This was intended to be a sequel to the one-shot ‘In Dreams’, but since this fic doesn’t reach an R rating, I’m just going to add it to this story.
Dreams to Reality

It had been weeks since the dreams had begun for him, weeks since the blue-eyes brunette had first come to him as he slept. Jounouchi had dismissed the first couple of dreams as a fit of hormones, but when they proved to be recurring, he wondered what they meant.
Of course, he did catch the brunette looking at him every now and then, but that was only because he had been looking back. He was indeed attracted to him, in fact, had a growing need for him, but he kept it to himself, knowing for a fact that he would have to be dreaming to be with the brunette, for only then he actually had a chance.
So, when the dreams came, he took them into his heart, took them into his soul. Jounouchi began to depend on the dreams, not caring that in the long run it would hurt him more.
However, there was one thing disturbing about the dreams. He had one, where he visited the brunette and told him how he felt. He was accepted and loved, for who he was. He was ecstatic! He didn’t even know that it was a dream, it was way too intense. But when Jounouchi awoke, it was only that. The knowledge of it nearly broke him, but his will was strong enough, albeit barely.
The day after he had the dream, he managed to go to school, only to find that one Kaiba Seto was not present. Simply brushing it off as one of Seto’s company workdays, Jounouchi prevented himself from worrying about the brunette. But as that day turned into two and that turned into an entire week of school, he began to worry.
Saturday afternoon after school, Jounouchi, along with Yugi, Anzu, Honda and Otogi, went to the park. There they saw Mokuba, a saddened look upon his face. “Mokuba?” Yugi asked. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s Seto,” Mokuba said softly, looking down, using his hair to cover his tear-stained face. “He won’t come out of his room, or talk to anyone... I’m not sure... but sometimes... I think that... I can hear him... crying...”
Jounouchi demanded, “How long has this been going on?”
“Since Sunday,” the younger boy replied. “I’m worried about him...”
Sunday? Jou thought to himself. That was the same night that I had that dream... Snapping out of his thoughts, he saw Yugi looking at him. “Nani?”
“I was saying that one of us should go and check on Kaiba,” Yugi answered. “And since you can usually get a comment out of him, you should go Jou.”
Snatching the chance to see Seto without being conspicuous, the blonde readily agreed. “Sure, Yug’, I’ll go, whenever Mokuba’s ready.”
At hearing this, Mokuba cheered up a great deal. “Really?”
“Of course.”
Mokuba ran to Jounouchi and gave him a hug. “Thanks so much!”
Jounouchi returned the hug and gave a grateful look to Yugi, who simply nodded and smiled. “Let’s go Mokuba.”

When they arrive at the Kaiba Manor, Mokuba led Jou silently up to the hall that held his brother’s room. “It’s the last one on the left,” he whispered. “Good luck.”
“Thanks, I’ll need it,” Jounouchi replied, patting Mokuba on the head. “Although, hopefully, I won’t.” He gave him a reassuring smile, trying to ease his fears. “You go on ahead, I’ll take over from here.” Mokuba nodded and left. After Mokuba had gone, Jounouchi took a deep breath and focused his gaze upon the closed door. Here goes nothing, he thought. He began to take slow quiet steps towards the door, his eyes never leaving that door. When he reached it, he took another deep breath and released it before putting his hand upon the doorknob and turning it.
When the door swung open, the sight that met him was horrifying for Jounouchi. What had happened to the strong, cold, and ruthless Kaiba Seto? Who was this being who inhabited his body? The man lying on the bed staring blankly into space was clearly a broken man. If Jounouchi couldn’t see the slight movement of his chest, he would think that he was dead. The horror quickly passed, an intense sadness replacing it. The blonde moved over to the side of the bed, looking down at the brunette all the while. He placed a hand upon Seto’s cheek, looked into the lifeless azure eyes, and whispered pleadingly, “Seto?”
There was a small flicker of recognition inside those eyes; a little bit of life seemed to enter them. “Jounouchi...?” His voice was barely above a whisper, sounding like a dry rasp. “Am I... dreaming again...?”
A shock went through Jou at hearing that. Dreaming? He had to find out more about this kind of dream. “Why would you be dreaming, Seto?”
“Because... you’re here... and you’re calling me Seto...” the other replied, raising a hand to place over the blonde's that still remained on his cheek. “You feel real... but you did in the dreams too...”
He’s dreamt of me too, Jounouchi thought. “What happened in these dreams?”
“You came to me. You told me that you loved me, and I wasn’t alone anymore... but then, I’d wake up and I was alone, yet again...” Sapphire eyes glistened with tears that threatened to fall, but did not.
Jou smiled faintly, for he too had had the same dreams, with the same results: waking up alone. “You’re not dreaming. Everyone’s worried about you. I’m worried about you. You’re slipping away... from everyone... from Mokuba... from me. You can’t survive on dreams, Seto...”
His words appeared to have stirred something within Seto. He lost that blank and lifeless look as he stopped looking at the ceiling to focus upon the blonde. “They’re all I have,” he responded softly.
“No, they’re not.” Comforting amber smiled down at fearful blue. “Dreams are only the prelude to reality.” Jounouchi slowly leaned down and placed a gentle but passionate kiss upon Seto’s lips. He brought himself back up to look into his eyes. “Trust me, okay?”
Seto searched the blonde’s gaze, and he found love, trust, determination, and willingness. However, to him, it seemed as if Jou’s eyes shone brighter now than at any time he had ever them. It made the eyes that he had seen in his dreams fall into a pale shadow when compared to what he was seeing now. That gave Seto hope. He would give it one last chance. “I trust you,” he whispered.
Jounouchi’s eyes brightened even more with his happiness as he heard that. “Thank you.” He bent down and kissed the CEO’s forehead, then moved to lie in the bed beside him, draping an arm across the other’s waist. “You can’t scare me like that again, Seto; I was so worried about you.”
Seto placed his arm over Jou’s and replied, “If I’m dreaming, I don’t want to wake up.”

Jounouchi sat up in bed, trying to figure out what woke him so suddenly. He looked around, and it registered in his half-asleep brain that he was in the bed, and in the room alone. It had been only a dream? Jou thought, then cursed loudly when he realized it to be so.
Just after he had finished a string of creatively crafted curses to vent his pain, the door opened. “What’s wrong with you?” the voice from his dreams asked.
“Huh?” The blonde looked at the door, lifting his head so fast that he nearly gave himself whiplash. Blue eyes smiled at him from across the room. “Where’d you come from?”
“The kitchen,” Seto replied, crossing over to the bed and sitting on it. “You said that I needed to start eating normally again, so I had an apple.” He looked at Jounouchi closely, seeing that something was the matter. “Is something wrong?”
So it wasn’t a dream after all. Jou smiled and shook his head. “I love you, Seto.”
“I love you too, Katsuya.”
