After all
the excitement and fanfare, Yuugi felt his house was too quiet. He wanted to
run everywhere, and be as loud as he could, but the house was dead and silent.
Suppressing his excitement, Yuugi lead Atemu up the stairs to his room. Not
that he needed to; Atemu seemed to already know the way.
When Yuugi’s bedroom door closed with a soft click behind them, only then did they start talking again. Leaving
Atemu just inside the door, Yuugi walked to the middle of the room and turned
around, to face the man.
Atemu was at a loss. The room he was in, Yuugi’s room, was comfortably
familiar, but he’d never experienced it quite like this. Taking over Yuugi’s
body, or seeing the images through Yuugi’s mind, of course. But, never like
this, in the flesh. Stepping across the room, aware Yuugi was watching him, he
reached the desk. Reaching out, he sifted through the Duel Monsters cards lying
in a mess. Finally, his long fingers caught the Dark Magician card, but he
didn’t lift it.
Yuugi was sitting on the bed now. The sudden silence after his joyful outburst
had confused him, and when he did speak, his voice came out quiet, hesitant.
“I-… do you think you’ll be able to stay here? Forever? I mean…” Blushing, the
boy looked to the side. The thought had just occurred to him; Even if Yami’s back for good… would he even
want to stay with me?
Surprised, Atemu looked back at the boy on the bed. For a moment, he just
stared, and then he felt himself smile. He could see, with startling accuracy,
what Yuugi really wanted to know.
“Regardless of things, I think I will have to stay here for at least a while,
little one. My knowledge of this world is still rather limited.”
Yuugi felt his heart leap, and his smile returned. If his friends were here,
they’d note it as the first true smile he’d shown in months.
“I’ll teach you, Yami. Don’t worry, you’ll fit in real good really fast, I
promise. And, Yami, everyone’s gonna be so happy that you’re back, and-… and-…”
Slowly, he went quiet. Then, his face screwed up in a frown. From where he
watched at the desk, Yami felt himself note how adorable it looked, but was
careful not to let that particular thought slip across to Yuugi. “… Hey, Yami…
do you mind if I still call you Yami? I mean… Atemu is your name, but-…”
Atemu blinked. He honestly hadn’t thought about it. Closing his eyes for a
moment, he opened them with a calm smile, “I think, for you, ‘Yami’ would be
fine. Having you call me anything else would seem wrong.”
Yuugi’s grin was absolute. Standing up from where he was seated, he crossed the
room to Atemu. There was only a split second’s hesitation before he curled his
arms around Atemu’s waist, just hugging him. Turning his head, he let his head
rest against Atemu’s chest, listening to his heartbeat. As he listened, Yuugi’s
eyes closed.
… You’re back, Yami. You’re back with me
again. And I’m not letting you leave again, not this time.
Atemu blinked, just slightly, then gave a soft laugh. Reaching around, he
wrapped his arms around Yuugi’s body where it was pressed to him. The thoughts
he could hear made him smile. Looking down at the little body pressed against
him, he leant down. Nuzzling his face into the boy’s hair, he inhaled the smell
and gave a soft sigh. With the smell, images started to slowly thread across
the link. The first day after Atemu had left, all Yuugi had done was barricade
himself in his room and cry. The second day was little better. The third day,
he’d stopped crying, but things had gone oddly numb. It was only until two
weeks after, Yuugi had started going to school again. Atemu felt a slight tug
at his heart, and his arms tightened around his Aibou.
‘I’m back now. I promise, I’m back. So,
you don’t have to be sad anymore.’
The little bundle in his arms gave a soft sigh, and buried a bit closer to
him. Yuugi’s body was flush against Atemu’s own, now, and the feeling made the
other man shiver, oddly. The feeling of having his Aibou so close was…
pleasing. Then, a strange thing happened.
For a moment, Atemu was just enjoying the closeness; feeling the warmth of his
little light’s body. Then, without any prompting from him, Atemu’s mind came up
with an idea.
I bet it would feel even better, if his
clothes were gone.
Atemu’s eyes opened. For a moment, he just looked at Yuugi, panicked that
the boy would have heard. But Yuugi was quiet, still. Curious, he drew the boy
away from him, ever so slightly. Yuugi’s body was limp, and his eyes were shut.
He’d fallen asleep, standing up. A quick glance at the clock told Atemu it was
almost 4am, and just as well he was asleep.
One of his arms lowered, curling under Yuugi’s knees. The other wrapped around
his back, and Yami picked up the small body, bridal-style. Moving across the
room, he laid the boy out, gently, on his bed. There was no way to remove his
school jacket without waking him. Having set Yuugi down, he moved to sit on the
side of the bed.
Moonlight was falling across the young Motou’s face from the still-open window.
His school jacket was unbuttoned, and lay splayed to each side. The Puzzle had
fallen to the side on its chain, and was resting on the bed. Before he could
even realise it, Atemu’s eyes ran down the young boy’s body; drinking in every
detail. Bringing them up again, Atemu’s eyes settled on the boy’s chest. In the
depths of his mind, he saw himself reaching out and undoing the buttons of
Yuugi’s school shirt, revealing the pale flesh underneath. For a moment, the
idea held his attention, then he shook his head.
‘What the gods is wrong with me? Doing
something like that to Yuugi would be… would be…’
Shaking his head, Atemu moved down off the bed. Reaching up, he took off
the jacket he was wearing, rolled it up into a rough pillow, and laid down on
Yuugi’s bedroom floor. At first, he stared at the ceiling, then he glanced to
the side. Yuugi had rolled onto his side in sleep, and his mouth was hanging a
little open. For a second, Atemu just marvelled at the cuteness of it. But, as
he was examining the boy’s face, a wave of heat rushed his body.
Shivering a bit, Atemu turned to the window. There was a slight breeze coming
in, and he was thankful for it. His skin felt bizarrely hot. Closing his eyes,
Atemu attempted to empty his mind, but an image came before he could block the
thought out.
His own hands ran over Yuugi’s bare
chest. The boy was lying awake, and Atemu was straddling his waist. As his
fingers brushed the boy’s nipple, the Yuugi beneath him gave a soft whimper,
his eyes half-closing as he arched into the touch.
Breathing hard now, Atemu forced his eyes open. Looking around the room, he
swallowed a lump that had materialised in his throat. He couldn’t think where
these thoughts were coming from. Glancing to the side, his eyes fell on Yuugi,
and he paused.
The young
duellist’s face was flushed, and a bead of sweat was running down his temple.
As Atemu watched, the boy made a soft sound and rolled back onto his back.
Another short image came, like a clip from a movie.
Atemu was sat in the chair up to
Yuugi’s desk. The smaller boy was straddling his lap. Yuugi was completely nude, and Atemu was down to only his pants. The Pharaoh’s
hands reached up; grabbing Yuugi’s wrists and pinning them back. Standing,
Atemu used his own hips to push Yuugi back on the desk. The bag was gone, but
the Duel Monsters cards were still there; messy and crushed under Yuugi’s nude
body. Using one hand to pin the boy’s hands above his head, Atemu moved down
the younger body’s body with kisses. One on a nipple, another
on his bellybutton.
Finally, the Pharaoh’s head reached Yuugi’s groin. Leaning close, his tongue
ran along the boy’s half-erect cock. Yuugi let out a surprised moan above him,
and Atemu smirked. Encouraged, he leant up to take the boy in his mouth,
starting to suck him, while Yuugi writhed in pleasure.
The image faded away.
Back in
reality, Atemu tore his eyes away. The thoughts were being projected from
Yuugi, and god only knows what the boy was dreaming about. Reaching down, Atemu
bit his lip to hold back a whimper, as his fingers ghosted over the front of
his own pants. He himself was half-aroused now, and it disturbed him. He
half-stumbled as he got to his knees, then fell forward onto his hands as
another image floated through his mind.
The two boys were on Yuugi’s bedroom
floor. Both were naked, and the room smelled deliciously of sex and sweat.
Yuugi was on all fours, and as Atemu came up behind him, he made a soft,
desperate noise. Sliding down, so his cheek was resting on the ground, he left
his butt in the air. When he spoke, his voice was thick with need, and more
than a little breathless.
“Y-yami… I want… I need you to…”
“What do you need from me, little one?” Atemu’s voice was smooth, as usual,
with only a hint of lust clouding it. He was knelt behind Yuugi, slowly rubbing
his own erection.
“I want-… want…” Yuugi’s voice faded, and he blushed, closing his eyes, “… You
know what I want…”
“Say it.” Atemu’s voice came out, commanding. Bringing himself up, his spare
hand grabbed Yuugi’s hip, and he pulled the boy towards him. Leaning down, his
lips brushed along Yuugi’s ass-cheek, licking his skin. The body under his
tongue shuddered.
“I want… I want you to fuck m-…”
Atemu gave a low
growl, shutting his eyes tight. Fighting back for his own mind, he flexed his
will, using it to hold the mind-link shut. Holding it shut forcibly was mentally
exhausting, but, right now, leaving it open was more so. Still on all-fours,
one hand moved down to his pants. Tugging them one way, he tried desperately to
fit what was now a full erection, and get some kind of comfort. Quietly, he
cursed leather for being so constricting. Finally, he forced himself to turn
away from Yuugi; rolling onto his side on the floor so he couldn’t see him.
Stealthily, one hand moved down to undo his pants, letting his erection free.
Breathing a quiet sigh of release, Atemu glanced down at his own groin.
It had been a long time since he’d had to experience this sort of thing so
physically. The times he’d been in Yuugi’s body didn’t let him experience much
in the way of lust. He’d been aroused,
mentally, while in the Puzzle, plenty of times, but it didn’t come with this
kind of frustration.
For a
moment, he considered it, then made a soft annoyance
noise. No, he wouldn’t do it. Wouldn’t lie here and do himself by hand, getting off on Yuugi’s wet dreams. The boy was young, and he
couldn’t control what he was dreaming about. It would be unfair to abuse them.
Instead, he
pulled the jacket out from under his head. Unrolling it from the bundle he’d
made, he spread it over his lower body – checking quickly that he wasn’t making
a tent – and closed his eyes. When he got to sleep (If he could get to sleep),
he was sure it would be gone by the morning.
---
Yuugi was
still lying in bed, motionless, and it was 8:30am. He didn’t know what time it was,
of course. All he knew was that sleep was good. Sleep was heavenly. Since he’d
regained consciousness, the little hikari had made
one attempt to open his eyes. It was met by too much light, and a feeling like
his eyelids were made out of weights. He’d just closed his eyes and rolled
over, away from the offending brightness, falling into another light sleep.
‘Aibou…’
Yuugi grunted, quietly. A dark chuckle rang through his mind.
‘Aibou, if you don’t wake up now, you’re
going to be late for school.’
Another mumbled grunt, and he rolled over again.
Freeing the Puzzle from where it was trapped under his body, he raised the
thing over his head. The chain was awkward to get around his head, but he got
it off; setting the Puzzle on the bed next to himself. He kept on hand draped
over it, however.
Hell with you, Yami… I’ll sleep if I
want.
‘I can still hear you, little one. And you are going to get up.’
Yuugi’s eyes jerked open. In a rush, he remembered the events of the night
before, and it was enough to make him sit bolt upright in bed. Of course. Atemu wasn’t in the Puzzle now, he was… he was…
Yuugi turned, looking around the room. It was empty, except for himself. The Duel Monsters cards on the desk had been
rearranged into neat-ish stacks of two decks. The Dark Magician card sat on top
of the left hand deck. Other than that, the room was unchanged from how he’d
left it. Yuugi felt himself frown.
Yami, where are you?
‘In the kitchen, Aibou. I’ll assume you still like
omelette for breakfast?’
Yuugi’s
heart did a strange kind of jump.
Yami’s in the kitchen. Yami’s cooking me breakfast. This i-…
‘Might I remind you, little one, I can still hear your thoughts quite clearly. Even when you are not wearing our Puzzle.’
Yuugi’s face flushed pink. Glancing nervously at the Puzzle, he paused, then lifted it around his neck again. Letting the gold
pyramid rest against his stomach, he shuffled back off the bed.
Right… sorry… I used to be able to get you out of my mind
by not wearing the Puzzle…
As he stepped out of his bedroom, Yuugi felt a slight soft disappointment
from the other side of the link, along with a vague thoughtfulness. ‘And now, you have lost the method to exile
me from your mind. Is this a problem, little one?’
Yuugi was walking down the stairs; fondling the Puzzle with one hand. I don’t think so, Yami. I’m just not used to
talking to you like this, and knowing I’m actually talking to some kind of…
physical body.
Again, there was that quiet tinge of thoughtfulness, as Yuugi turned into
the kitchen. Atemu was standing by the table, cutting a small omelette into two
pieces. How someone that used to be a Pharaoh had learned to cook, Yuugi didn’t
know, but it certainly smelled edible.
As he walked
into the room, Atemu glanced at him with a calm half-smile, and nodded.
“It confuses me that we can still communicate without words. It used to be an
option because we shared minds, but now, it seems we are of our own minds.”
Yuugi gave a little half-shrug, pulling out a chair at the table. Falling into
it, he tugged a plate of omelette towards him. He felt like, there should have
been some kind of awkwardness, or shyness, but there was none. Atemu felt as
familiar to him as he had when he was within the Puzzle. Only,
a lot more real.
“We could never be awkward, little one. We are like two sides of a coin.”
Yuugi looked up from his plate with a red face, suddenly choking on his food.
Gulping it down, his voice came out angry, and more than a little embarrassed.
“Could you-… stop reading my mind, for at least a minute?!”
Atemu looked apologetic; seating himself and grabbing some omelette.
“My apologies, Aibou. The thoughts just float so near
to my mind, it is hard not to look at them.”
“Well, try harder!” Still blushing, Yuugi gripped his fork a bit harder, and
started practically shovelling the food down his throat. The idea of having Atemu
in his head permanently, when Atemu was so real and there, was horrifying. It would be like if Jou could read his mind
all the time. Yuugi felt the colour drain from his face. What would Jou say, if
he could see what went on in Yuugi’s mind? All the quiet,
half-formed, or unwanted thoughts that a mid-teen boy’s mind harbours.
Then, slowly, a quiet realisation came. It wasn’t Jou. It was Atemu. Yami. Pausing in his breakfast, Yuugi looked up at the
Pharaoh. Atemu was quietly eating his meal, with his scarlet eyes fixed on
Yuugi. The small duellist felt a quiet thrill to his toes. Atemu would never
judge him, or laugh at him. It was like he said, they
were two sides of a coin. Yami to hikari.
Laughing at one another would be ridiculous.
‘I will give you my word, Aibou, that I would never judge you on anything you thought.’
Yuugi felt himself blink, staring back at those piercing eyes without
looking away.
Then… I suppose it’s
okay. That you see. I trust you, Yami.
‘Thank you, then.’ There was a pause, ‘And
now, a more pressing matter…’
Yuugi looked a question at him. Atemu replied with a calm smirk.
‘How is Jounouchi going to react to my
presence? And, furthermore, how is Ryou going to
react?’
For a
moment, he just stared, blankly. Then, the importance of what Atemu had said
began to slowly sink in. When Jou found out that Atemu was alive,
and very much in the flesh, he would…
Slowly, Yuugi’s face went pale. Ryou…
‘You are going to see both of them at school today, yes?’
Uh-huh…
‘Then perhaps, just this once, it would be a good idea for me to come to school
with you.’
Yuugi looked up at Atemu, once again, and a quiet warmth settled somewhere
below his heart. Atemu at school with him, like old-times.
That comforting voice in the back of his mind, in class, when
you aren’t allowed to speak freely or not be lonely.
Despite
himself, and despite the problems he could foresee with Ryou,
Yuugi smiled.
