From where he
sat, he could see, that Jou was done with his test, but the blond was still
mumbling and scowling, face scrunched in concentration.The CEO’s brow
furrowed, when he registered the balled fists of the shorter duelist, clenched
hard enough to make the knuckles stand out white.‘What could be
upsetting him this much? It’s not like he really bothers about his marks, so it
can’t possibly be this futile attempt at a mental challenge they call a test.’“What’s going
on in your head, Jou?” whispered Kaiba quietly to himself.“Tokunaga brought his fate upon himself. You know that as well as
me.”“Stop making up excuses! You screwed up,
royally, and on purpose, and y’ don’t even have the guts to admit it! You-““Don’t you ever dare to accuse me of
being cowardly. At least I am man enough to face my own insecurities and
faults, aswell to be honest about my feelings, be they good or bad. Unlike a
certain someone I know.”“What the hell are y’ on about?” fumed
Katsuya.“Oh, come on, stop playing dumb! You know
as well as I that Mai was just an infatuation. A comfortable excuse for not
having to come to terms with your sexuality or your feelings for a certain
blue-eyed brunet.”Jou gawked, before snapping his mouth
shut and snarling:“I can assure y’, I have no romantic
feelings whatsoever for Anzu. She’s just-“-GB>“Actually, I was referring to Kaiba.”
“Have you lost
your mind?!?” roared Jou, as he shot up from his seat and slammed his palms on
his desk.There was a
shocked silence, befor the teacher cleared his throath and replied:“I could be
asking you the same question, Jounouchi. Is it something concerning the test
or-““Uhh..” muttered
Jou intelligently.
How was he supposed to answer
that?‘No, I was
yelling at my alter ego for accusing me of having a crush on my worst enemy?’
Not hardly.Luckily, the
teacher unwantingly gave him the perfect excuse.“I take it
then, that you once again dozed off in the middle of class and had a very
lively dream, ne?”Snickers and
giggles were heard, even as Jou went beet red.It was not even
close, but still worlds better than the truth.The teacher
took his blushing and silence for a yes.“I assume, you
might need some time by yourself to straighten out your thoughts. What do you
think?”Katsuya sighed
in defeat.“Ten minutes?”
“I rather
twenty.”“Hai, sensei”,
muttered Jou, as he trudged towards the door, accompanied by the chuckles and
whispers of his classmates.Only his
friends weren’t laughing, but rather exchanging worried glances.And Kaiba
