Sorry for the late chapter. Another chapter later today.

Dear Bakura,
I will be resting to conserve my energy for a few days, but I will still send you letters and talk to you face to face for a small amount of time per day. I hated that I couldn’t hold you, comfort you, and let you know everything would be ok. Soon. Soon, I promise I will show you how much I’ve missed you. Just two more days and we can be together once more. This time, I’ll make sure I can protect you. If you have any questions for me right now, I’ll answer when I come to visit you later this evening. ~Love Yuugi
Bakura read the letter and just had a faint smile on his lips before he went to shower. It was different this time because he had finally found what was missing. He would have questions later, but right now, he needed to talk to Ryo. There hadn’t even been any hesitation in Ryo’s voice when he said he’d come over under the guise of making sure he was alright, and it was then that Bakura became a bit nervous. He had so many questions floating in his mind that it seemed almost impossible to narrow it down to what question was most important to him at the moment.
Everything he had learned about Yuugi through his memories made him realize why he and Yuugi had connected, but at the same time, they seemed so different. He was going over his memories in his head and just as he heard Ryo come in the door, he realized what he wanted to know. He looked at the hikari with a smile on his face and burst into a fit of laughter when Ryo exclaimed ‘oh thank god’.
Ryo went over and hugged Bakura tightly. “I’m so happy you remember. I hated that whole situation. It was clear as day what had happened once we got you checked out at a hospital. Everyone was in shock, but many still agreed with him that Yuugi needed to be locked away. Others didn’t, but while they were arguing, I saw his mask fall a little. He wasn’t even surprised about the results, which meant that he knew. He knew and yet he still made you seal Yuugi up in there when you needed him the most.”
Bakura frowned feeling a surge of hatred throughout his body. He knew that Atem and him had a bad past, but he never expected that he would have done something so… heinous without a care in the world as to how he was tearing their lives apart. He took a deep breath as he remembered he wanted to ask a question of his hikari. “How was it? I know what I saw, but I want to know what happened the first time Yuugi ever killed someone? I’ll ask him later, but I feel like I should have another perspective that isn’t as biased as my own.”
The question shocked Ryo as he wasn’t expecting it. His features darkened and he pulled away from Bakura a moment looking away. A few different expressions flitted over Ryo’s face before he settled on just staring at the coffee table in front of him. “Malik and I got into trouble. We both had been taken by some guards or something and tied up in the basement. It was at their engagement party or well they had just gotten engaged there, I can’t remember what. Yuugi had been looking to escape the party and he found us before too much of anything could happen.”
“At first, I thought Yuugi was going to go and grab help. I mean, he was sweet little Yuugi and what could he do to stop Pegasus from us. I was… I had been pleading with him to take Malik’s place, but he just said he wanted both of us. I was scared that he’d grab Yuugi as well, but instead of anything else, Yuugi, he…” Ryo shook his head.
“He was the one who killed Pegasus obviously, but you weren’t there to watch the whole thing. It was awful. He took one of the pokers or something metallic. It was hot and it smelled awful, but there was something different about him. Everything. Yuugi’s eyes lit up like it was Christmas. Yuugi, he didn’t stop once he started, and he was completely thrilled about it. You would’ve thought he got a new lease on life, a fresh breath of air, or well anything that you can think that makes someone feel on top of the world. It was frightening and… admittedly sexy.” Ryo said with a light tinted blush at his last statement.
“So, you find Yuugi sexy, but not as sexy as your Marik.” Bakura said teasing him a bit before the weight of Ryo’s words finally hit him. “He was happy killing someone.”
“If I had to guess Bakura, I’d say he finally felt free.” Ryo said to him before touching his arm. “Atem... he tries to control everything to keep it as his view of what’s right, even if he’s not always right himself.”
The bitterness in Ryo’s tone gave Bakura pause. “What do you mean by that?” he said wondering if another part of his memories were true or if he was just seeing what he wanted to see.
“You aren’t his only ‘prisoner’. Malik is one too.” Ryo said with a slight frown on his features. “Whatever that mockery of a relationship is, it’s slowly destroying him. So, no matter what, I will help you Bakura. Not only because I don’t think Yuugi deserves to be trapped in there anymore, but for Malik’s sake as well.”
“I understand.”
“Good. I know who is on our side including your boss. So free Yuugi and let him kill that son of a bitch.” Ryo said staring straight into Bakura’s eyes.
Bakura nodded knowing exactly what he’d be talking about with Yuugi later.
