Ok, for the next chapter, I will look at the reviews, or you can pm me if you want, and if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or any of that kind, I will answer them. The chapter will be called "Questions & Answers", it's just to take a moment from the story, to step back and review what I want and where the plot bunny wants me to take this. Such as whether or not I want to do a sequel, where all the Hikaris get pregnant and have their children, maybe a new bad guy comes into the scene, and/or a prequel where I can do all their back stories, how they all met and goes up to the point where the Hikaris are murdered. I'll wait for two days, since I have to go to classes on Monday and Tuesday before I'm on break for Thanksgiving. So, ask away and we'll go from there.
Enjoy the chapter :3 Chapter 16 In the last chapter~ "I am the black child of a white father, a wingless bird, flying even to the clouds of heaven. I give birth to tears of mourning in pupils that meet me, even though there is no cause for grief, and at once on my birth I am dissolved into air. What am I? " Marik was puzzled, frowning and trying to think of what it could be. He wasn't as good at riddles as the others, and that was the reason his Hikari now stood almost naked. He knew if he got anymore wrong, his Hikari would be cut and the thought made him frustrated, his thoughts becoming more confused. The others knew they couldn't help him, and just hoped Marik could calm down on his own. And then, a voice barely above a whisper, and if everyone hadn't been so silent, Marik would have never heard it. "It's ok, take a deep breath, calm down and focus on it." Everyone turned their heads in the direction of the voice. Malik had seen the man that looked like him getting frustrated, and somewhere, deep inside him, he knew that if he spoke to him, the man would calm down enough to think without him even having to touch him. Marik relaxed and did as his Hikari told him, taking a deep breath. After a moment, he had his answer and looked over at Pegasus. "Smoke." Pegasus nodded and Marik sighed in relief looking at the panel, only a few switched and levers were left, so he chose a switch and flipped it. A moment later, all three of the Hikari's were lifted slightly off the ground and a panel moved out from under them. Unfortunately, Yugi looked down and almost screamed out in fright when he saw the dark hole under them, seeing something moving in the dark. Marik cursed his luck before stepping back to let Pegasus mark the switch and flip it closed. The game went on until all the switches had been tried and only six levers remained. Akefia and Bakura stepped up, ready for the challenge and answer any riddle. Pegasus stepped forward and smirked. "Why don't we make this a bit more interesting? I will mark one of the levers that bring a Hikari down, whether it's yours or not, but you have to answer three riddles correctly, and if you get any of them wrong, I will flip the switch and lower the Hikari into the hole, and they will have to wait there until it is their respective Yami's turn. What do you say?" They got into a huddle, speaking to each other softly to make a decision. "You can't be seriously thinking about this! If we get it wrong, Ryou will be down there until it's are turn again, who knows what's down there!" "I'm not saying we should, but we have to consider it." "I don't know about this." "Listen! We have to try, if we get it right, we'll have one of the Hikari's back with us and it might help figuring out which the other two levers we need to choose to get the other two down." "Alright, so we are all in agreement?" "Yes." "Yes." "I don't like it, but ok." Akefia and Bakura stepped up again and then nodded in agreement. "We'll do it." Pegasus grinned and nodded. "Alright, first riddle: All about, but cannot be seen, Can be captured, cannot be held, No throat, but can be heard. What is it?" Bakura whispered to Akefia for a while before they nodded to each other. "The wind." They said and Pegasus nodded. "Correct, second riddle: If a man carried my burden, He would break his back. I am not rich, But I leave silver in my track. What am I?" It took another few moments before they answered. "A snail." Bakura said. "Correct, now here's the last riddle: If you break me, I do not stop working. If you touch me, I may be snared. If you lose me, Nothing will matter. What am I?" They looked at each other, both a little stumped and they both looked at their Hikari. They didn't want anything bad to happen to him and were scared to lose him. Ryou looked up at the Bakura and Akefia, seeing the worry in their eyes and he was a little startled to see a little fear in both of their eyes. His gaze softened and he smiled, trying to comfort them and tell them everything was going to be ok. After a while, Akefia thought of something and looked straight at Pegasus, hoping and praying it was the right answer. "Is it One's heart?" A moment later, Pegasus sighed in frustration "Correct." and marked one of the levers for a Hikari. Akefia stepped forward and put his hand on the lever before pulling it down. ~ Who will it be?
