Chapter
25: Awaiting the Storm

This kind of waiting makes me sick! Knowing that
something is about to happen and it�s staling this long. We have been waiting
for three days�

But I need to focus on my work now, I still need to
fix those bugs� and maybe it what�s making the holograms look like a pixel game
instead of real monsters� even though the old Duel Disc prototype had good
holograms, but were are using a new software on the new models of Duel Discs� I
throw a glance at the watch at the corner of the computer screen� it was two in
the morning�

Mokuba and Ryou are really worried about the whole
Pegasus� thing, and Ryou had already warned his friends about the cops and the
whole deal about it�

I shock my head before I took drank some coffee, I
hate the taste but it keeps me awake when I do all-nighters and it is necessary
if we would be finish before dead line.

Hmm�?
I got up from the chair� I thought I heard a door open� Nah! Must be my
imagination� maybe that�s my queue to go home and get some sleep� I sat down on
my chair again and yawned but I got onto my feet again when I heard someone
outside my office door.

�Who is there?!
Show yourself?!� I asked and the door opened and to my surprise it was� Bakura�
why did my heart just skip a beat�?

�We need to talk� he said plainly.

�It�s about the Pegasus case right?� I asked and he
nodded �I won�t turn you in if you�re worried about that�

�It�s not it� Bakura shock his head as he walked over
and sat down on one of the chairs �How solid is your plan?�

I took out the folder that contained the documents on
the scheme the Big Five had with Pegasus and gave it to Bakura �The evidence is
solid anyway�

He looked through it and then he smirk �If this goes
to court, they will all fall with this evidence�

�And your secret will still be a secret, but we need
an alibi that will set us both away from Pegasus� room when the murder
occurred, which was about�?� I let the sentence be unfinished.

Bakura tilted his head a bit as he tried to remember
�About 03:30 a.m.�
he nodded to confirm his answer �I�m sure of it�

�Now we need to make some alibis for us and then later
tell Mokuba and Ryou� I said and tried in vain to stifle a yawn which made
Bakura snicker.

I snorted at him �We have to make these alibis now
Bakura and not laugh at me�

�Yeah, yeah, you�re right he said and with that we
started to make up our alibi.

I think we were done around five in the morning and I
also got rid of most of the last bugs as well.

Bakura sighed and stretched his arm while I drank the
last of my fifteenth cup of coffee.

�Now we�re all set when the cops come� Bakura stated
and I nodded.

�It will be no problem now� I threw the paper cup in
the trash bin and then looked Bakura in the eyes �Why did you wait until now to
show yourself Bakura?� I asked and he blinked.

�Oh, did you miss me?�

I snorted �There you are again� answering with a
question�� well� I actually missed him� and I don�t know why� What the?!! Stop
thinking!!!

�Well, maybe I wanted Ryou to feel like home, or maybe
I was scheming� he shrugged �Who knows� he smirk and I narrowed my eyes, I
wasn�t going to get a straight answer out of him.
