Wow I’m such a moron.
*cough cough* Okok…on with
the story before I die of an ulcer or my inspiration dies of one or something…
*~*~*~*~
Ryou ate quietly with Bakura
at a fast food restaurant. His yami seemed to be apologetic as to what happened
in the morning because he wouldn’t let go of his left hand, keeping their
fingers entwined across the table. Even when Ryou finished Bakura wouldn’t let
him leave to throw the hamburger wrapping out, stubbornly clinging on the boy’s
hand and not letting go. So Ryou sat quietly, the silent moments that passed
seemed to get more and more uneasy.
Finally Bakura gave a loud
sigh, took a deep breath and said, “I really love you Ryou, I adore you.”
Ryou could have been killed
right there and then and he wouldn’t care, what he heard made his heart double
his speed and he could feel the heat rising rapidly into his neck and cheeks.
It was a moment to remember. Bakura rarely said those words to him and when he
did, it was in the privacy of their room under the blankets, whispered out
quickly before a passionate kiss. But the words were said, rolling out of the
thief’s lips and boldly left in the air for Ryou to absorb. The only logical
ting that Ryou could think of saying back was, “I love you too.”
Bakura smiled gently and
bringing Ryou’s hand up to his lips he kissed each knuckle gently.
This caused a few people to
stop and stare, maybe even glare; but at the moment, neither of them noticed,
lost in their own little globe.
“I would never try to hurt
you intentionally Ryou.”
“I know…but-“
“I know what I did to you in
the past was horrible and you don’t know how happy I am that you forgave me and
actually returned my feelings,” Bakura gently nipped at Ryou’s fingertips.
The soft haired hikari was
mesmerized by Bakura’s mouth, watching it move over his fingers and the tingly
sensation every time it slid over a fingertip. “The feelings were mutual
Bakura,” Ryou was beginning to concentrate on keeping his breathing normal;
Bakura was NEVER this bold in public before, “I’m just happy to hear you say
them for yourself.”
Bakura stood up and gently
pulled Ryou up after him, “Come darling, let’s leave.”
With his free hand he tossed the wrappers into the garbage then he very openly
placed his arms around the smaller boy’s waist and led him out of the
restaurant.
Ryou’s heart was turned to
mush at Bakura’s charming actions. Why he was doing them he didn’t know, but
all he knew is that Bakura really loved him, and is not trying to hide anything
from him without a good reason. “I’ve been selfish,” Ryou thought, “I always
knew he was uneasy about exposing himself but I kept on trying to force his
reasons out of him. He’ll tell me one day, I know it.”
Upon leaving, they bumped
into Yami, who was just stepping into the fast food restaurant. Ryou instantly
stopped in the doorway to say hello, “Hi Yami! Never thought
I’d see you come to a place like this!”
The young pharaoh smiled at
Ryou, completely ignoring Bakura, “Yugi is always telling me how great the
hamburger tastes, so I decided that I should come and try out one of the
things.”
Ryou laughed light heartedly,
“Well I hope you enjoy them,” feeling Bakura tug on his arm slightly he took it
as a cue to leave, “I’ll see you later ok? Tell Yugi to give me a call or
something.”
“Will do,” they went their
separate ways.
Yami ordered the hamburger
Yugi always got and sat down alone, looking out the window as he watched Bakura
lead his blushing, giggling hikari down the street, arm
in arm. He couldn’t see how someone as sweet as Ryou could go out with someone
as dark as his yami, the two and two just didn’t seem to fit. He felt jealousy,
he knew it, and what was disturbing was, that he wasn’t jealous of Bakura, he
was jealous of Ryou. It was disturbing him for a few weeks now. Whenever he
sees those two together, he wants to hit Ryou for being with his wild haired
yami. Such thoughts made Yami ashamed of himself; Ryou was so kind and gentle
towards him and tries really hard to be his friend. Meanwhile, Bakura does the
exact opposite. The pharaoh was frustrated, how comes he has mixed emotions
then? He dislikes the one who is friendly to him and is attracted to the one
who wants him dead. He should hate Bakura and he knows it. Bakura is a thief
and a stealer of souls. That male takes pleasure in seeing others in pain; this
he knew, especially all the times he used to abuse Ryou. So why in hell is he
feeling attracted to him? Yami blocked out those thoughts, shoving the hamburger
down as quickly as he could, trying to concentrate on the burger more than
these thoughts which are beginning to haunt him more and more frequently.
Bakura was seething inside;
just seeing that man’s face ruined the rest of his day, despite Ryou’s bright
smiles. He knew he couldn’t stop Ryou from befriending Yami,
he just hates looking at them being friendly towards each other.
His arm unconsciously
tightened around Ryou’s waist, “Where shall we go now?”
Ryou seemed to be still lost
in his happy bubble from what happened earlier, “H-huh? Where? Ummm….” He began
to think of somewhere appropriate to go to, then flushed, “Well…it sounds a bit
cheesy…but do you want to come to my secret spot? I go there to think and no
one else knows where it is. Oh it’s such a cheesy idea…I-“
his words ended when Bakura smothered his lips with a kiss. The little
white haired boy was bright pink by the time they pulled away; once again
Bakura surprised him. His yami NEVER kissed him in public.
There were a few observers,
dismissing them as being, “European, they are all intimate like that…”
Ryou giggled, a newfound
energy surging through him as he pulled Bakura’s arm, “Come on! I’ll show you!”
Malik was placing dishes away
in his cupboard, finding calmness in his silent cleaning when his yami strolled
in, a bottle of beer in his hand, “Cleaning fetish of yours taking over again?”
Malik let out a loud sigh of
exasperation, “For the last time I clean because it’s calming and it’s nice to
not have a mess unlike you,” he noticed the bottle, “Don’t tell me you managed
to unlock the liquor cupboard!”
Marik stared at the bottle in
his hand, “No I got it from the corner store.”
“How?”
The wild haired youth reached
behind his back to display his Millenium Rod, “This.”
The other Egyptian promptly
snatched the item from him, “Dear Ra Marik! I told you time and again to not
fool with it anymore, especially when you stole it from my room!”
Marik coughed, “Technically
it’s mine as well you know. You are beginning to sound like that bloody Pharaoh,
hanging around him all the time.” He took another swig from the bottle.
“I don’t sound like Yami for
Ra’s sake! Why must you always get in my way?! Fuck off!”
Malik’s yami pretended to be
offended, backing off, “Looks like someone is in a shitty mood today, what
climbed up your ass?”
Malik ignored his other and
finished putting the dishes away before stalking to the couch and throwing
himself on it, finding interest with watching blankly at a crack in the wall.
Marik followed his hikari and
sat down beside him, finishing the rest of his beer in silence. After a couple
of moments he said, “You can’t hide it from me for too long you know, hikari.”
The young Egyptian sighed
again, giving up and placed his head on his yami’s shoulder for comfort, “It’s Bakura.”
Malik’s other seemed amused
by this, “Bakura? You actually notice what goes on in his life? I thought
hanging out with Yugi and his little gang keeps you too occupied.”
Malik sounded offended as his
replied, “Of course I notice him! He’s my best friend for Ra’s sake!”
“Sure have a funny way of
expressing it,” his yami drawled.
“What do you mean by that?”
“I mean,” Marik tossed his
empty bottle into the garbage, listening to it shatter as it hit the bottom
before responding, “that Bakura thinks that you don’t like him anymore,
especially the only thing you ever say to him is ‘hi’.”
Malik looked down at his
feet, “I-I didn’t mean to… of course I care about him…I…”
“You love him, don’t you?”
“Do you have to be so direct
about it?” Malik flushed in embarrassment, “I do…and I haven’t been able to let
him go either. After I found out he cared for Ryou, I knew I couldn’t push it.
Can’t you see? I can’t look at him in the eye anymore, that’s why I avoided
him.”
Marik rubbed his hikari’s
back in comfort, “Alright, now I understand; but how come you hid it all from
me?”
“Because
you would probably laugh.”
“What the hell is that?”
Marik leaned forward towards Malik, “I may be a complete psycho sometimes, but
you’re still my hikari. I may have laughed at you in the past, but I wouldn’t
do such a thing anymore. I really care about you.”
Malik’s breathing became
heavy, trying to calm himself down from bursting into tears, “I guess I
should’ve believed Bakura when he said that you’ve changed; I was just a little
too jealous to admit that he’s been hanging with you more than me.”
The wild haired yami burst
into a small bark of laughter, “Hikari, the only reason why is because you have
been neglecting him. Anyways, now that it’s been all solved, back onto the main
topic; what about Bakura?”
Happy to know that Bakura
didn’t hate him and that his yami was actually a caring person, Malik answered,
“Haven’t you noticed his behavior lately? Around Yami I mean, it’s almost as if
he’s paranoid of him.”
Marik nodded, “I noticed that
for a long time now. I knew that Bakura hated the guy, but ever since I told
him that the pharaoh’s memory is coming back, he’s been acting as if he’s
scared instead.”
“It’s subtle, but I have seen
it as well…and I don’t know why he’s so scared. Do you know?”
His other shook his head, “I
may be a yami, but I was created when you were 10. That was barely 5000 years
ago. Whatever must’ve happened took place in ancient Egypt I presume.” Marik lifted his hikari’s face up to meet
his eyes, “How about you ask him? You ARE still his closest friend. He won’t
tell me, but I think he’ll trust you more. You two were pretty close before…you
entrusted him with the secret of the carvings on your back, I’m sure he’ll
trust you with whatever secret he has.”
Malik tried to lower his eyes
again, “But Bakura…is different with these sort of
situations.”
“No he isn’t. Not if you are
his closest friend. Ask him, it’ll maybe do him a bit better to tell.”
“He probably told Ryou
already…” Malik sounded mournful as he said this.
“He hasn’t. He told me he
hasn’t told anyone. Please Malik, give it a try; it’ll make me feel a lot
better to him let it out and you a bit happier.”
Malik was touched,
“Alright…I’ll give it a try then.” He stood up.
Marik stared questionably at
his other, “You’re going now?”
“Better now than later,”
Malik left.
Marik watched the door as it
closed, and continued to stare at it for awhile after, “Yes, it would make me
feel a lot better to see you happier…”
Bakura was tugging
undergrowth from his hair as Ryou dragged him under many canopied bushes, “I
can’t believe they have a forest like this in the middle of a city!” He
grumbled to himself.
“Sorry,” he heard Ryou say
sheepishly as he continued to lead his other through the dense undergrowth, “It
IS a private place after all, no on else knows of this place at all; I just
happened to be at the right place at the right time.” He suddenly stood up;
disappearing from Bakura’s sight and only the view on his behind remained.
Grinning, Bakura ducked his
head and still bent over, charged the last few steps and butted Ryou out from
the opening and tumbled out after him.
“Bakura!” Ryou rolled to save himself from being squashed by
his yami, “You nearly killed me!”
As Bakura turned to make a
smart remark he froze, his mouth frozen midway. Somehow in the middle of all
the dense and crowded bushes and small trees he fought through was a small
bubble of space of which he stood in. Other than the hasty doorway that they
made themselves as they tunneled through, the whole place was sealed up by the
surrounding thick leaves and braced by branches. “Holy shit…how in hell did
this happen?”
Ryou sat down on the ground,
soft from fallen leaves, “I don’t know really…I just fell off a tree in the
forest one day and I thought I was doomed because the bushes were just
underneath me, but then I fell through into this dome,” he picked at the leaves
playfully, “Maybe there was something here before that prevented growth or
something.”
Bakura sat down beside Ryou
and gathered the boy into his arms, “Such a peaceful place, no wonder you’re
such a happy kid,” he stroked his hikari’s hair lovingly, “You know…no one
would be hearing you scream in here…”
Ryou gazed up into his
lover’s eyes, “H-h-huh?”
Bakura flipped Ryou quickly
on his back and tore at his shirt, “I mean, think about it. It’s secluded and
private and cozy, doesn’t that make you think of something?” Diving down he
took the smaller boy into a deep kiss, finally getting his shirt open.
Understanding what Bakura
meant, Ryou kissed his yami back, his hands exploring his other’s body tenderly
as they made love in the secluded spot of the forest.
Malik sat there at Ryou’s
doorstep, waiting for the two white-haired boys to come home. She sun was
halfway down towards the horizon when the two finally came into view, the hair
tangled with branches, their clothes bedraggled and both looking a mess. “Look
what the cat dragged in,” Malik teased and poked Ryou as he came near.
Ryou squeaked, “Malik! Why
would you come here?”
“Just for a
visit. I haven’t talked to you
guys in a while and I thought maybe I could stop by, but looks like you guys
had some other plans.” He smirked at Bakura, who glared back.
“Well….I…um…” Ryou flushed
and tried to change the subject, “Well, how about you come in for awhile? Stay
for dinner?”
Malik shrugged, “Why not?
I’ve got nothing better to do with my life.” He followed the two into the
house.
“I’m going to use the shower
first,” Ryou announced.
“I’ll go with you,” Bakura
began to follow but Ryou pushed him back.
“Not today, I plan in
cleaning up quickly,” Ryou’s comment made Malik laugh, “Besides, I have to make
dinner for the guest. So you’ll just have to wait awhile.”
Bakura furrowed his brow in
frustration, “Fine!”
Ryou giggled and ran up the
stairs, “Lighten up Bakura! You can talk to Malik! I’m sure you two have stuff
to catch up on.”
“You go ahead Ryou,” Malik
called after him, “I’ll entertain Bakura down here. Besides, I want to speak
with him about something anyways.”
As soon as Ryou left Bakura
sat down on the couch in a huff and Malik sat across from him, “What made you
come here anyways? Not like you ever talk to me anymore.”
Malik appeared hurt, “I-I’m
sorry Bakura…really…it’s just…I don’t have much time.”
“Yea,
hanging out with the Pharaoh’s friends.”
The young Egyptian looked
down, as if ashamed, “I know I haven’t been spending much time with you Bakura.
I’m sorry, really I am. That’s why I came over, to catch up…”
“Magically?” Bakura knew he was being rude, but Malik HAS been
ignoring him for awhile now, and he deserved a little attitude. “Suddenly,
after ignoring me for a few months you suddenly want to talk to me again? Did
Yugi’s friends ditch you?”
Malik’s head snapped up to
face him, his eyes wide, “No! It’s nothing like that Bakura! I just needed to
get better acquainted with them! And you got Ryou! That’s why I didn’t want to
interfere because you two were always together! And I…”
“You suck at lying…”
“I…” Malik’s eyes suddenly
teared up and he turned away.
Bakura knew he has gone too
far, he really didn’t mean to upset his best friend that much. He sighed, “Ok
ok…sorry, I was getting carried away there, but I was pissed at you for
ignoring me.”
Malik sniffed, “I know…that’s
why I came, to apologize, and hoping that we would catch up on the old times
and all…and…Marik was getting worried about you and so was I.”
“Huh?” the pale youth became
confused, “Worried? About what?”
The tanned boy wiped his eyes
and moving to sit beside Bakura he continued, “Your behaviour lately, don’t
think I haven’t noticed.”
“Huh?” was the only response
again. Bakura gave Malik an awkward hug to calm him down, feeling really
uncomfortable with the boy suddenly breaking down on him and all, “I’m fine,
really. What makes you think that I’m having problems anyway?”
Malik faced Bakura after
staring at his hands for awhile, “It’s….” He trailed off and twiddled his
thumbs again.
Bakura sighed, “Hello Malik!
I’m your best friend! You can tell me anything and I’ll answer.”
“Yami…”
“What?”
Malik cleared his throat,
“It’s you and Yami. I know you hate him, a lot too. But how come…lately, you
seem to be on edge.”
Bakura gritted his teeth and
for a moment Malik thought he would burst, “He’s getting his memory back…”
“And…”
“That’s a bad thing.”
Malik was confused, and it
bugged him a bit because he was one of the people who helped with his memory,
“But…why would it involve you that much? Sure…your village…and all…but…”
Bakura sighed and put his
head in his hands, “There was more to that than just the basic shit. Oh yea, I
was involved in a whole lot more that just the normal crap that everyone knows
about.”
“Is it…that…bad?” Malik was
beginning to feel bad to helping Yami get his memory back.
“It’s not your fault, you
didn’t know.” Bakura patted the Egyptian’s back, sensing the other’s discomfort.
Malik planned his next words
carefully, “Can you…please tell me about it? I just want to help you through
it…that’s all. If you don’t want to tell…”
Bakura considered this
carefully, “I know I’ve shared everything with you Malik, but…” he thought it
over, “I don’t know how people will think of me.”
“You know very well I won’t
think any more different than I think of you now. You KNOW that Bakura!”
Sighing in defeat, “You can’t
breathe a word of this to any soul, not even to Ryou.”
“Why not him though?”
“Because,” Bakura faced Malik
again to show that he’s serious, “it’s just not a good time right now; plus
I’ve been meaning to forget about it.”
Malik nodded, “I swear to Ra
with every scar I have on my back that I won’t betray your trust.”
The white haired yami leaned
back, satisfied with the response, “Alright…well…let me start at the beginning
then…”
