Say it with Plushies
Chapter 1
@-->-->----
"Kaiba! Hey Kaiba! Wait up a sec!"
Seto Kaiba ignored the irritating voice calling out to him as he made his way from the school's front steps to the gate. Even if he hadn't been in a hurry to make his weekly Tuesday afternoon board meeting, he would never have stopped for this particular voice anyway.
He was almost to his waiting limo when he felt a tug on the sleeve of his uniform. Whirling around, he glared at the annoying blonde who had dared stop him. "Keep your paws to yourself, mutt! I don't know where they've been."
Joey ignored the insult and smirked as he thrust the box he was carrying at the older teen. "Got a present for ya Kaiba. It's kinda a thank you gift."
Kaiba looked down at the box, his sapphire eyes holding an expression rarely seen on his face. Confusion. "What? What have I done that you feel the need to thank me? I don't need your pathetic gift. So why don't you take it and... Wheeler? Wheeler!" But the annoyance that was Joey Wheeler had already raced off.
For a moment, Kaiba considered just dropping the box on the pavement and leaving, but he had to admit to a certain amount of curiosity regarding its contents. As he threw it onto the back seat of the limo, he ignored the little voice in the back of his mind questioning whether that was really the only reason why he was taking Wheeler's gift home.
He managed to contain his curiosity until later that night, but when he opened the box shortly before eleven, he found himself wishing he'd done so earlier. Had he opened it at a more reasonable hour, he could have gone over to Wheeler's and thrown it back in his face. It would be entirely too much trouble to do that now. He'd simply return it to Wheeler at school the next day. Perhaps he could do so in a way that would embarrass the irritating blonde.
Kaiba smirked at the thought, then frowned as he studied the object in question more thoroughly. It looked home-made. Had Wheeler made it himself? Before he realised what he was doing, Kaiba found himself lifting the blonde's 'gift' out of the box to get a closer look at it. As he did so, something fell to the floor. A small stick. Kaiba frowned as it reminded him of a conversation they'd had a few months earlier.
He'd insulted Wheeler's ability to pass any of his classes. As expected, the blonde had retaliated with a claim that he couldn't possibly manage to achieve, thereby falling right into Kaiba's trap. A few well-chosen words and he'd had the hot-headed teen exactly where he'd wanted him. Verbally, at least. They'd agreed on a dare. If Wheeler failed all his classes, then he would have to follow Kaiba around for an entire week, wearing a collar and lead, acting like a dog and obeying Kaiba's every command. If Wheeler did manage to pass though...
Kaiba stared at the stick on the floor in shock as he remembered the blonde boy's words from that day.
"'If I pass even one class, you have to take that stick out of your ass and act like you're human for a week!'"
Not sure he really wanted to know, Kaiba slowly turned Wheeler's gift over in his hands. It was a doll made of fabric. No, 'doll' wasn't right. Kaiba searched his memory for the correct term. Plushie... that was it. This particular plushie looked surprisingly like him, right down to the blue button eyes and the sleek dark hair. It was also naked and anatomically correct to the point of being flattering, at least in the front. It was hard to tell if that was true of the back as well because there was a Band-Aid over its ass.
Kaiba smirked and shook his head. Apparently Wheeler thought 'pulling the stick out' would hurt.

Joey wasn't surprised to see Kaiba waiting by his locker with the box in his arms the following morning. He sauntered up to the brunette and smirked. "Need a bigger Band-Aid?"
Kaiba smirked back and pushed the box into Wheeler's arms. "Why don't you see for yourself." He strode away, leaving the blonde boy blinking in confusion behind him.
Their first class together was English in the second period. Kaiba was surprised to find Wheeler waiting outside the classroom, since he could see Yugi and the others already inside. "Waiting for me? I'm touched."
Joey didn't glare or smirk. He just looked at the brunette with a small frown. "I don't get it."
"So what else is new?" Kaiba raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised when Wheeler's only reaction was a brisk shake of his blonde head.
"No, I mean, I don't get what ya were trying to say with the," he lowered his voice as some other students walked by, "doll."
"Plushie, Wheeler. It is not a 'doll'. When something is made of fabric and is supposed to resemble something or someone, it is called a plushie." Kaiba shook his head. "You made the thing and you don't even know what it is called. Pathetic. Just what I would expect from an idiot."
Joey's eyes glittered with anger, although he managed to keep his voice down when he replied. "I ain't no idiot, Kaiba. But you must be 'cause apparently you didn't get my meanin' when I gave it to ya. I passed, Kaiba. I don't need to do your stupid dare because I passed a class. Which means you gotta..."
Kaiba made a mental note that he'd been right about Wheeler making the plushie. "I understood your 'message' perfectly. Although I admit to being surprised that you managed to actually pass something. What was it? That short Home Economics course the school was running?" He had intended his comment merely as an insult, implying that Wheeler would only be able to pass what was widely known to be the easiest class in the entire school. Much to his surprise, the barb hit its target. He stared as Wheeler's face reddened, then he chuckled. "It was, wasn't it?"
"So what if it was?" Joey's eyes were ablaze as he faced off against Kaiba. "I worked damn hard for that pass! You've no right to laugh! You've no idea..." He pulled himself up short before he blurted out about his dad burning his craft projects. "Anyway, I don't need to do your dare, so what was the message about?"
"You mean the plushie of me with the stick and a collar and lead? It's simple, Wheeler, but I'll say it in small words so you understand."
A smirk caused Kaiba's cold sapphire eyes to gleam. "If you want the stick, then you have to fetch it."
He strode into the classroom, leaving Joey speechless with shock.

Kaiba shook his head when he found Wheeler waiting at the lockers that afternoon. He eyed the box in the blonde's arms and sighed. "Whatever you have to say to me, just say it."
"It's nothin' ya haven't heard before." Joey shoved the box into his arms and was out the door before Kaiba could shove it back at him.
Opening the box, Kaiba eyed the plushie. This time there was no stick in sight. There was just the naked plushie of him... with its hand grasping its fabric member in an obvious message.
Kaiba shook his head. "He's right, I have heard it before. It's hardly the first time he's called me a jerk. Although he's never done it quite like this before." Someone chuckled. It took him a moment to realise the laugh was his own.
"Now how should I..." Kaiba's musing was cut short by a strange noise. Looking around in surprise, he spotted a group of laughing students nearby, clustered around the source of the sound. He smirked. "Perfect."

The limousine pulled up alongside Joey as he walked home. The blonde boy sighed and kept walking, stopping only when the back window went down and a familiar box appeared, followed by a familiar voice saying, "My response."
"Kaiba..." Joey took the box instinctively. Before he could shove it back through the window, the tinted glass had rolled up again and the limo was pulling away from the curb and into the flow of traffic.
Joey sighed and moved off the footpath to stand in the shade of a large tree. He hesitated, then opened the box. One look at the new addition to the plushie made him gasp. He quickly closed the lid and looked around, automatically making sure no one else was looking. When he was sure it was all clear, he cautiously opened the lid again.
The Kaiba plushie stared back at him, seeming to mock him with its blue button eyes. Joey glared back and then his gaze drifted down, to the plushie's member and the item clamped around it.
"Where in the world did Kaiba get a set of chatter teeth?"
@-->-->----
The next morning, Kaiba didn't know what annoyed him more... that he caught himself looking for a certain blonde teenager at the lockers, or the way his heart filled with something he refused to label as anticipation when he spotted him. Whichever it was, he was not in a good mood over it. He was tempted to leave, but his legs were already carrying him more rapidly than he liked towards the irritation that was Joey Wheeler.
Joey smirked as he spotted Kaiba striding towards him, an even frostier glare in his sapphire eyes than usual. "What's the matter, Kaiba? Maid put too much starch in your underwear?"
Kaiba's eyes narrowed. "That would be difficult, since I don't..." He bit off his words, his eyes widening as he tensed, silently cursing to himself. He couldn't believe what he'd just admitted, and to Wheeler of all people!
"You don't wha... Ohhhh!" Joey snickered as he caught on.
Kaiba glared at the infuriating blonde. It was his fault. It had to be his fault. His mind had been perfectly fine earlier that morning, when he'd closed three deals and arranged for a corporate merger over breakfast. It hadn't become foggier than a B grade horror movie until he'd arrived at school and his traitorous imagination had begun to dwell on all the possible responses to his last little message. Never mind the fact that it was *his* mind supplying the images. The whole thing was still Wheeler's fault.
He scowled as the blonde pulled the familiar box out of his bag. He didn't want to take it, yet he felt compelled to. It had become a sort of game between them. A challenge. A dare. Kaiba refused to be the first to back down from it.
Snatching the box out of Wheeler's grasp, Kaiba started to open it. Much to his surprise, another pair of hands suddenly covered his own. They were warm, a little larger than his and slightly damp with sweat, although not unpleasantly so. For a moment, Kaiba was too stunned to do anything more than stare at them. Then someone laughed nearby and broke through his daze, reminding him exactly where he was and why it would not be a good idea for those warm hands to strip him naked and start caressing every inch of his suddenly heated body.
"Wheeler..." Kaiba lifted his eyes to glare at the blonde. He never got a chance to complete his demand to be released immediately.
Joey's expression was one of pure panic. He glanced around and leaned a little closer, lowering his voice. "Kaiba! What are ya doin'? You wanna get caught or somethin'? Open it later!" With a disbelieving shake of his head, he let go and moved away, stopping only long enough to scoop up his backpack as he headed off to class, completely oblivious to the fact that he had just left Seto Kaiba speechless for the first time in either of their lives.
