Aibou� really
is dying. Now. He won�t last an hour. I can feel it. The doctor� the doctor
actually saw fit to tell me so�

He sits there,
his hand wound tightly around Yuugi�s limp one, looking into his face. The
Light� the Light is fading. He knows now why Bakura was screaming� this is
torture. Feeling the Light going out and there�s nothing to be done about it�

Don�t leave me�

The room is
crowded, but Yuugi is all that matters� all that is important� Jounouchi sits
nearby, and Honda and Otogi and Anzu and Shizuka� Bakura is still in the
hospital � mercury poisoning. Ryou is dead. All of Aibou�s remaining friends
are here to see him go, but he can�t see them�

Only Yuugi�

Hikari�

Light�

Aibou�

Why? Why can
no one do anything? Shadow powers are useless� I cannot save you, Aibou�
Technology and medicine are useless� There is nothing that can stop my Aibou
from going on, leaving me here�

The Light
fades. Dimmer now. It will go out soon. Begging has done no good� Yuugi won�t
return. Pleading, tears, love� nothing is enough to save him�

useless� I cannot even save the one soul I care so much about� please, Yuugi,
don�t leave me here like this�

eyes rise to meet Jounouchi�s. Aibou is going� why do you distract me? Precious
seconds of my aibou�s failing life�

Bloody eyes
turn back to the frail body before him. �He is going� not gone, not yet, but

One of the girls
turns away, to cry silently on a boy�s shoulder. Yes, everyone cry� for the we
are losing our sun now� the Light that warms the world�

Dimmer still.
Going now.

No, Yuugi, don�t
go! I need you! Please, Yuugi! Aibou � I need you! Please, you can�t leave me
like this� I cannot exist without you!

Please�!

And then� the exact
moment when the light goes out�

Cold�.

So cold�

So empty�

So alone�

So�

�dark�

�no�

�yuugi�

you, Yami� Good-bye�~

Aibou� where
is Aibou� his Light in my mind�

when he� went. Or passed out or something � they couldn�t wake you up. They� they
said for a while it looked like you were going to die too�� Worry� worry in
those deep dark eyes� Don�t bother. Aibou is gone, so there is nothing left in
the world worth worrying over.

�I�m�� What?
Okay? No� not okay. Never okay. Not without Yuugi� �I�m alive��

�Yeah, man.
Yeah, you are.�
