Chapter
20: The Move In

As I exited the building the limo had already arrived.
So I only had to jump in and tell the driver where the next destination would
be.

It took about fifteen minutes to get to downtown were
Ryou and Bakura would wait for a ride to their new home. I wonder if Bakura has
told Ryou that I know about him and the Millennium Ring, or if Ryou would try
and hide it all from me� Well, I just have to see right?

And as the car slowed down to a stop and I saw Ryou
outside the building and he seemed to be bothered by some old lady.

I got out of the car and walked up to him �Hi Ryou� I
smiled at him and he smiled back with a faint blush. The old lady inspected me
for a while before she spoke up.

�Are you the one young-Bakura is going to live with?�
she asked glaring daggers at me.

�Yes�

�Do his parents know about you?�

�Not that I know of� I was already getting annoyed at
her.

�Do you know of his�� She looked around before she
continued �About his� you know� condition?�
she whispered out the last part, Ryou looked really bothered by her.

�Are you his legal guardian?� I asked her as the
chauffeur collected Ryou�s bags and put them in the trunk of the limousine.

She snorted at me �No�

�Then he�s no longer any of your concern, you are not
obligated to see him off� I turned my head towards Ryou �Let�s leave� he
nodded, then I turned toward the little ghoul once again �Good day�

�Sayonara obaa-san� Ryou said with a small polite bow.

�I must tell you young man; that boy will be your
downfall!� She said �He is the son of a demon I tell you� she spat at the
ground before her.

I saw the hurt look in Ryou�s eyes and she had really
pissed me of �Listen to me you old hag, if you call Ryou that once more I�ll
kill you!�

�He will
kill you in your sleep� I narrowed my eyes.

�The only one he would want to kill is you, after
bad-mouthing him this much, but still I would beat him to it�

The chauffeur opened the door for Ryou and me and we
got into the car and then we drove away towards Kaiba mansion.

�Thank you for standing up for me Kaiba-san� Ryou said
looking down at his lap.

�I couldn�t stand the way she talked about you, and
please don�t call me Kaiba just call me Seto� I smiled towards him.

He looked up at me with a huge beaming smile �Sure�
Seto-san� then he looked down on his lap again �Um� what she said about my�
condition� well�� He looked up and straight into my eyes �You know that Yugi
has another soul in his body right?�

I nodded �Yes, I do know of that�

Ryou let out a sigh of relief �That�s good, it will
make things a bit easier�� he said and fished up the Millennium Ring from under
his shirt �I have one too� he said �But mine is unlike Yugi�s, mine is an evil
stealer of souls as Mou Hitori no Yugi would like to
call him, but he is not so evil as both obaa-san and my friends says!�
Ryou looked down again and I heard him sob.

�They don�t understand Bakura as well as I do� He
looked up �Bakura is what we call my �second self��

I just nodded and then Ryou continued to tell of his
and Bakura�s story, about how his sister died in a terrible disease and how his
parents sent him from Osaka to Domino just because of Bakura�s punishing the
people who were bad to Ryou, which they of course thought Ryou had done� and
how he had met Yugi and the others (which of course accrued after I was sent to
the Shadow Realm by the stupid Pharaoh)

Then the car stopped and we were outside the Kaiba Mansion.
As Ryou and I walked up to the door, some servants
came running to collect Ryou�s bags and Ryou continued his story which ended
oddly enough with him getting here�

�Why did you tell me all of this?� I asked him and he
gave me a questioning look �I mean why did you tell me, a total stranger, all
of this? I might think you are crazy or schizophrenic or something alike�

�I trust you!� He beamed again.

�Why?� I asked �Why don�t you think of as a jerk like
the rest of Yugi�s friends?�

�Yugi doesn�t think you are a jerk, even though Mou
Hitori no Yugi does� and I don�t think you are a jerk since you asked me to
come here and live with you and your brother, you must have seen something the
others didn�t, maybe that�s why I felt confident enough to tell you the truth!�
he beamed.

Well I�m not the one to fight against such a beaming
smile�
