Affair 17 : Duel Darkness, Pt 2 � Mirror Malevolence

Summary : Keiyuu shows her true ability�

Note : This chapter is dedicated to Doma episode 178,
which was my inspiration for this chapter. If you don�t remember what happened
in that episode, read on and you should catch on to what I mean by that�

LP Standings :

Yami : 3000
Keiyuu : 5000

Monsters on the field currently:

Keiyuu : 3 cards face down, Curse of Darkness trap, no
monsters on the field
Yami : 2 cards face down, 1 monster face down, defense mode

�Shit�I can�t seem to pierce her defenses whatsoever�� Yami
thought, a bead of sweat running down the side of his head. He then glanced at
his current hand, composed of Mirror Force, White Hole, Meteor Rain, and
Magician�s Circle. In her previous turn, Keiyuu made a mockery of Yami�s Black
Luster Soldier by summoning her own Black Luster Solder � Envoy of the
Beginning, then if that weren�t enough, she activated a trap card called Curse
of Darkness, which cost him a 1,000 points for that magic card he used due to
its effect on magic card users and then she used her Black Luster to wipe out
both of theirs. Then she used Emergency Provisions to boost her life ponts by
1,000.

Absolute bitch.

�Am I gonna fall asleep on my feet here?� her voice broke
the monotony of the atmosphere as Yami bore his eyes into her.
�You must be in a hurry to get your butt kicked� he replied.
�Pardon me? Who�s the one with less life points here, Yu-Gi-Oh?�
�There�s more to dueling than life points. Any true duelist
knows that�
She scoffed. �Whatever. Hurry up and move� �So I can
really devastate you�� she grinned inwardly.
�I place one card on the field and end my turn� Yami replied
as the card appeared on the field.
Keiyuu glanced over her hand as she added a card to her hand
then plucked another one from another place. �You know, Yami, I was really
expecting a very hot battle with you, but this�this is cold. How
in the hell did you ever get to be Yu-gi-oh with moves like these?�
Yami narrowed his eyes. �What in the heck is her angle
here? Is she trying to bait me on purpose? Almost like Kaiba, but there�s else
I�m sensing here��
~ Yami, watch out! ~ Bakura called to him through the link
as Yami blinked back and saw her Black Luster coming right at him, his defense
monster gone.
�Trap card! Mirror Force!� he called as the card flipped up
and the monster was instantly destroyed.
/ Are you all right Yami? / Ryou�s voice came through to him
this time
// Yeah, I�m fine //
/ Don�t let her rattle you Yami�show her what you�re made of!
/ he cheered
Yami chuckled. // Thank you ai -- // Yami paused, trying not
to let the tears start. // Sorry�Ryou� //
/ I don�t think Yugi�s dead Yami� /
~ Yami! Watch yourself! Ryou, don�t distract him! ~ Bakura
pointed out to both of them as Yami refocused himself to see her placing one
more card on the field on the field and waiting on him. He noticed that she had
nothing but card in her magic and trap field, and no monsters. �She�s trying
to bait me�ok, I see how it is��
�I don�t think Yugi�s dead��

�They disappeared��

�She�s trapped them��

�Trap! That�s it!� Yami thought. �My turn! Draw!� he
said pulling from his deck, and then pushed a button on his duel disk. �Trap
card activate! Royal Decree!� he grinned as he saw a scowl cross her features
as 3 of her cards disappeared, including that bedamned Curse of Darkness card.
�If this is a trap and Yugi and the others are a part of it�I�ve got to find
a way to save them�� he thought, but bit his lip not having a clue. // Kura
I�ve got it� //
~ What? ~
// I think Raphael�s right� //
~ Well we need to try and find them then.. ~
// I have a feeling we might not need to� //
~ What?! ~
// Just trust me ok? Watch this� //

�I summon Rapid Fire Magician to the field in attack mode!�
Yami declared as he set the monster and it appeared on the field. �Now�I�m
going to activate it�s special effect by activating this�Mage Power!�
Her scowl deepened and his grin broadened. �Who�s ya
daddy now bitch?� Yami thought then groaned mentally. �I�ve got to stop
watching those crap assed chick flick movies��
�Then�I add this�Meteor of Destruction!� he said as 1800 LP
blazed away from her score.

LP : 3200

�Now my magician, attack her life points directly!� he
commanded as the magician drained 1600 more of her life points away. LP : 1600.
Yami had to keep himself from laughing aloud, but kept Yugi and the others in
mind all the while. The crowd was on it�s feet cheering, a pair of deep blues
watching from a distance.

�Yes, cheer now because you�re cheers are about to turn
to tears�� she thought mentally. �Well�that was nicely played,� she said
simply, tucking a strand of silver hair behind her ear. �But�� she said
plucking a choice card from her hand. �I think it�s time we stopped
playing, don�t you think? And, um�thank you for playing that monster,� she
chuckled as she threw down her card as it appeared on the field, roaring to
life.

Cyber Dragon (2100/1600/5)

�You�re a true gentleman Yami. No other guy would ever let
me�KICK THEIR ASS!� she laughed. �Now, I play Polymerization and another one of
these sweet little babies��
�Holy shit�� Yami gulped as the Twin Cyber Dragon
(2800/2100/8) emerged larger than life on the field as it blazed his magician
in a flash of power.

LP : 200

�Holy crap! What the hell was that?!� Jounouchi looked on
startled like everyone was in a low roaring mummer at the sudden turnaround of
events.
�YAMI!!!� Amelda yelled as the monster then set its sights
on Yami as it fired upon him.
�What the fuck?!� Bakura was on his feet.
�It�s a special effect of the monster�� Raphael stated.
�I�ve never even seen that monster before�� Jounouchi shook
his head.
�It�s a new rare card. They just came out with them not too
long ago,� Amelda said.

�DEFUSION!!!� Yami activated the card as the monster split
up back into two monsters again. Jounouchi dropped back down on the bench. �Oh
my gosh�I think we�re all going to have heart attacks before this match is
over�

Bakura grinned. �You�re such a wuss, Jounouchi. You
shouldn�t be talking considering your past near death experiences��
Amelda and Raphael both looked at the blond incredulously.
�In dueling I mean� Bakura rolled his eyes as he focused his
eyes back on the field where Yami was finishing up his latest move. ~ How are
you holding up? ~
// How the fuck do you think I�m holding up? // he
growled.
~ Just asking. Come on�you can do this� ~
// Kura, they�re not dead //
~ I know ~
// What?! //
~ Focus! ~

�Here we go�� she grinned. �Hmm�you know�maybe I�ve
been a little too hard on you. Let�s start over shall we? Perhaps we got off on
the wrong foot�� she slid a card into a slot as Dark Hole appeared on the field
and her own monster disappeared. �And then this little number�� she chuckled as
she activated Giant Trunade as their magic and trap cards were then returned to
their hands. �Much better now, see?� she then slid a card from her hand�
The Millennium Puzzle began to pulsate with power as the
sennen eye flashed briefly on Yami�s forehead. �Something�s wrong��
�Ritual card�Oracle Mirror�� she said as she slid the card
into the duel disk.

Heartbeats.

�By sacrificing one card on hand, I can special summon
Mirror Knight Kourin�� she chuckled as a blue gemlike object appeared in front.
�And by having this on the field, then my Mirror Knights are special summoned
to the field� she said as 4 armored monsters appeared on the field.
�And 2 cards face down. I think that should do it�

Yami�s POV :

�What�s wrong with me? And the puzzle�s putting out a
weird pulse�as if it�s trying to warn me�Yugi?!�

��go, Yami?� her voice cut through his myriad of thoughts as
he looked over at the young woman, who�s face had an unreadable expression upon
her face, but there was something in her red orbs that seemed to reflect
something else�
Yami scanned the field. He was up against 5 monsters and 2
cards. �Hmm�� �My move! Draw!� he said as he eyed the card that was in
his hand as a chuckle rumbled low in his throat. �I�ll be damned�never
thought this one would ever come in handy�� he then looked over and spied
Raphael, then looked back towards Keiyuu. �I activate this magic card �
Shooting Star Bow��

�What is that? Yams has never had that sort of card before�
Jounouchi wondered. Hearing laughter he looked to see Amelda and Raphael
chuckling.
�What da hell is so funny?� Jounouchi sighed.
�Are you sure you know your friend�s deck?� Raphael asked.
However, before Jounouchi could respond there was another loud outburst by the
crowd as the group looked to see the crystal vanish from the field and Keiyuu�s
life points down to a measly 900.
�WAY TO GO YAMS!!!� Jounouchi cheered as another sound
echoed through the stadium.
�Waitaminute�what�s that?�

CRACK!!!

As they all looked, the helmets of three of the Mirror
Knights splintered and broke apart to reveal�

Yugi.

Mokuba.

Varon.

�NO!!!!� Yami yelled, fighting off the urge to plunge
everything into the shadows right then as Keiyuu�s laughter echoed throughout
the stadium.

�Oh my God�nononononono�� Jounouchi covered his head with
his hands as Ryou hugged his friend to him.
�That bitch! She set this whole fucking thing up!�
Bakura growled, his eyes ablaze with fury.
| Kura, you cant! |
~ I won�t�I promise�but I swear to Ra if Yami doesn�t I
will! ~
| Trust him. That�s what set a riff between you two before
right? And what�s wrong with Yugi and Yami right now�yami-hikari trust,
remember? |
~ I know�~ Bakura looked towards Yami, who seemed to be just
frozen on the spot.
| Yami�s not moving, Kura. Can you get through to him? |
~ I haven�t tried�~ Bakura said as he turned his attention
on Yami as he gasped clutching his head.
�Bakura! What�s wrong?� Jounouchi asked.
�Bad�headache�� he gasped. ~ He�s frozen, Ryou�~
| Oh my god� |

Keiyuu smirked looking up at his small group, then back at
Yami�s still form. �This is going to be one duel you�re not going to
dominate��

Yami was at a loss. Before him stood three people that were
close to him. Aibou. Mokuba. Varon. What could he do though? He couldn�t hurt
them. He definitely couldn�t fight them.

/ Y-Yami�/

Yami�s head snapped up as he looked around. // Aibou? //

/ Hel../ and the link died again.

�YUGI!!!�

~ That�s it! I�ve got to do it Ryou! We can�t risk everyone
being involved ~ Bakura said as he got up from his seat and Ryou followed as he
headed for the rafters area.
�Bakura! Ryou! Where are you going?� Jounouchi called after
them.
�To stop her!� he called back as they disappeared down the
stairs. Jounouchi sighed as he sat back down. �I think I have a pretty good
idea by what he means by that��

~ Marik, we need you! ~
/ Uhh� / the other yami groaned sleepily.
~ We found Yugi! Yami�s in trouble though�~

�This better be damn good�� the other yami grouched. Bakura
smacked him upside the head.
�You can fuck later, but we need to help Yami now�
�Now what happened again?�

Bakura held out his hand as a dark orb appeared as the Yami
and the girl appeared.
�I saw her that one time Yugi was looking for Yami��
�Say what?!� Bakura growled.
�Oh take a chill pill would you. I happened to run into him
at the hotel there and he said he was looking for Yami and then we saw her, who
told us exactly where to find him, although I don�t know how she would know
considering she�s not anyone that I could see Yami hanging around�
�But did you sense anything from her or anything?� Bakura
asked.
�No, because I left almost immediately when I noticed that
Yugi saw Yami and his 3 little friends coming out of the elevator looking a bit
too cozy with one another� he chuckled.
�What are we going to do though? Yami�s totally frozen and
we need to free the others�� Ryou said, not noticing the tears slipping out of
his eyes as Bakura looked over at his hikari and hugged him.
�First things first�� Marik said unsheathing the rod from
his belt as he held it up as it pulsated with power.

�Hmm�so it would seem he�s got help after all�lotta good
that�ll do any of them�� Yami��
Yami lifted his head as his eyes met hers, hers seeming to
dance joyously with victory. �I don�t know if I can psyche her out any.
She�s intense�but, this is for you aibou. I won�t lose you again�� he then
looked around and noticed where they were. �The Shadow Realm? When..?�
he smiled chuckling to himself. He realized Bakura and the others must�ve been
close by. He then put on his game face. �So�you think using them�s going to
stop me from destroying you in this duel?�
�But are you sure this is a duel anymore?� she chuckled.
�Stop fooling yourself!�
�You�re the one that�s about to be fooled�� she grinned.
�Now then�where was I? Oh yes�about to wipe you out�Mirror Knight 4, Mirror
Knight Yugi!�
�What?!� Yami looked to see the other Mirror Knight reflect
his monster in its shield and Yugi reflected him in his shield. �What are
those? Mirrors?�
�Their mirror shields help my knights to determine their
targets. If their target is an opponent�s monster, they take on that monster�s
attack points, and if it�s the opponent directly, they get a 500 attack point
bonus. Now my knights, attack!�

�If Yami gets attacked, he�ll lose the duel!� Ryou gasped.
�Not likely. Look�� Marik yawned as the group looked to see
Kuriboh on the field as Yugi attacked it, leaving Yami unharmed.
�That damned fuzzball!� Bakura exclaimed as Ryou giggled.
�But you have to admit, it is a handy little fella�� he
said.
�I prefer my ghosts thank you.�
�You just like scaring the shit out of your opponents� Ryou
replied lamely.
�Didn�t know that was a crime� Bakura replied grinning.

�Are you afraid of me, Yami?� Keiyuu asked as Yami looked at
her as if she were out of her mind.
�I thought you were nuts before, but now�I�m absolutely
certain. Who are you though?�
�You must not�ve heard me from before�I told you�I�m the
mirror knight duelist� she said.
�No�there�s more to you than that. I can sense it��
�You think so huh�Pharaoh� she grinned.
�What?!�

�What did she say?!� Ryou�s eyes widened
�She knows who he is?�
�I knew it�� Bakura narrowed his eyes. �This might end up
being more dangerous than we thought�� We can�t give up though�we will save
you, Yugi, Mokuba, Varon�

Note : As you can see, I went ahead and went through
with uploading the 2 chapters that dealt with the dance contest because I
thought to myself. �This isn�t a songfic; these do have a purpose to the
storyline� and said �fuck it�, so enjoy those chapters everyone.
Ok, now I know the elements of the episode didn�t go exactly
like this; however, since these cards aren�t ones that are part of the
regular duel world, they�re a bit more flexible to be played around with, so I
decided to make them the way I did, which was close enough because the element
of Oricalcos was with them from before, but this isn�t about Oricalcos, so I
had to change up the way the cards worked somewhat. I tried my best also to cut
down the dueling so as to not bore you people with it. 3 more chapters to go�.
