Summary: Sequel to Hunger. Though he’s always there to sate Jou’s
hunger, Seto finds himself facing a thirst of his own.
Jou had gone home first after school, using the time to change out of his
uniform. He chose his most comfortable pair of jeans and, thinking about
Kaiba’s slacks yesterday, his best black tee shirt. Not that he cared how
he looked, really, or what Kaiba thought about it. But there was no reason
to look shabby if he was going to be so close to the other that he could be
compared.
He took his time walking over, not particularly worried about being on time;
Kaiba never was. He ran his tongue over his teeth, tasting mint, and tried to
rehearse what he was going to say in his head. He didn’t want to lead
Kaiba on; he had to make it clear that he wasn’t interested.
No matter how slow he walked, he still didn’t know what to say when he
arrived. Not that that was particularly surprising; he usually had to play
things by ear. Planning never was something that he was good at.
To his surprise, the door was open when he reached it. Not just
unlocked; hanging open. He walked inside slowly, still feeling like he was
intruding. Both of the doors between the foyer and the game room stood
open, and he could see the back of Kaiba’s head over the top of the
couch.
Unsure what to say to alert the other to his presence, he tried to make his
footsteps as loud as possible without stomping. Kaiba didn’t look over,
and he awkwardly entered the room, feeling again like he was
intruding. Coming around the side of the couch, he froze. Kaiba’s
eyes were closed.
For a moment Jou honestly thought he might be dead. Then he saw the
slow rise and fall of the other’s chest. Still, dead seemed more plausible
than what he was seeing. Kaiba was sleeping.
Well, Jou supposed, he had to sleep sometimes, though it was easy to assume
that he was above the human weakness of sleep. Even if he did need to sleep like everybody else, that
he would do it where people could see was shocking.
Slowly Jou continued forward, sitting down carefully beside the
other. Kaiba didn’t stir. His slacks were a dark navy today, his
button-down a pale blue. His tie still hung loosely around his neck, but
the buttons of his collar had been undone. Jou saw that his navy jacket
had been tossed carelessly on the floor.
Jou stared at him, watching his body tense and relax with every breath, and
struggling with how normal Kaiba looked. The image he had of Kaiba- that
of a perfect, hardly human, powerful, business man- was now broken.
He shifted slightly, relaxing back onto the arm of he
couch, facing Kaiba. His movement made the other stir,
lift his head, and look over at the disturbance.
“Hey,” Seto said softly, realizing who he was looking at.
“Um, hi,” Jou answered, unable to stop the blush that followed.
Seto breathed in deeply, bringing his mind more fully awake. “Sorry,”
he said, sitting up slowly and turning to face Jounouchi. “I really am a
horrible host.”
“You don’t have to be a host for me,” Jou rushed to say. He really
didn’t deserve it from him. Not with what he was going to do.
“Well, regardless.” Seto stood up, raising his arms above his head in a
stretch. “Can I get you anything?”
“I’m fine,” Jou answered, fisting his hands in his lap and trying not to
watch Kaiba’s body stretch.
“Thank God,” Seto answered, falling back onto the couch with a loud
creak. He saw Jounouchi jump at his action. “I would rather not move
from this spot for another good hour.”
“What’s wrong?” Jou asked, not used to hearing Kaiba admit something so
personal.
“Just tired,” Seto said, forcing himself to
smile. Tired didn’t even begin to describe how he felt. He was
exhausted. He wouldn’t normally have allowed himself to fall asleep when
the doors to his house were standing open for anybody to stroll in. But he
couldn’t let exhaustion ruin the progress he had made with Jounouchi.
“You seemed fine in class,” Jou said.
“Caffeine induced, I assure you.” He caught the look that crossed
Jounouchi’s face. “Are you worried about me?” he asked, smirking slightly.
Jou felt his face heat up again, realizing that Kaiba had hit it dead on the
nail. He searched his brain frantically for something to say in response
to that and came up blank.
“You don’t need to be,” Kaiba went on. “It’s nothing that a full
night’s sleep won’t cure.”
Jou managed not to flinch, but only barely. For a moment Kaiba had been
acting like his normal self; teasing Jou for having a heart. Then, only a second
later, he had turned the conversation into one that might have passed between
Honda and himself. It was unnerving, and he knew that Kaiba was doing it
on purpose.
“Do you want me to leave? So you can sleep?” He hadn’t said what he
wanted to yet, but he’d take any excuse he could in order to get away. He
knew he was a coward, and he was okay with that.
“No,” Seto answered, a heartbeat too quickly. “Please don’t,” he added,
seemingly searching for something else to say.
“I,” he paused, “enjoy your company.”
Jou froze, sucking his bottom lip into his mouth to chew on it. Now was
the time; he had to tell Kaiba that he wasn’t interested. That it would be
too weird. Surprisingly, for once, the words came. I wouldn’t mind
becoming your friend, Kaiba, as long as we stay just friends. Even
though they were there, he didn’t want to say them. Shaking himself, he
opened his mouth. He wasn’t going to get another chance like this.
“I,” he stopped, chewing on his lip again. This is weird! his mind screamed. But nice.
Kaiba was studying him thoughtfully. He had to say something.
Kaiba leaned toward him on the small couch, his hand extending toward Jou’s
face. The pad of his thumb came to rest at the corner of the blonde’s
mouth, the other fingers cupping his chin. The brunette slid his thumb
across Jou’s lip, effectively pulling it away from the harsh treatment of his
teeth.
Seto forced his voice to drop to a soft whisper. “You shouldn’t do
that.”
Words completely abandoned Jou. In fact, thought seemed to have left
him too. Instinct caused him to blush, to close his eyes against what he
didn’t understand, and to lean his face into Kaiba’s hand.
Seto traced Jounouchi’s wet lip with his thumb again, caressing it softly,
while watching for the slightest warning to back off. Jounouchi gave
none. He moved in slowly; rushing had no place in seduction.
When their lips met, both froze. Seto; waiting for a negative reaction
from Jounouchi. Jou; shocked that he’d allowed Kaiba to
kiss him.
One sip wasn’t enough. Kaiba had waited as long as he possibly could;
had given Jounouchi that chance. Now he needed to drink. Shifting, he
pushed their lips together more firmly, and began to kiss Jounouchi in earnest.
Jou’s mind objected for another few seconds, and then admitted defeat as
hormones surged through his body. It felt like his stomach had flipped, or
dropped to the floor, or that his heart had exploded. He reached up to
grab Kaiba’s shoulders, pulling the brunet with him as he laid back. If
his heart hadn’t exploded, it certainly was trying to, the way it pounded at
his chest.
‘I’m being kissed by Seto Kaiba.’ The horribly convoluted mass
of different emotions that followed this thought only served to make Jou’s
heart pound harder, and to cause another wave of adrenaline to shoot through
him.
And he was being kissed. Kaiba was good at what he
did. When he pulled away from Jou, which felt hours yet only seconds
later, the blonde’s head spun drastically. He was certain that the only thing
that kept him from falling off the couch entirely was Kaiba’s weight on top of
him.
He blinked hard to focus, making out Kaiba just in time to see the brunette
wipe the back of his hand against his mouth. He looked – predatory.
Jou shuddered, hard.
Seto felt drunk. After waiting a few more seconds to take some deep
breaths, he took Jounouchi’s face between his hands, afraid that- if he didn’t
hold the other still- he would miss. With Jounouchi trapped, he drank in
deeply. Jounouchi was intoxicating, and had the same strange, contradictory
effect as alcohol; simultaneously relaxing and exciting.
Jou’s hands fisted into Kaiba’s collar. He
wanted – he wasn’t sure what he wanted, but he was sure that there was something he wanted to be doing.
The phrase “Just Friends” floated through his mind and was immediately
thrown away. This was way too good to stay just friends. Feeling like
he needed to convey this to Kaiba somehow, he tried to speak. His words
were degraded into an extremely needy moan, but he was already too hot to flush
with embarrassment.
Hearing Jounouchi vocalize his pleasure made Seto squirm. Movement,
however, only made his attention shift to his arousal. He moved slightly
to push his groin against Jounouchi’s thigh and to feel Jounouchi’s hardness
against his hip in return. This caused the blonde to moan again, which in turn
caused Seto to shift yet again.
Eventually Jou’s hands wrapped completely around Kaiba’s neck, forming a
death lock that warned the brunette not to try to breathe. Jou was quite
certain he would rather suffocate than stop. His sexual experience was not
exactly limited, but this – this was something completely different than
sex. This was invigorating, exhilarating, and a hundred other things that
he couldn’t put to words.
Seto’s hands shifted from holding Jounouchi’s face still to thread up into
his hair. The locks were cool and soft between his fingers, contrasting
the hard heat beneath him. He could feel Jounouchi’s panted breath against
his cheek. It was all too much. He pulled his face away, just enough
to stop the kiss. He couldn’t bring himself to move any
further. Jounouchi’s eyes were still closed, almost forcefully so. Their
lips still brushed when he spoke.
“Jounouchi.” Seto was surprised at the husky
quality of his own voice.
“Hmm?” Jou asked, not trusting himself to form
words. He felt Kaiba’s eyes on him, and refused to look.
Letting go of the other’s hair with one hand, Seto reach
up behind his neck. He needed to communicate something, and he
didn’t really know how to do it with words. Carefully, he pulled one of
Jounouchi’s hands off of his neck. Bringing the limb down beside them, he
intertwined their fingers.
Jou’s eyes flew open involuntarily, and widened when he was caught staring
straight back at Kaiba. Kaiba’s eyes, even when cold, were always intense. Now
they were not only intense, but still predatory. Intimidated, Jou closed
his eyes again and, taking a deep, shuddering breath, answered Kaiba’s unasked
question with a nearly imperceptible nod.
Triumphant, Seto leaned down to drink in Jounouchi – his Jounouchi –
again. He’d succeeded; Jounouchi was his now. He could stop acting
like an idiot to force the other’s defenses to drop.
Hearing the front door bang broke them apart. “Seto!
The door was unlocked again!”
Jou tried not to be insulted that Kaiba practically sprinted out of the
room. He was obviously attempting to allow Jou a minute to pull himself
together. Standing, the blonde straightened his clothes and attempted to
straighten his hair.
Walking out of the room, he found Kaiba and Mokuba talking quietly. “Hi Jou!”
Jou smiled awkwardly, attempting to watch Kaiba out of the corner of his
eye. “I gotta get home,” he said as casually as
he could, walking around Mokuba to reach the door.
“Jounouchi,” Seto called. He gave Mokuba a pat on the shoulder, and his
sibling took off out of the room. Jounouchi stopped in the doorway, but
didn’t turn around.
Seto came up beside him, and took Jounouchi’s hand in his again. This
caused the other to look at him. “Can you come back tomorrow?”
Swallowing, Jou shook his head. “Can’t. Wednesday.”
Seto blinked. He wondered if Jounouchi realized he’d just referenced
their summer trysts in the movie theater. Every
afternoon during lunch except Wednesdays. “Thursday
then?”
Jou, feeling awkward and trapped, looked to both sides for some way of
escape. Finding none, he nodded reluctantly. “Good,” Kaiba said, and
the change in his voice made Jou’s heart beat speed up.
Wanting to insure that Jounouchi really did return,
Seto used their locked hands to tug him forward and kiss him one more time,
just enough to leave him wanting. “See you in school, Jounouchi,”
he whispered into the other’s ear.
Jou shuddered hard when the door closed behind him. He’d come with
every intent to break it off, and somehow Kaiba had convinced him not only to
give in, but to return as well.
