A/N: Hey y'all! Welcome back for the next chappie of Amber Scars. Hmm, this is definitely an interesting time because what I have realized is I have to consider which scenes to leave out and which ones to keep in. Aside from that I also have to change the tense and such for sentences to make sense. Hehes
I hope y'all enjoy this so far. It's definitely also an exciting time for me considering it's about damn time I did this. So, let's get on with chappie three.

Chapter 3: Locust
When Yugi finished taking his fill. He had gagged slightly. He guessed that he would have to get used to the taste. Glancing over his shoulder, he had to be wary in case Bakura might be nearby. There seemed to be no telling when that sneaky devil would appear. Smelling something permeating the air made his nostrils flare in disgust. For some odd reason he had the strange urge to investigate. Unsure if he should give in to it or not, he did have the option to deny what he is feeling. Deciding against his better judgment to go check it out he noticed the silverette is waiting for him. Apparently he's holding something in his hands. He couldn't make it out at first, but when he stepped closer he shuddered in repulsion at what he saw. There are a pair of freshly harvested hearts. They are still dripping blood. The scarlet rivulets running down the pale arms made his throat burn with need. Staying put where he is currently positioned he didn't want to make a wrong move. He also didn't want to earn his wraith. That's only one of the last things he desired. What he ended up with is staying within the silence hanging over him thickly at the horrific scene in front of his very eyes. That's all he could do while he tried to shake himself. He needed to retain his resolve. The last thing he wanted is to seem weak, and break this soon in the sick game he seemed to be playing by being here.
"W-What are you doing?" He finally asked, knowing his voice sounded shaky even when he tried to keep the trembling out of it.
"Having a snack," answered Bakura simply as if this is normal which it is considering how their race works when it comes to sustenance. "You'll learn to enjoy them as well, shrimp."
Yugi held back the instinct to gag before he hesitantly replied, "H-How could I eat something like that?"
"It's either that or letting someone take advantage of you. Trust me I've had quite a few members of the coven ask if you're available. Of course I'm not allowing them yet, but of course it can happen when I'm not around," said Bakura casually with a warning underneath his nonchalant demeanor.
"Y-Yes, I understand," said Yugi as he tried to hide that he's shaking slightly out of fear and anger that he's forced to live this new life he had been thrown into without being asked if he wanted any of this.
"That's good to hear. Now, eat this. It will help with gaining more strength. You're still a fledgling. I can't have others thinking you're weaker than you look," he said gruffly before holding what's in one of his hands to the other man's lips. "I'd better not have to force them open.... Otherwise I might leave a couple bruises."
At first Yugi felt reluctant. Obviously he didn't want the silverette to force his mouth open, but he didn't want anything bad to happen to him. Though considering what has occurred to him so far before this, he supposed it could be worse. He felt Bakura's slender fingers urging his lips to part. Placing the bloodied heart inside he then closed Yugi's mouth with his crimson stained fingers. His own lips are marred with the stuff. It's understandable for him to feel mortified beyond belief, but Bakura merely smirked with an uncaring atmosphere surrounding him. He shuddered to think how he had received Bakura's attention in the first place. He had never been friends with the man, but he knew his yami is for whatever possible reason. Struggling to figure out the reasoning behind the older leech's madness is a fool's errand. It's too bad no one could understand him because he never wanted comfort or any of those foolish things others needed to go on in life with. He preferred his immortality. If he found an innocent and pure soul to taint that attracted him then he would push aside any consequences to have that person as his own. That's one of the reasons behind why Yugi is here now. Or at least one of the answers to a conundrum filled with nonsense.
"See, aren't they amazing?" asked Bakura with a spark of glee in his eyes. "You'll learn to love the delicacies of our kind."
"I-I'm not going to like them now or any other time," he muttered under his breath in hopes he wouldn't hear him while he swallowed what had been in his mouth.
"We'll see," said Bakura slyly before pulling none too gently on Yugi's arm to usher him through a corridor into the chamber the coven had meetings when a new one emerged into their family.
"Well, well, seems like we have a new one joining us," the man known as Aknadin who's known as one of the ancient lords within their race. "Where did you find this pipsqueakAnother pet of yours? Or will you let others have some time with him?"
"Shut up you decrepit piece of ash," snarled Bakura as he had a protective stance as he had stepped in front of Yugi Who are you calling a piece of ash, youngling?" Aknadin growled with a warning as he felt tempted to either give him a good lashing with his hand across the other male's face or something else. "You should know by now I'm not afraid of punishing you fools if you step out of your place."
"My place?" Scoffed Bakura with a tinge of amusement. "Don't make me laugh. I'm not a youngling. I'm almost as old as you are."
"That may be true, but you should be careful," he warned with a glare of those intimidating eyes of his.
"You're not the first person who's told me that," he muttered to himself as he dragged Yugi off to sit beside him while he took his place at the table.
"Now that we are all here, the ceremony can commence," the man from before known as Aknadin spoke.
"Yes, I turned him the other day. He has been fed a little while earlier. So he has become accustomed to our way of sustenance," explained Bakura to him.
"Good, I assume you laid a false trail for that mutt mate of his correct?" Aknadin demanded to know from him.
"Yeah, yeah, it's not hard since it's only Yami," he answered with a shrug. "It will be a long time before he and my foolish light half figure out what's really going on."
"Good," he said with a pleased expression on his face. "Then we can proceed as planned."
Somehow Yugi could do nothing except sit there. What he's not allowed to do is speak unless he's told to. He only knew that because of the look Bakura had given him. Deciding on being a good boy, and stayed quiet he didn't want to anger any of the others. He really didn't want to see what another vampire could be like when they are completely pissed off. That's why he merely averted his gaze from anyone while he listened to the conversation. Another thing he didn't know is what all of this meant. It's probably nothing good for him or anyone else. He thought over the words that had already been said. It made him wonder what the plan exactly entailed. He hoped it had nothing to do with him. Supposedly, he would have to wait and see. Feeling Bakura hold one of his hands in a vice like grip made him withhold the whimper he wanted to release. He's starting to feel pain, but it suddenly became a calming numbness.
"We have a new member joining us," he began. "You all remember the ritual that occurred a day after your change. This young man will endure the same. When it is over he shall finally be a part of our coven."
"Yugi, extend your right hand," Malik demanded of the short newborn who complied without hesitation.
"This mark which will be carved into your hand shows you belong to us," Aknadin intoned as he brought out a knife crafted out of bone before starting to skillfully make the markings until it's completed. "It will soon become a mere scar, but all of those within these catacombs know you are a part of this coven. No other can comfort you to theirs."
Yugi nodded in understanding. He had watched as the ancient man had made the markings. The knife had then been stowed away once it's finished. He noticed the mark is of a locust with a slash through its abdomen. It made him shiver at the symbol. Knowing that he would have to live with it for the rest of his eternal life made him wonder if that's all it takes. Though from his mindset it seemed all that is necessary for him. That's all they had done to him. The ceremony had ended once that had finished being completed. Now they are merely talking amongst themselves. Noticing that Bakura had let go of his hand for now he's looking at him intently with a proud look in those slightly malicious eyes of his. He still isn't used to how he looked to him although he felt sure everyone else is used to it. The fledgling doubted he would never think of Bakura's appearance as something normal.
"You did well," he murmured softly in his ear. "You can return to the chamber while I speak with the others."
Nodding as he left the room he wandered the corridor for a few moments before finding the right door. He made sure no one had followed him. Releasing a sigh of relief when he found that no one would bother him made him uncertain if he'd handle being around any of the others at the moment. He wanted to be alone. Glad about the fact that he's granted that privilege. He still felt unsure of how long it would last, but he would appreciate it anyways. He moved to the place in the wall because he had been starting to get a burning sensation in his throat. Beginning to drink the scarlet liquid which ended the turmoil he licked his lips after he finished. He supposed he seemed to be getting accustomed to the aspect of drinking blood. He guessed he felt kind of glad about that. Knowing that his partner had plans of making him his mate gave him more courage to cling onto the hope that he would come for him. Hopefully none of those plans had changed. He knew that he would find him. No, he didn't care if it isn't right now, but he knew in his hearts of hearts that Yami would come for him.
Going to finish up, he hoped that nothing bad would happen to him here. Safe behind the walls of Bakura's room gave him an odd sense of comfort. Sighing, Yugi sat down on the edge of the bed. Looking down he noticed that he has a collar around his throat along with wristband cuffs on his wrists. His clothing had changed as well. Instead of what he usually wore the petite male had on a tunic and tights. The bottom portion is black while the top is a dark shade of purple. It's formfitting to hang a little off his form so it's not too tight or loose on him. Seeing his reflection somehow in a shard of glass he didn't see himself in it. No, what stared back at him is a changed person. It made him speculate whether or not Yami would accept him for what he is now compared to what he used to be before all of this transpired.
"He will eventually come here for you," said Bakura, standing at the threshold in the door, having been watching his pupil nonchalantly.
"I know," sighed Yugi, unsure if Yami would even love him now considering they're on opposite sides of sun and moon.
"What if he doesn't love you now? Wolves and our kind are enemies," said the silver haired male, approaching the smaller male until they are nearly face to face with one another. "There's little to no way a bridge can be formed between us."
"We'll see."
A/N: Yays! Done with chappie three! So, the re-write part finished up a bit quicker than expected. There are some scenes I'm getting rid of because I feel they're unnecessary which I spoke about last time. When these said scenes are left out I will add more to the current one.
So, I think that's a good way to go about things. We'll see how the rest of this goes. Right now, I can say this is really fun. I'm excited to see what other changes and improvements I can make to this in order to make it a better story.
The next chappie will be out shortly whenever I have it re-written up. It just depends on whenever it's done so that might be later on in the week or this weekend. We'll see what happens. Until next time please remember to review darlings!
