Chapter 10 ~ Dangerous Demons on the Loose
Naraku looked down at Yanna with an evil smile on his lips. He was glad to see Yanna losing control of her demon side. He quickly turned around and pulled her back flush against his chest.
“Don’t fight it, my dear. I need you to let your demon side loose,” he whispered mischievously in her ear.
Yanna growled as she once again as she started to fight with Naraku’s hold on her. She didn’t want to lose control of her demon side again because she didn’t want to hurt Bakura again or anyone else for that matter.
“I won’t lose control,” she whispered more to herself.
Yanna then looked over to where she saw Bakura and Haru fighting. She flinched every time Haru’s fist made contact with Bakura’s body. She couldn’t take it anymore. Yanna finally let her demon side out to play as the demon markings on her face began to glow. She wasn’t going to let Haru beat her mate any longer. Yanna dug her claws into Naraku’s hand.
“Let me go,” she growled out in a deeper voice than normal.
Naraku grinned even more as he released Yanna’s arm. He watched as she quickly made her way over to Haru and Bakura. When Yanna was almost to Haru, Naraku nodded his head at his son to stop.
“That’s enough, Haru,’ he called out causing Yanna to stop in her tracks a few feet from Haru.
Haru stopped beating on Bakura and looked up at his father and Yanna. He grinned when he saw a growling Yanna staring down at him. He then looked back up at his father with anger shining in his red eyes.
“Why did you stop me, dad?” he asked angrily as he looked back at Yanna.
Naraku just grinned evilly at both Haru and Yanna. He knew that he couldn’t reveal his evil plans about using Yanna to his one and only son just yet. He then slowly walked up behind the growling Yanna and gently placed a hand on her shoulder.
“I stopped you because I didn’t want Yanna to go on a killing spree just yet, Haru,” Naraku said as he felt Yanna begin to relax under his touch. “Now pick Bakura up so we all can head back home.”
Haru nodded his head as he leaned down and picked Bakura’s unconscious form up off the ground. He then threw Bakura over his shoulder and walked over to his father.
“I’m ready,” he said to his father.
Yanna growled under her breath at Haru as she felt Naraku’s hand tighten on her shoulder. She quickly stopped growling and looked over her shoulder at Naraku. She then lowered her head in submission.
“Master,” she whispered quietly.
Naraku smiled even more when he heard what Yanna had called him. He continued to look at his son.
“Let’s go,” he said as he pulled Yanna down the sidewalk with him.
Haru nodded as he followed his father and Yanna. He just couldn’t understand what his father wanted with Bakura as well.
**meanwhile**
Malik and Yugi had woken up. They were all sitting around the living room talking about how they met up with each other.
Anise was listening to how her brother and Yugi had come across each other. She leaned back into the couch as she continued to listen.
“So your grandfather gave you the Millennium Puzzle?” she asked Yugi.
Yugi looked up at Anise and smiled. He slowly nodded his head as he prepared to answer her question.
“He sure did. He challenged me to solve it,” Yugi said with a smile as he looked up at Yami who was sitting beside him. “And I am glad that I did.”
Anise nodded her head as a strange feeling ran down her spine. She slowly got to her feet and walked towards the large bay window in the living room.
“Something is wrong,” she said just above a whisper.
Ryou had also gotten up. He followed after Anise. Marik and the others had also gotten up and followed after Anise. They were all worried about what she had said.
“What’s wrong, Anise?” Ryou asked as he cautiously approached the girl in front of the window.
Anise didn’t look at Ryou or the others. She just kept looking out the window as her own demon markings began to glow. She knew something had happened to Yanna and Bakura.
“He has them,” she said with a slight growl as she slowly turned around and faced the others.
Ryou slowly backed away from Anise when he saw her demon markings glowing on her face. He had never seen anything like that before.
Yami and Marik slowly approached Anise as Ryou backed away from her. The two yamis stopped when they were just inches away from Anise. Yami then walked up to his sister. He was careful not to make Anise angrier than she already was.
“Who has them, Anise?” Yami asked in a calming tone.
Anise turned her glowing red eyes towards Yami. She knew everyone meant well. But she didn’t want to hurt anyone.
“Naraku has Bakura and Yanna,” she said as her eyes returned to their normal amber-gold color while her demon markings glowed even more.
Ryou, Malik, and Yugi had their backs up against the far wall because the sight of Anise scared them slightly. All three hikaris looked at Anise, Yami, and Marik with wide eyes. Neither of them could believe what Anise had said about Yanna and Bakura.
“How do we get them back from Naraku?” Ryou asked Anise from across the room.
Anise looked over to where she had heard Ryou’s voice. She was having a hard time seeing anything since her eyes hadn’t fully adjusted from glowing moments before. Yami and Marik helped Anise back over to the couch. They then helped her to sit down. Ryou and the others slowly approached the couch. Once the hikaris were close enough to the couch, Ryou sat down next to Anise and gently took her right hand in his.
“So are you going to tell us how we can get Bakura and Yanna back from Naraku?” he asked her as he gently rubbed her hand.
Anise didn’t look directly at Ryou. She instead looked down towards the floor and sighed as her eyes once again came into focus.
“That is going to depend on what Naraku did to Yanna. She has completely lost her mind to her demon side,” she whispered quietly.
Ryou just stared at Anise. He needed to know if Bakura was okay. For some odd reason, Ryou couldn’t get through to Bakura with their own link.
“How can we both know if Yanna and Bakura are okay?” he asked worriedly.
Anise looked at Ryou and the others with a worried look in her own golden eyes. She sighed slightly as she looked away from the five boys again.
“Yanna is fine, Ryou. Bakura, on the other hand, is unconscious at the moment,” she said as she looked back up at the boys with glowing red eyes once more.
Yami stepped towards Anise and gently placed his hand on her shoulder once more.
“You can feel what is happening to Yanna, can’t you Anise?” he asked his baby sister.
Anise nodded her head slowly as she looked at Yami, her eyes still glowing a deathly shade of red. She knew that Yami and the others could see the tears that were shining in her scarlet eyes. Just then, Anise fell off the couch to her knees and howled out in pain.
All five boys quickly gathered around Anise as she continued to howl out in pain. Yami and Marik laid Anise down on the floor. Malik went and quickly got a pillow off the couch and laid it under her head. They all watched as Anise continued to writhe in pain.
“This isn’t good, Yami,” Marik said in a worried tone.
Yami looked up at Marik with the same worried look from before dancing in his own eyes. He nodded his head in agreement.
“I know, Marik. But there really isn’t much we can do at the moment,” he said back to the other yami.
Just then there was a knock at the front door. The sudden noise made everyone in the living room jump. Ryou slowly walked towards the front door. Once Ryou had reached the door, he didn’t open it. He very carefully stood on his tiptoes and peered out the peephole. He couldn’t believe who he was seeing.
“Who is it?” Yami and Marik yelled from the living room at the same time.
“It’s my cousin,” Ryou called back to the others as he opened the door. “KrisKurah,” he said excitedly as he launched himself out the open door and hugged the girl before him.
The girl standing in front of Ryou had long silver hair and was wearing a red t-shirt and blue jeans. She smiled at Ryou and returned his hug.
“It is good to see you again, Ryou,” KrisKurah said as she released her young cousin.
Ryou looked at the floor when KrisKurah had released him. KrisKurah caught the way her cousin was acting. She then hooked her index finger on her left hand under Ryou’s chin and made him look up at her.
“What’s wrong, Ryou?” she asked him.
Ryou looked up into KrisKurah’s brown eyes. He could see the silver specks shining brightly in her eyes. He could never understand how she was the only one in their family that had eyes like that. He sighed slightly as he prepared to tell his cousin about what had been going on.
“It’s hard to explain, Kris,” he said quietly as he looked over his shoulder into the living room.
KrisKurah sighed as she looked into the living room and smiled when she saw Marik and Yami standing there looking back at her and Ryou. She waved to the two older boys and then looked back at Ryou.
“Does this have something to do with Bakura and the others?” she asked her cousin.
Ryou slowly nodded his head as he looked back up at Kris. “It does,” he said to her and then looked back at the floor. “It all started when my friends and I went over to InuYasha’s house yesterday morning to walk to school with him.”
“What happened when you got to InuYasha’s house?” she asked him.
Ryou sighed even more as he started to explain to his cousin about meeting Yanna and discovering that she had the Millennium Bracelet and she had a dark side just like him, Yugi, and Malik. He also went on to explain how they all had met Anise the night before. Ryou also told Kris that Bakura and Yanna had left to go back to her house to talk to her dad about what had been happening to her over the years.
“And now Yanna and Bakura have been taken by Naraku,” he said as a few tears fell from his eyes.
KrisKurah just looked at Ryou with a look of disbelief. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. She had always known that Bakura had been searching for the one that he had lost 5000 years prior. Kris then pulled Ryou towards the living room so that they both could sit down.
Once the two of them were in the living room, Ryou walked over to where Anise was on the floor and sat down next to her. He took Anise’s hand in his own and completely ignored the others in the room.
“Come back to me, Anise,” he whispered in her ear as he laid down next to her on the floor and fell asleep.
Kris watched her cousin with Anise and then looked up at Yami and the other boys. She smiled at them all as she walked over to the nearest chair and sat down. She kept her eyes on the others as they turned to more of a silver color than a brown color. Her hair had also become more of a black color than the normal silver color that it always was.
“So my brother has finally found his true love in your sister’s hikari, Pharaoh?” she asked Yami.
Malik and Yugi just watched and couldn’t believe what Kris had said to Yami. Malik slowly walked over to Kris but Marik beat his other half to the girl. Marik stood in front of Kris and smiled down at her.
“And what if Bakura has taken to Yanna, Krissy?” Marik asked his best friend’s sister.
Krissy looked up at Marik and smiled even more. She knew that it had always bothered Marik that she had kept tabs on Bakura right after Anise was killed and he left the palace. She then got to her feet and stood in front of Marik and Malik.
“He doesn’t deserve either of them,” she said back to the blonde boys in front of her. “Anise betrayed him and Yanna will too in time.”
Yami stalked up to Krissy, Marik, and Malik. He looked the girl straight in the eye as the Sennen Eye appeared on his forehead.
“Bakura loved my sister, Krissy. You weren’t there to see him when Anise was killed by Naraku. He was devastated when she died in his arms,” Yami yelled at the girl before him. “And now he loves Yanna and won’t let history repeat itself to the point where he will lose her.”
Krissy sat back down in the chair that she was previously sitting in and smiled up at Yami. She then crossed her arms in front of her as she returned Yami’s glare.
“I didn’t need to be there, Yami. I was the one he came running to right after you sealed her soul to the bracelet,” she said back. “You weren’t the ones to comfort him when he cried himself to sleep at night.”
Malik and Yugi just stared at Krissy with their jaws opened. Neither boy could believe what was happening and being said in front of them. Just then, Yugi got the guts and spoke up.
“Uhhh, Yami. I thought you told me that Bakura was an only child,” Yugi said to his dark half.
Yami didn’t look back at Yugi when he heard his hikari’s words. He kept his eyes on Krissy as they started to glow slightly.
“Bakura didn’t know that he had a sister until he left after Anise was killed. He was brought to the palace when Anise was a year old. He was raised in the palace to be Anise’s servant,” he said while still looking at Krissy. “But it ended up being more that was happening between Anise and Bakura. They had actually promised themselves to each other right before Anise was taken away from the palace by her real father when she was four years old.”
Krissy just grinned mischievously at Yami and the others. “That’s right. I was born after our parents gave Bakura up to the palace,” she said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Malik took the chance to make his stand with everyone in the room. He gently placed a hand on Yami’s shoulder to try and get him to calm down. He then looked back at Yugi and Marik.
“This isn’t helping Yanna, Bakura, Ryou, and Anise,” he said to them all. “We need to put our differences aside and figure out how we are going to get Yanna and Bakura back from Naraku before we lose not only them but Anise and Ryou as well.”
Yami calmed down when he heard Malik’s words. He knew the young hikari was right. They needed to concentrate more on figuring out where Naraku lived in order to get their friends back before it was too late. Yami then looked down at Malik and smiled.
“Thank you, Malik,” he said in a quiet tone.
Malik smiled back up at Yami and nodded his head. “You’re welcome, Yami,” he said as he then turned his eyes on Krissy. “Why did you truly come here, Krissy?” he asked the girl.
Krissy looked at Malik and smiled even more. “I’ve come to help you guys get my brother and Yanna back from Naraku. Naraku is after the power of the bracelet. And in order for him to achieve that power, he needs Yanna to fully let her demon side consume her heart,” she the boys in front of her.
She then got up from the chair that she was sitting in and walked over to the sleeping bodies of Anise and Ryou on the floor. She then knelt down beside the two on the floor and sighed. Krissy gently ran her hand down both Ryou and Anise’s cheeks. She was surprised that they neither of them woke up. She then looked up at Yami and Marik with worry showing in her silver orbs.
“What is happening to Yanna and Bakura is affecting Anise and Ryou more than it should,” she said to them. “Just how close are my brother and his hikari?”
Yugi walked over to where Krissy was kneeling beside his friend and Anise. He knelt down next to her as well and smiled up at her.
“Ryou and Bakura act more like brothers than hikari and yami,” he said to her.
Krissy nodded her head as she smiled back at Yugi. She then looked back down at Ryou and Anise.
“Where were Yanna and Bakura going when they left the house?” she asked out of the blue.
Yami and Marik both looked at each other and then back at Krissy. They both knew that Krissy had every right to know where her brother had gone with Yanna.
“They were heading back to Yanna’s house when Anise told us that both Bakura and Yanna had been taken by Naraku,” Marik said to his best friend’s sister.
Krissy nodded her head again as she looked closely at Anise and Ryou. She smiled when she noticed something different about her hikari’s cousin. She then looked up at Yami, Marik, Malik, and Yugi with a small smile on her face.
“Why don’t you four take a closer look at Ryou and Anise and tell me what you see different about them,” she said to the boys.
Yami, Marik, and their hikaris all knelt down next to Ryou and Anise. They all looked closely at the two on the floor. Yami and Marik noticed the changes in Anise and Ryou before Malik and Yugi did. Marik looked at Yami with a shocked look on his face.
“Yami, are those demon markings appearing on Ryou’s face?” Marik asked with a bit of concern showing in his voice.
Yami just nodded his head as he kept his eyes on his baby sister still passed out on the living room floor with Ryou right beside him. He cautiously reached out and gently touched her cheek. He then looked over at Ryou and sighed slightly.
“Yeah they are, Marik,” he said. “I wonder if the same thing is happening to Bakura. This has to be because of Yanna.”
Krissy smiled even more as she heard the Pharaoh’s words. She then got back to her feet as she let KrisKurah take control back.
“It is, Yami,” KrisKurah said as she sat down in the chair nearest to where she was standing.
Yami looked back up at Ryou’s cousin sitting in the chair. He could tell that she was just as worried as the rest of them about Ryou and the others. Just then, Yami walked over to the chair and knelt down in front of her. He then looked up into her brown eyes and smiled.
“I know you can help us get Krissy’s brother and Yanna back from Naraku, Kris,” he said to her in a stern but yet comforting tone.
Kris nodded her head. She hated it when Yami could get into her head the way he just did. She always thought that it was more Krissy’s doing than Yami’s. Just then, Kris got an idea on how to get Yanna and Bakura back from the one person they all hate at the moment.
“Yami, we need to get the book that Yanna and Bakura were going after at Yanna’s house,” she said quietly. “That is the only way to get both Bakura and Yanna back from Naraku.”
Yami just continued to look at Kris as she mentioned something about a book. He really didn’t know what she was talking about because nor Yanna and Bakura mentioned anything about a book. When he couldn’t figure out what Kris was talking about, he turned and looked at Marik, Malik, and Yugi.
“Do you three know what book she is talking about?” he asked them.
Yugi and Malik shook their heads right along with Marik. None of them had heard anything about a book from Yanna or Bakura. Marik walked up to where Yami was kneeling in front of Kris. He then knelt beside Yami as well.
“They never told us anything about a book, Yami,” he said. “But I think that Anise may know about it.”
Yami looked at his longtime friend and then over to his sister asleep on the floor beside Ryou.
“Then we just wait until Anise and Ryou wake up,” he said in a docile tone as he got to his feet and walked into the kitchen.
**with Yanna and Bakura**
When Naraku and the others had gotten back to the house, Naraku took Yanna and Bakura to room down in the basement. He also made sure that Izayoi didn’t see them when they came into the house. Once down in the basement, Haru threw Bakura’s unconscious body onto the floor while Naraku tossed the Demon Yanna into the room as well.
Once Yanna was in the room with Bakura, she immediately went to his side and stood protectively over him as she glared up at Naraku with menacing red eyes. She growled fiercely at the man standing before her.
“Why did you harm my mate?” she growled out right before she lunged at Naraku.
Naraku smiled as he caught Yanna in midair and pulled her into his chest. He then forced her to look back at Haru who was standing over Bakura with a sword to his throat.
“We harmed him to make you mad enough to release the demon inside of you,” he whispered in her ear. “And I need you to release the power of the bracelet and to bring me the book that you were going after at your father‘s.”
Yanna fought with Naraku’s hold on her. She wasn’t going to let him get his hands on the book that she needed in order to switch places with Anise and be bound to the Millennium Ring, Puzzle, Rod, and Bracelet. She then looked over her shoulder and growled even more as the demon markings on her face began to glow even more.
“Why do you need the book, Naraku?” she asked in a more subdued tone when she looked back at Bakura and saw him stirring on the floor of the basement. She quickly pulled out of Naraku’s hold on her and ran over to where Bakura lay on the floor. Once she was at Bakura’s side, she looked up at Naraku. “So are you going to answer my question, Stepfather?” she asked.
Naraku just smiled at Yanna when he heard her call him her stepfather. He was pleased that he was finally getting through to her. He then walked over to where she was beside Bakura and knelt down to her level.
“There is a spell in your father’s book that I need in order to truly get what I need,” he said to her just as Bakura opened his eyes. He then got up and walked over to window and looked out as Yanna tended to Bakura.
Yanna just scoffed at Naraku as she looked back down at Bakura. She gently ran her hand down his cheek to get him to look up at her.
“Bakan,” she whispered to him. “Please look at me.”
Bakura looked up at Yanna weakly and smiled slightly at her. He weakly brought his left hand up to her right cheek and gently stroked it to let her know that he was okay. He then let Yanna help him into a sitting position where he leaned against her chest for support. He immediately noticed that Yanna’s demon markings were glowing on her face. It had been awhile since he had seen something like that. They both then turned and looked at Naraku as Yanna spoke what Bakura was thinking.
“And what spell is that?” she asked in a tone that was starting to be unbecoming of her.
Naraku slowly walked over to both Bakura and Yanna. He then knelt down to their level and looked both of the teenagers in the eyes. He then reached out to touch Yanna’s cheek when both Yanna and Bakura growled at him. Naraku didn’t let both of their growling at him stop him from touching Yanna’s cheek.
“I will show you once you get me that book, my dear,” he said to Yanna in a loving tone.
Yanna pulled away from Naraku and growled even more. “And if I don’t get you that book?” she asked menacingly.
Naraku got back to his feet and smiled down at Bakura and Yanna. He then reached down and pulled Bakura away from Yanna. He started to laugh when he heard Yanna growling even more at him for taking her mate from her. He felt Bakura fighting with him to get away.
“Then you won’t be seeing much of your mate in the near future because I will let Haru beat him until he is nothing more than a pile of busted and bloodied bones,” he said back to his stepdaughter with an evil smile on his face.
Yanna slowly got to her feet and just stared at Naraku and Bakura with glowing scarlet eyes. There was no way that she was going to let the man before her use Bakura to get her do his bidding. She then looked at Bakura with hurt in her eyes at the same time as her anger showed in them.
Bakura could see that Yanna was contemplating on doing what Naraku wanted just to keep himself from getting hurt. He stared right back into her eyes with his own glowing ones.
“Don’t do it, Yanna,” he called after her as saw her starting to lose even more control.
Yanna looked away from Bakura and back up at Naraku. She slowly let her head droop as she gave into what he was asking her to do. She then looked back up at Naraku with a calm and blank red stare.
“I will get that book for you,” she whispered so quietly that both Naraku and Bakura had to strain to hear her.
Naraku smiled as he threw Bakura back to the floor and reached out and pulled Yanna to him. He was happy to see that she was once more being submissive to him. He started to leave the basement with Yanna when he heard a dangerous growl coming from behind him. He slowly turned around with Yanna still and came face to face with a pair of glowing violet eyes.
“Well, well, well. I see that my pet’s demon side is affecting you as well,” he said to Bakura.
Bakura just looked up at Naraku and grinned evilly. His eyes started to glow even more the longer he stared at Yanna in Naraku’s hold. Just then, Bakura started to walk towards Naraku and Yanna.
“I will go with her to make sure that she gets you the book,” he articulated back to Naraku just as demon markings started to appear on his own face and glow just like his eyes.
Naraku walked back over to where Bakura was standing and stared at the boy. He grinned as he stopped in front of Bakura. He then released Yanna and pushed her towards Bakura harder than need be.
Bakura caught Yanna in his arms and looked down at her. He, too, noticed that her own demon markings were once again glowing. He just hoped that this wasn’t affecting Ryou and Anise since the others wouldn’t know what to do. Both Yanna and Bakura looked back up at Naraku and growled.
Naraku grinned even more as he slowly approached both demons before him. He reached out to try and touch Yanna’s cheek to see what Bakura would do to him. He quickly pulled his hand back when Bakura snapped at him.
“This could work to my advantage,” he said to both demons as he looked right at Yanna. “You know where your father keeps the book. Go now and bring it back. Spare no one that gets in your way.”
Bakura and Yanna nodded their heads at Naraku as they both ran up the basement steps and out of the house. They headed towards Yanna’s house to get the book. Once Yanna and Bakura were far enough away from the house, both demons came across an innocent person in their path. Yanna looked up at Bakura and smiled evilly as her eyes started to glow even more. Bakura’s eyes matched his love’s.
“He said to spare no one,” he said to her.
Yanna nodded her head as she charged after the person in front of them. Bakura quickly followed behind her to help if he needed to. Neither demon took notice of what the person looked like. They just killed the person and continued on towards the place where the book was at.
**back at Ryou’s house**
Ryou and Anise started to stir on the floor. Both of them slowly opened their eyes and looked at each other at first. They then looked over at the others and grinned evilly as their own eyes started to glow as they both felt what Yanna and Bakura were going through. They got to their feet. Neither of them wasted any time as they both jumped out the big bay window in the living room. All they could hear was Yami and Marik yelling after them.
The town of Domino was now in danger with four out of control demons on the loose.
