Dear Bakura,
I’m honestly not sure what to say about the memory overall. I would love to tell you that I just lost myself to the darkness and found myself tangled in it’s embrace. However, it would be a lie. As I told you before, I didn’t want to stop, but I can’t give you reasons on why all of those bodies were there. At least, I can’t give you a reason on why it seemed they needed to be… it was a terrible addiction. I understand if that worries you, but I… I had stopped. I did stop if it makes you feel better, it was just really hard. If you still want to help me, then spread the liquid on your neck and torso. If you don’t, then don’t and the ritual will end. ~Love Yuugi
A feeling of sadness filled Bakura’s being as he looked at the letter. He could see why Yuugi thought he’d give up on him then as finding out your lover was a serial killer would put a damper on anyone’s spirit. Bakura was determined to see this to the end, even if Yuugi still had those darker feelings of wanting to kill. He understood how dangerous it was and based on what he could remember, Yuugi seemed to thrive on dangers and taboos. Bakura took a deep breath and let the tension drain from his shoulders before applying the liquid and finding himself back in the familiar dreamland of his mind.
Everything had been going much better after their fight, or at least Bakura had thought it was going better, but in truth, Yuugi had just become better at hiding a lot of it. It wasn’t until Bakura decided to go out one day when Yuugi was supposedly working late that he found the other behind an alley dumpster with blood on his hands, another homeless man dead next to him, and Yuugi just enjoying the feeling of blood between his fingertips.
“Yuugi… what have you done?” Bakura asked having thought that things were getting better as Yuugi didn’t go out nearly as much and didn’t seem to be hiding as much as before.
“Bakura… I…” he looked up with a frown on his features and almost a hint of shame within his eyes.
“Please… for us… Yuugi… you have to stop. You know what they will do if they find out about this even if it isn’t as bad as before. I don’t want to lose you.” Bakura said bending down and trying to get through to his lover. He really didn’t want to lose him because of them.
“You won’t and if they make me leave you… I promise you I will destroy them all.” Yuugi said with a look in his eyes that Bakura did not doubt that Yuugi would do exactly as he said.
“I know Yuugi… I know.” he said with a sigh. They had made up the last time and he understood the call to darkness, but he needed this to stop. “I… I just can’t take this anymore.” he whispered to him. He hadn’t even realized that as he said that, a few tears began to slide slowly down his face.
A look of sadness had come over Yuugi’s face. The last thing he had ever wanted to do was make Bakura cry for anything other than shared joy in their mutual likes or during the few times he topped. He had to stop this. It wasn’t fair to either of them and especially not fair to Bakura. “I… I will stop. Honestly, you mean more to me than this does. I promise that for you I will stop, but it may be a bit hard at first.”
A small smile appeared on Bakura’s face. “I promise that I will help you every step of the way.” he said and leaned forward kissing Yuugi on the lips. He knew that Yuugi would stop for him and that was all that mattered.
Bakura winced at the onslaught of memories that began to appear within in his mind. The amount of questions that began to fill it didn’t help. He had found Yuugi. Yuugi promised that he would stop all of the killing and he promised never to leave his side from it. Bakura figured that someone could have found out and wanted to trap Yuugi, but he would’ve fought for Yuugi and his lover had been changing. They had to have made enemies, and he could already bring one to mind.
Yuugi,
I don’t understand. If you promised, then there was no reason for anyone to take you away. Why did they take you away from me? I know you can’t tell me what happened and when I remember, I hope I will see reason on it. I don’t plan on not helping you anymore, but I’m confused. I could feel your sincerity and the love you have for me in the memories I am getting back. I felt your sincerity in that promise and so, I can only figure you broke it, but I can’t stop thinking: why Yuugi? Why? ~Love Bakura.
