Chapter 25 – I want your girlfriend to be my girlfriend
It was the final day of the ever-prestigious Senior Sanctuary and everything was coming to an end rather conveniently. Seto and Otogi were merrily chattin a n a corner when a very familiar multicoloured hairstyle happily bounced into the room and came up two the two lovers. The two older men were almost completely unaware of the small one and his older and slightly taller companion until a pair of arms lovingly wrapped themselves around Otogi’s waist… and they weren’t Seto’s.
Otogi jumped and looked down into another pair of jeweled eyes.
“Yu-Yugi? Is that you?” he fly mly managed to get out.
Yugi nodded and nuzzled into Otogi’s stomach while Ryou and Seto looked on and laughed while Otogi merely seemed distressed.
“Otogi-kun! You and Seto-kun look so kawaii together! I’m so happy for you two.” Yugi beamed.
“Uh-huh, and thanks to kareoke night, so is everyone else in the school… Well, except one homicidal Millennium Spirit who shall remain nameless.” Ryou added, nodding.
“So squirt, what’s with the lack of jewelry?” Seto chuckled, ruffling Yugi’s spiked hair.
“Well, I took the Puzzle off, it’s playing the part of a glorified paperweight on my desk back in the cabin. As long as I am separated from the Puzzle, our link is severed and he can’t take over my body so you guys are all safe.” Yugi replied.
“Paperweight, eh?” Seto mused, remembering *that* all too well.
“But what about when you go back to your cabin?” Otogi asked.
“Well, the closer I get to the Puzzle, the stronger Yami’s powers become and the harder it is to resist his influence. But as long as I keep my distance, I’m alright.” Yugi said, quietly.
“But don’t you have to pack the Puzzle or wear it in order to go back home? You can’t just leave the item here, can you?” Seto inquired.
“Of course not. Eventually, I am going to have to face Yami and it’s not going to be pretty. My logic is that the longer he has to cool down, the less chance he would actually harm me.” The small one replied.
“Well, that and I don’t think even Yami is stupid enough to harm the boy whose vessel he shares.” Ryou added.
“Besides, I have my protector.” Yugi said, leaving Otogi and pouncing on Ryou, wrapping his arms around the innocent Ring bearer. Needless to say, Ryou let out a little noise of shock and blushed a deep red against his white hair and causing Seto and Otogi to burst out in laughter.
“So, are you two going to the campfire tonight?” Ryou asked, trying desperately to change the subject.
“I don’t think so, I just want to sneak out and head home early.” Otogi sighed.
“And since I no longer give a flying fuck about anything the teachers say, I think we’re going to make a break for it in the very near future” Seto added.
“That’s so cool!” Yugi beamed, “Although, everybody is going to want to see you two cuddling next to the campfire together…”
“That’s exactly why I want to go home early.” Otogi responded.
“Touché.” Ryou said finally.
“We should go pack, Otogi.” Seto said.
“Alright, you go on ahead, I want to chill here for a little longer.” Otogi answered.
“Well, we’re going to head back to the cabin for a few minutes, we’ll try and separate all the hair products into Otogi’s and ours before he gets there, hopefully we’ll cut down your packing time. We might as well pack anyway.” Ryou suggested.
“Thanks guys, now I’m off to mingle! In fact, for being so generous you two, here are the keys to my car, as I doubt you have a ride home.” Otogi said, giving Yugi his keys and walking casually away from the group. Yugi and Ryou both stared at the keys for a moment before doing their own little happy dances.
“Now you two be careful.” Seto whispered to Yugi and Ryou, “I have a bad feeling Yami is going to do everything in his power short of mind crushing you both to get out of that Puzzle.”
“Don’t worry, Seto. We have everything under control.”
Not an hour later, back at Yugi’s cabin, he was merrily packing his things when a voice came into his ears.
/Come on… Let me out, Yugi./ Yami’s voice was unmistakable. /I won’t massacre anyone, I just want to stretch my legs, I will go right back into the Puzzle when I’m done, I promise./ Yugi’s head snapped up to see the Puzzle, calling his name from the desk, acting all innocent, but Yugi knew better.
/No Yami, you’ll just hurt my friends./
/Yugi. You don’t understand…/
/Yami! You tried to kill Otogi-kun!/
/Yugi… just come closer, and we’ll talk about it./ Yami cooed, using all the raw seduction he was taught over the millennia, he could probably seduce a chair if that is what he desired.
Yugi got up and hesitantly took a step closer to the desk where the Puzzle sat.
Ryou, who was watching this take place, finally realized a telepathic conversation was going on and practically leapt from his place on the bed to stop Yugi from making a terrible mistake.
“Yugi, stay away from the Puzzle! You don’t know what will happen if Yami is unleashed again!” he exclaimed.
“Ryou, you’re overreacting, as long as I don’t put the Puzzle around my neck, Yami can’t hurt me!” Yugi said, reaching out to touch the puzzle.
/…that’s right Yugi… just a little closer…/ Yami prodded encouragingly.
“Yugi! He’s already taken over your mind! Bakura, help me!” Ryou yelled, letting the Millennium Ring glow and allowing Bakura to take over and hold Yugi’s hands behind his back.
“Yugi, listen to me, I’m not going to let you endanger yourself or your friends by getting too close to the Millennium Puzzle.” Bakura chided.
“Ry—Bakura? I told you, I’m alright, it’s ok.” Yugi said, twisting around to look Bakura in the eyes and smile warmly, “Now, just let me go so I can take the Puzzle apart and bury all the pieces separately.”
/What?! Whoa! That was not part of the arrangement! Oh wait, I get it, you’re just trying to get Bakura to let you go… You cunning bastard, I have rubbed off on you!/ Yami mused.
“Alright, if you think this is what you want, to be rid of the Puzzle forever.” Bakura said, reluctantly letting Yugi out of his grasp.
Yugi sighed and quickly grabbed the Puzzle in his hands. But strangely, the Puzzle began to glow and suddenly Yugi couldn’t take it anymore, screaming out as the light engulfed the little room…
“Yu-gi-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!”
Then the light subsided and Bakura waft tft to unshield his eyes and look into the very angry crimson orbs of none other than the former Pharaoh himself, setting the Puzzle back around his neck, where it belonged.
“Yami! Uh… you’re back! Good to see you, how was the time inside the Puzzle?” he said nervously before mentally adding, ‘Oh shit, I’m in trouble now… Damn Yugi, why couldn’t you have just listened to the Ra-damned priest and I wouldn’t be in this mess…’
Before he knew it, Bakura was pinned up against the wall, nothing but malice and hatred in Yami’s eyes and pure sadism in his voice.
“Now Bakura, you sided with the Yugi! Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t send you to “the Shadow Realm” in the chipmunk’s place!”
“Actually, I have three reasons. Number one, I’ve been there recently and I don’t think I’ve had my Frequent Shadow Realm Visitor shots.” Bakura offered.
“…Those be be arranged.” Yami said, showing his perfectly filed nails, filed to a deadly point. Bakura “eep”-ed and continued on,
“Number two, the place really needs redecorating. I mean nobody has so much as touched it for five thousand years, it’s really no place for a tourist.” Bakura pleaded.
“Than why don’t I put you personally in charge of the redecoration committee… permanently?” Yami suggested, the Eye of Horus beginning to glow on his forehead.
“Number three, if you get rid of me, you won’t have anyone who will fuck you or be fucked by you on a frequent, consensual basis.” Bakura tried again, putting emphasis on the word consensual, thereby striking Seto from the possible equation in Yami’s mind.
“Now that… “ Yami took a moment to contemplate, “…is a very good reason.” He said, picking Bakura up and throwing him onto the bed, pouncing on him, and ripping off all his clothes…
‘Otogi better be happy, if he had any idea what I go through to keep him alive…’ Bakura thought as Yami came inside him… again.
Meanwhile, Seto was just about finished packing all of his things, so he stretched his lithe body out on the bed and proceeded to drift off into a very satisfying nap, dreaming of his raven lover and all the various interesting sexual positions they haven’t tried yet…
In another of of the northern getaway, Otogi had finished his lengthy conversation with Croquet. Both men had agreed if Pegasus should ever come out of his hiding place and back into the Duel Monsters main arena, it would be a glorious day for everyone and the Duelist Kingdom would reign supreme once more. Otogi promised he would come and visit Croquet in the lonely castle when he was there for an extended period of time, away from the game shop, and Croquet thanked the entrepreneur for the offer of employment, which he could not, in good faith, turn down.
“I take it you and Kaiba-san will not be attending our festivities tonight?” Croquet asked of his companion.
“Alas I am afraid not, I think we’ve both had enough public displaying of affection for one weekend.” Otogi answered as Croquet burst out laughing, agreeing it was probably the best course of action, given the situation and the general uneasy feelings of the staff. It wasn’t as though this was a common occurrence or anything and normally they would harshly reprimand the perpetrators; however, because it was Seto and Otogi involved and both not only carried high social status and could probably buy out the school division if they were given any problems, but could be very intimidating when they wanted to be, the teachers were apprehensive. Dare they punish the two entrepreneurs at the risk of the wrath of both Industrial Illusions and the Kaiba Corporation?
Eager to get back home with his koi, Otogi bid farewell to Croquet and began the short walk to his cabin. Evening was beginning to fall upon the forest, but thankfully, there was still enough light for the dark haired man to make his way through the trees. Twigs and sticks snapped under his footfalls, but he didn’t really notice as he threw the dice he held in his hands up in the air and catching them just as easily now when there was little light as he would have when it was broad daylight. Thoughts of his lover consumed him as he walked, playing with his dice as he went, he couldn’t wait to get home and be alone with his CEO in addition to getting back to work himself. These things occupied Otogi’s mind and soon enough, he was in front of his cabin and casually pushed the door open.
‘Damn Yugi, I had no idea you were as addicted to sex as your yami. Man, Ryou doesn’t look that great…’ Otogi thought as he walked into the cabin to see his things neatly folding atop his bed, looked like Yugi decided to help him with a little more than his many hair products. However, he also noticed the quivering ball curled up on Yugi and Ryou’s blood soaked bed. He moved over to see who it was, but he really couldn’t tell the difference between the sleeping tomb robber and hikari. If it was Ryou, he looked just as innocent as always, but it could have just as easily been Bakura, as naive as a sleeping child. Otogi smiled and ran his fingers through the soft, white hair as he decided to let the other sleep as he went into the bathroom to gather his things.
Once in the bathroom, Otogi saw that he really looked like hell, not having done anything to himself in almost three days. Almost instantly, he whipped out his eyeliner pencil and set to work. Realizing the mirror wasn’t at his eye level, he grabbed a nearby chair and sat down to deal with his appearance, imagining Yugi was the last person to use the mirror and he was the shortest of the three men in the room, just as Otogi was the tallest by quite a bit. Quickly dealing with his eyes in the ways of both eyeliner and mascara (a/n: what is a bishounen without eye makeup?), he took his long, ebony hair down and started to brush through it. Of course, Otogi had to be one of those people who lived by the motto that one had to brush every strand of one’s hair at least one hundred times every night for it to remain healthy, so he closed his eyes and began to count as the brush danced through the dark, silken strands.
But not all was as it seemed, as a pair of arms landed softly on his shoulders and wrapped around his neck as a body pressed up against his from behind. Otogi could feel the hot breath of the other on his ear and let his eyes remain closed.
“Seto, I didn’t think you’d be finished so soon, I must have spent more time talking with Croquet than I thought.” Otogi said, leaning a little into the embrace of the other man.
His remarks only managed to get him a deep growl from the othethrothroat as the arms tightened around his neck to the point where he was having trouble breathing.
“Seto’s not here.” A dark voice growled, “And now, I finally have you in my clutches.”
Otogi thought he recognized the voice as his eyes shot open. There, in the mirror’s reflection, he could see clear as day, that it was, in fact, not Seto who was coiled around him, but Yami. He gasped and let the brush drop from his hand, it was all he could do to pull the spirit’s arms far enough from his throat so he could speak.
“I thought Yugi trapped you in the Puzzle and started using it as a paperweight…”
“Yugi is weak and pathetic.” Yami replied, his voice smoas tas the finest silk on Seto’s bed.
“What do you want from me?”
“From you? Nothing really. It’s your boyfriend I want.”
“Seto? I thought he told you he never wanted to see you again.”
“He did. I just have to make him see what a fool he’s been. Which really won’t be that difficult, knowing he’s been spending his time with you. Honestly, he could do so much better.”
“And better is you, I assume?”
“But of course.”
“How did you get out of the Puzzle?” Otogi demanded, but Yami pushed him, chair and all, up against the wall and leaned in so he could see every one of Otogi’s features, sneering almost predatorily over the dice master.
“I thought I told you that already, Yugi’s mind is easily broken and it was child’s play to influence the young one into doing exactly what I wanted him to. Of course, his little boyfriend in waiting, Ryou, didn’t want to have any of it and called his Tomb Robber yami to come and save him and Yugi from me. Why do you foolish mortals think I can be stopped? It matters not. But, as all things seem to be, he was far too late, as I had already convinced Yugi to free me from my eternal prison. I assume you remember seeing Bakura’s punishment as you walked in the cabin, hmmm?” Yami paused as Otogi gasped in shock, his eyes growing wide, fearful of what Yami had in mind for him, “Don’t worry, I am not planning on doing to you what I did to him, you’re not that important to me. He’s truly used to the pain anyway, he’s just consumed with the guilt of not being able to protect his weak hikari. To think I was once like that, taking Yugi’s commands above my own agenda, to think I let that runt order me around. I should have killed that High Priest long ago when I had the chance, but no, Yugi didn’t want me to hurt his pathetic friends. I can’t believe how long it took for me to develop a backbone and tell Yugi to go fuck himself because I wasn’t going to be his lapdog servant anymore. Too bad I know if the tables had been reversed, Seto would have killed me without a passing thought. Not that I would blame him, the Shadow Games of the ancient times run through his veins, losing almost always meant death unless it was a practice game between members of court. No, I’m not going to take you as I did Bakura, frankly, you’re of little use to me alive if you go against my wishes.”
Otogi swallowed hard, words barely forming in his throat.
“…And your wishes are?”
“To get my lover back, which means you have to leave Seto.”
“But Seto has made it perfectly clear he wants nothing to do with you.”
“Insolent fool!” Yami yelled as he pushed himself from Otogi before delivering an unforgiving slap to the side of the emerald-eyed face, “Do you think I give a damn about what Seto thinks he wants? I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t even believe what he’s been telling you. I know he’s just using you to forget me. I’ve seen the way he looks at me, I know he still wants me; I’ve seen the fire in his eyes. I will harness that fire, Otogi, with or without your help. Now, you can leave him willingly, allowing me to move in and reclaim what is mine, or you can try and keep Seto from his destiny. I want Seto back, and, mark my words, I will have him. Know that I would have no regrets about killing you if you dare stand in my way, do you understand?”
“You might as well kill me now then, because I have no intention of leaving the man I’ve given my heart to.” Otogi said, standing up and throwing the chair across the small bathroom, trying to use his height advantage as intimidation against the much smaller former Pharaoh. Said Pharaoh only smirked and lashed out, griping Otogi’s throat with one hand and pulling the game creator close to his face, his hand tightening and forcing Otogi to his knees before him.
“That’s the smartest thing I think I’ve heard you say since I met you. In fact, I’ve wanted you dead for so long, there will be so much more satisfaction in killing you now. I almost want Seto here to watch this.” Yami said, leering over Otogi, who was thrashing wildly to escape, and tightening the grip around his neck, to the point where Otogi couldn’t breathe and was beginning to black out, “Oh come now, Otogi, I would have expected so much more from you, giving up already. But then again, you’ve disappointed me in more ways than one already, how dare you even think you can move in and steal my lover of more than five thousand years. It does not bode well to steal the harem of Egyptian royalty, oh wait, you wouldn’t have known that because you weren’t in Egypt all those millennia ago.” Yami slapped Otogi harshly with his free hand, the latter’s vision starting to fade, “This is the end of you, Otogi, give my regards and my best to the Reaper of the Cards…”
Otogi blacked out, but no sooner had he done so the hold around his throat disappeared. His own hands flew to his neck and protected himself as he drew in deep breaths, awaiting the return of his eyesight and the reason for his salvation. He flinched as he heard groaning from all around him and he forced his eyes open, his vision bl at at first, but slowly clearing.
There, leaning against the doorframe, was Bakura, his arm still outstretched. He was obviously exhausted, and collapsed into the room. Otogi was quick to catch him, though, and noticed with a faint blush the former tomb robber came to his rescue dressed in nothing but the Millennium Ring. The thief managed to pull himself out of Otogi’s arms and into a sitting position. Realizing his clothing predicament, he grabbed a towel and wrapped it around his waist, much to Otogi’s relief.
“Thank you, Bakura.” Otogi finally said.
“Don’t mention it. But in the future, watch your back, the Pharaoh is out for blood.”
“Speaking of blood, why do you let him do what he does?” Otogi said, getting up and walking over to Bakura, setting his hand over the spirit’s chest and tracing all of the scars and fresh whip wounds over the lightest ivory skin, “Why do you let him hurt you?”
Bakura turned away from Otogi’s touch,
“Because he’s the Pharaoh.”
“Bakura, that can’t be the only reason.” Otogi turned him around again to see tears in the big brown eyes, “You need to be with someone who treats you as you deserve to be treated. Yami doesn’t know what kind of sweet, caring lover he has, and he obviously doesn’t treat you well…”
“Otogi can you just drop it? I was his slave in Egypt, I am his slave now, and I will be his slave for the rest of eternity. There is nothing I can do.”
“You really love him, don’t you?”
Bakura was taken aback by the bluntness of the question, but nodded after a moment.
“More than anything in this world, I only wish he could see that and not be blinded by his lust for Seto. Regardless, I would never be unfaithful to the one I care for so much—wouldn’t you not be in my position if it were Seto and not Yami? Don’t you love him as I love my Pharaoh?”
This time, Otogi took a cautious step back,
“Forgive me, I never thought of it that way.”
“Tell me, is everything we’ve done worth it, do you love him?” Bakura snapped, Otogi couldn’t honestly answer the question—he didn’t know, so he thought it best to change the subject.
“So… What did you do just now, to save me from him?” The ancient thief scowled at the abrupt change in the conversation, but decided not to press further, this delicate situation will force the other to look at his relationship and decide just what he’s going to do. Either, he will realize that whatever he feels for his CEO is lust and he will leave, fearing for his life, or, he’ll stay by his love’s side until the end, whenever that may be, not caring at all what part Yami will have to play in all this. Despite Otogi’s own indecisiveness, Bakura already knew the answer to his question, he could see it in those emerald depths, he just had to wait until Otogi realized it for himself.
“Shadow Magic, I was previously weakened, but I had just enough energy left to hit him for all I was worth, thankfully it worked.”
Otogi nodded and look over to where Yami lay. He noticed the monarch had hit his head on the shower on the way down and was completely out cold, bleeding a little from a gash on his forehead. Correction, the Pharaoh had retreated to his Soul Room just in time, meaning it was Yugi who was out cold on the bathroom floor.
Bakura got up and carefully pulled the Millennium Puzzle from around Yugi’s neck, placing it around his own. Both ancient artifacts clinked against one another as Otogi picked Yugi up and laid him down on his bed, the bump on his head apparent as Bakura brought over a bag of ice which Otogi promptly put on the youngest one’s head to stop the swelling.
Noticing the piles of clothes on the bed, Bakura set to work putting all of Otogi’s things in his bag and told him to go and find Seto so they could head home, he could look after Yugi.
“Then give me the Puzzle.”
Bakura looked at him with amazement,
“What did you say?”
“Well, we’ve established that Yami can only take over Yugi’s body when Yugi is touching the Puzzle, so if we keep the Puzzle away from Yugi, we keep Yami away, too. Besides, you look like you need a break from your protector job, not that we don’t love you for it, but you look like death hit with a steamroller. Anyway, what better way to keep the Puzzle away from Yugi than to give it to me?” Otogi suggested.
Bakura pondered for a moment, then nodded.
“You’re right, with you in possession of the Puzzle, Yami cannot manifest himself, unless he can take over Seto, which I doubt. Just be careful, Yami’s mind is powerful, he might try to overwhelm you into giving the Puzzle back to Yugi, which will not be good for you.” Bakura said, standing up and taking the Millennium Puzzle from around his neck to put it around Otogi’s, “Yoow, ow, it looks half decent on you. Now go run off with Seto. You deserve it after what you’ve been through.”
Otogi nodded and grabbed his stuff, heading for the door, but stopped before he was completely out.
“Bakura, was Yami serious whe sai said he would have nothing against killing me if it meant he’d get Seto back?”
“I’m afraid so, in his time, he was known as a ruthless ruler who did whatever he could tt wht what he wanted. He still has that vengeful confidence and thinks there is no person alive who could defeat him and claim something of his… until you came along and stole his beloved High Priest from him. With only one lover in his bed, Yami grew bitter and the ruthlessness returned. I know for a fact, ou eou ever cross him again, especially as you did today, you may not live through the encounter. Tread cautiously, Otogi.” Bakura said as Otogi finally left the cabin. Then he turned his attention back to Yugi.
“Forgive me, little one. It isn’t fair that you suffer for the actions of the spirit whose vessel you share. Yami once said he wanted no harm to come to you, who would have known it would be because of him that you are in so much pain…
Once outside of the cabin, the sudden chill of the mountain breeze forced Otogi to pull his white duster more tightly around himself as he walked through the forest on the way to the parking lot where Seto was already waiting, leaning against his red Celica and toying mindlessly with his keys. Thoroughly shaken by the recent events concerning Yami, Otogi was lost in his thoughts as he slid gracefully and soundlessly into the front passenger seat, leaving Seto to look confused and get in the driver’s seat.
“Ready to go?” he asked, making sure all their stuff was in the back seat.
“Wha?” Otogi asked, snapping out of his thoughts, “Oh yeah, let’s get on the road, the sooner we get home, the better.”
Sensing his boyfriend’s distress, Seto started the car and pulled out of the parking lot and into the night. As they sped out and onto the road, the two men sat in silence, or at least what Seto thought was silence.
‘I will kill you to get what I want if I have to…’ Yami’s voice came into Otogi’s mind.
Seto irked and eyebrow as Otogi’s head whipped around, as if trying to find out where some sound was coming f
‘Leave me alone, as long as I possess the Millennium Puzzle, you’re powerless.’ Otogi screamed back at the voice in his head.
“Something wrong, Otogi?” Seto managed over his lover’s inner musings.
“Nothing, I’m just fine, just thinking, that’s all.”
Seto nodded and turned his attention to the road as Otogi turned his back inwards. However, Yami was not to be denied and only stayed silent for short time.
‘You know he doesn’t want you, he just wants to use you to forget me.’ he cooed into Otogi’s thoughts.
‘Liar!’
‘Time will tell, Otogi… Time will tell…’
During his latest spat, Otogi decided the car was too hot for him to stay in comfortably and slipped out of his trench coat, throwing it into the back seat. He saw Seto’s eyes bug out as he relaxed into the passenger seat, but still neither man said anything and the trip continued in silence.
But Seto did not miss the Millennium Puzzle hanging innocently around his lover’s neck. He decided not to ask, for he feared he did not want to know the answer. He watched out of the corner of his eye as he drove and saw Otogi unknowingly fondle the Puzzle around his neck. His damned curiosity got the better of him (again) and, the first chance he got, he pulled over into a discreet part of the forest where he could stop and finally get some answers out of his koi. He found the place he was looking for and stopped, pulling the key out of the ignition and turning to Otogi.
“Otogi, don’t get me wrong, but why in the Seven Hells are you wearing that piece of junk.” He said, pointing at the offending item.
The dark haired dungeon master looked skeptically at his boyfriend, then back down at the Puzzle in his hands. He knew exactly what answer he was going to give to the question; however, he felt a more pressing question needed to be asked first.
“Seto, would you ever leave me and go back to Yami?”
Needless to say, it wasn’t the response the blue-eyed man had expected. His head snapped up from where his eyes had been resting on the Puzzle and he stared slack jawed at his koi, the words barely forming at the back of his throat the they had even more trouble trying to make it past his lips,
“What?”
“Just answer my question.” Otogi replied, almost bitterly, “Do you feel anything for Yami now?”
Seto could only blink for a few moments and shake his head in disbelief.
“Of course not—after what he did to me, if I ever saw him again, it will be too soon, figuratively speaking of course, because we see him everyday. I don’t know what could possibly have possessed you to ask me that? If I had my way, I’d do everything in my power to forget I was ever associated with him.”
‘Oh, what did I tell you? Straight from the horse’s mouth… so to speak. He’s just trying to forget me and you just happened to be at the right place at the right time. He doesn’t want you for anything serious, just a casual fuck every now and again. He doesn’t care for you.’ Yami spoke softly in Otogi’s mind, making a brief reappearance.
“Shut up!” Otogi screamed, clutching his temples, tears streaming down his cheeks as he practically tore the Millennium Puzzle off his neck and throwing it violently in the back seat before collapsing forward against his seatbelt, his forehead resting on the heel of his hand, his fingers lost in his wild black locks. He was breathing heavily and didn’t even notice the shocked and slightly panicked expression of his lover.
“Otogi… Otogi! Otogi, what’s wrong?” he asked, worried, setting a hand on the shoulder of his beloved and feeling his heart almost explode out of his chest as Otogi shrugged his hand off and moved as far from him as he could get.
“That’s exactly what he told me you would say.”
“What are you talking about? Who told you?”
“Yami. He told me you still wanted him. And that he was going to come and take you back.”
Seto sat in shock, not wanting to believe what Otogi just told him.
“Never.”
“What?”
“I will never leave you for him. I have never felt anything for him that even comes close to what I feel for you—an attraction and an adoration I cannot even put into words at this point. And know that I will never do anything to hurt you.” Seto reached out and took Otogi’s free hand in his own, rubbing his thumb over it gently.
“What would you do for me?”
“Anything you ask of me.”
“Would you leave me and go back to him if I asked it of you? If I left you and demanded you return to him, would you?”
“No.”
“Why not? You said it yourself you would do anything I asked you to do, why not that?”
“Because I also said I would never leave you and that promise is more important. One thing I cannot forsake, even if the gods themselves demanded it, is my heart and I will not sacrifice happiness for Yami. I care for you too much to bear to leave you, I assure you of that.”
Otogi finally looked up and turned to Seto, who in turn, wiped the tears of his boyfriend’s face.
“And if I left you first?” Otogi asked.
“I would never even consider going back to him, even if you told me to. I am not going to lie to myself and I’m not going to lie to you. But why are you asking me this?”
“Yami threatened me.”
“What?” Seto almost choked on the word.
“I don’t know how it happened, but Yami somehow convinced Yugi to put the Puzzle back on and took over. He told me he was going to get you back because you still wanted him and would do anything necessary to do so, even if that meant… killing me.” Otogi took a deep breath to steady his already cracking voice before continuing, “He had his hand around my throat and I couldn’t breathe, if it weren’t for Bakura’s help…”
“Gods…” Seto said, undoing his seatbelt and jumping over the car’s console so he could bring the distraught Otogi into his arms, “I suppose that’s how you got these, then?” he said, lightly brushing three dark blue bruises on the side of his lover’s neck, before noticing a larger bruise forming on his jaw, “What’s this one from?” he asked, kissing the mark lightly, causing Otogi to flinch—Seto promptly apologized.
“That would be from where he hit me.”
“Mark my words, I am going to kill him. How dare he treat you like that, you deserve so much more, I just hope I can be a better man than he.” Seto growled before letting his voice get softer, “I don’t know what I would do if I lost you.”
Otogi wrapped his arms around Seto and they held each other tightly for a moment. They got so little time together and frequently they couldn’t spend it the way they wanted, that was the whole point of leaving early. But in their rush to get home, the gears were set in motion to delay them, so in essence, they’re probably going to get home negligibly earlier than the others.
The emerald eyes of Otogi opened at last and told Seto they should probably get on the road, evidently much less distressed now that Seto knew what Yami had said.
“So you still haven’t told me how you ended up with the legendary Millennium Puzzle.” Seto said amusedly as they pulled back onto the road and sped off into the distance.
“Isn’t it obvious? Yugi couldn’t control the Puzzle and who better to keep it away from Yugi than someone who never actually needs to see him, aka me?” Otogi replied, popping the Kaiba Groove Music into the CD player and then replacing his hand back to where it was before the music change—right between his brunette lover’s thighs, resting over the growing erection imprisoned only by his koi’s pants.
“That makes sense.” Seto said, struggling to keep his eyes on the road and not letting them close as he rolled his hips against the hand nestled between his legs.
A devilish smirk graced Otogi’s normally placid features as he started to stroke Seto through his pants, smiling at the contented moan it finally got from the typically stoic CEO. He decided to push his luck and pulled his hand away to settle against the gear shifter, brushing it and letting his fingers trail up and down the smooth metal.
He chuckled a little as he caught Seto stealing the occasional glance in his hand’s direction, watching his eyes bug out every time he caressed the shifter’s length.
“Otogi, I would appreciat ift if you didn’t feel up my car.” Seto chided as he pulled up to a notoriously long red light.
“Your car isn’t the only thing I want to be feeing up.” Otogi replied seductively as he undid his seatbelt and moved over as far as he could before letting a hand dive to Seto’s pants. He made quick work of the belt and zipper and easily freed his partner’s now straining arousal. Otogi let his fingers draw slowly up its thick shaft before leaning over and taking that same shaft into his mouth.
He smirked as he heard the strained moan coming from his lover. He could feel Seto try to keep himself in control, but Otogi knew how much he enjoyed this and that he would have to work fast to get his koi off before the light turned green, this was too awkward a position to be in while they were supposed to be driving. So, Otogi took Seto farther down into his throat which tore a surprised gasp and moan from Seto. Ok, so maybe the dice enthusiast did learn something by rooming with Yami and Bakura, but he wasn’t going to admit that aloud to anyone, much less himself or Seto.
Meanwhile, Seto was losing it. Unconsciously, he starting trying to buck his hips into Otogi’s mouth and was a little surprised when his smaller boyfriend accommodated him easily so he continued relentlessly. However, out of the corner of his eye, he caught the adjacent street light change colour and urged Otogi to speed it up a little.
But as usual, Otogi was miles ahead of him, sneaking a hand between Seto’s legs to grab his innocent sac and give it a little squeeze as he bobbed his head up and down along his lover’s length. He smiled a little as Seto finally screamed and came, filling his mouth and throat with the bitter taste of his essence. Otogi lapped it up, almost as a faithful dog would, and then returned to his side of the car, leaving Seto’s pants open as his lover recovered from his orgasm and put himself back in order before speeding off into the distance.
“You’re going to pay for that when we get home.” Seto finally growled.
“I’d expect nothing less than the best punishment you can think of.”
