Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
Seto opened his eyes and winced at the bright light coming through the window.
With a groan, he rubbed his eyes and closed them against the morning light.
Slowly, he raised his head and leaned back in his leather chair.
“Ow,” he groaned as the light irritated his eyes.
“Morning, dad,” a voice said quietly in front of him.
Seto opened his eyes and saw Jaimen and Mokuba sitting in front of him. The
CEO groaned again.
“Big Brother, what’s going on?”
“Nothing’s going on, Mokuba. Nothing except a damn headache, that is.” Seto
reached into his top desk drawer and grabbed a bottle of headache medicine.
“Dad, what are you doing with this?” Jaimen asked holding up an empty bottle of
Vodka.
The CEO rubbed his eyes. “I’m sorry, Jaimen.”
Mokuba took a deep breath. “Big Brother, I can’t do this anymore.”
“Do what?”
“Do you remember what it was like when Joey first moved in? When he was going
through withdrawl? Do you remember what it was like growing up with that?!”
Mokuba asked, raising his voice.
Seto winced at the tone in his brother’s voice. “Mokuba, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean
to---.”
“I remember Joey screaming….and him crying. Remember when he stabbed you?
He tried to kill you, Seto! He attacked me!”
The CEO rubbed his shoulder. “It wasn’t Joey’s fault. He was confused.”
“He really tried to hurt you!”
“Mokuba, I know he did! But because I had one drink does not mean I’m going to
become as dependant as Joey!”
Mokuba stood up and put the bottle on Seto’s desk. “It only took one sip for Joey
to get right back to where he used to be. Joey’s stumbled lots of times since he
moved in here. He came in, took a sip of something, and continued to slip.”
Seto stood up. “Joey’s come a long way, Mokuba! He’s tried! He’s been sober for
two years now!”
“Two years! How long has he been living here?! Eighteen?! Twenty?! I lost track!”
“I love Joey! I’ve tried to help him! He’s come a long way! Without us, he’d be
dead! He would have died on the streets. Would you have wanted that?”
Mokuba straightened up. “No.”
“Joey tried. That’s what counts. He tried to get better. And now…..now for all I
know, my husband is dying in a hospital bed and there’s not a god damned thing I
can do about it!!!!!!!”
Jaimen swallowed hard. He never saw his father so angry. “Dad, I heard from
Mokuba what it used to be like when Joey was drinking. I don’t want to go through
that.”
“I’m not going to be as bad as Joey was, Mokuba! This is my first drink in months!
I kept this in my desk under lock and key so he wouldn’t find it. I can control
myself, Mokuba!”
“Well, what about last night? Jaimen found you unconscious at your desk with that
shot glass in your hand!”
The CEO crossed his arms. “I’ve had a long couple of weeks.”
“So have I but you don’t see me with booze in my hand!”
Seto narrowed his eyes. “If I wanted to be preached at, I would have called a priest,
Little Brother.”
“How dare you!” Mokuba growled.
“I’m not using what happened as an excuse, Little Brother. I was tired! Exhausted!
I took one sip!”
“The bottle is empty!”
Seto growled. “That’s because I had only a sip left! That bottle lasted me an entire
year!” Seto sat in his chair. “If you don’t believe me, Little Brother, I’m sorry.”
The CEO buried his face in his hands and began to rub his temples. “I’m
just……worried about Joey. Can you blame me, Mokuba?”
Mokuba and Jaimen saw tears in Seto’s eyes.
“My husband is dying…..and I don’t know if he will live.”

Aten opened his eyes as loud screams came from downstairs. He whimpered and
clutched onto Robbie, sleeping quietly beside him.
“YOUR SON IS DAMNED TO WALK THE FIREY PITS OF HELL,
MIRANDA!” the old woman screamed.
“Don’t talk about Robbie that way, mom! My son’s decisions on how he wants to
live is his choice! I’m not going to stop them!”
“MIRANDA, I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THIS!”
Aten whimpered and pressed his body against Robbie’s back. “Robbie…..wake
up.”
“YOU SHOULD HAVE FLUSHED ROBBIE! YOU SHOULD HAVE
ABORTED HIM! HAD I HAVE KNOWNS WHAT MY GRANDSON WAS TO
BECOME, I WOULD HAVE DONE IT MYSELF! I WOULD HAVE DONE
THE WORLD A FAVOR!”
Aten shuddered and rubbed Robbie’s belly. “Robbie….wake up….”
Robbie groaned and opened his eyes as he felt his husband shake nervously against
him. “Aten? What’s wrong?”
“YOU SHOULD HAVE ABORTED HIM, MIRANDA! KILLED ROBBIE OFF!
HE’S NO GOOD TO THIS FAMILY AS HE IS!”
Robbie’s eyes widened and he swallowed hard. “Nana?”
“That’s it, mom!” Daniel screamed. “You have to leave! Now! I’m not going to let
you stand here and bad-mouth my kid!”
“This evil gene must have come from your side of the family, Daniel! Nobody in
our family is a ass-smacking queer!”
Heavy footsteps sounded up the stairs.
Aten whimpered and shuddered. “Robbie….don’t let gantfatter tum in….”
Robbie heard Aten whimper and shake like a frightened child. “It’s okay, Aten,” he
said as he rubbed Aten’s hand. “Just hold onto me. I won’t let him in.”
Robbie had seen Aten’s reaction to angry people. It was a big trigger for him,
hearing people scream and yell.
“Daniel-darling, watch my jewelry box!” Vera cried out.
“It’s going, Vera! All of it!”
“Your son is going to burn in hell, Miranda! All because he married a FREAK like
that boy!” the old woman cried out angrily.
Aten bit his lip as a small sob came out of him. Robbie turned around in the bed
and wrapped his arms around his husband. Robbie pulled Aten’s head against his
chest. “Come here, Aten.”
The Egyptian buried his face in Robbie’s chest and continued to shake.
“Don’t you touch my things!” Vera threatened from the next room.
“Robbie…I have to leave. Have to get out. Get out. Get out.”
“Aten, look at me.”
Aten looked into Robbie’s eyes. “I can’t stay here. I have to leave.”
“MY GRANDSON IS BETTER OFF DEAD!”
Robbie nodded and took a deep breath. “I think you’re right, Aten. Come on, grab
your clothes. We’ll go out for breakfast.”
Robbie shifted out of bed and grabbed his cane. He limped across the room and
dressed himself as fast as he could. Aten grabbed his shirt and pants and trembled
as he dressed himself.
Both boys brushed their hair.
Aten grabbed money and opened the door quickly. Robbie limped close behind
him.
“Boys, where are you going?” Miranda asked.
“PROBABLY TO GO ELICIT LITTLE BOYS FOR SEX!”
Aten ran to the coat hanger and quickly put on his winter jacket. Aten ran out of
the house, shaking. Robbie narrowed his eyes as he zipped up his warm jacket.
“We’ll be back later,” he said angrily and shut the door behind him.
Robbie turned and saw Aten waiting nervously at the end of the driveway. “Aten?”
Robbie slowly approached Aten and grabbed Aten’s shoulders with both of his
hands. “Aten, we’re out of there, okay? Mom and Dad will take care of them.”
Aten nodded quietly. “She….called me a freak….”
Robbie tilted Aten’s chin up. “Hey, don’t worry about what that bitch says.
Besides,” Robbie gave Aten a small smile as he tapped his cane against the ground.
“I didn’t expect to be using a cane so soon. I used to think only old men used them.
I’m eighteen and I can’t get around without it. Chin up, Aten. They don’t
matter….” Robbie kissed Aten’s cheek. “You matter.”
The Egyptian smiled slowly. “I guess you’re right.”
“Course I’m right! Now let’s go take a nice walk.”
Robbie took Aten’s hand and the two boys walked down the street towards the
park. Aten helped Robbie across a patch of ice on the sidewalk.
“Are you bundled up enough, Aten?”
Aten nodded and slipped his gloves on. “Yes.”
“That’s good. I don’t want you getting sick.”
The couple walked to the park and towards the path through the woods. They saw
some children throwing snowballs in the distance. Older children were enjoying
sledding down the slope. A man was ice fishing in the river.
The wind blew through the dead branches of the trees.
Robbie and Aten continued to hold hands as they saw some squirrels digging up
their buried nuts.
Aten reached into his pocket and took out a peanut. “I have one left.”
“What are you doing with a peanut in your pocket?”
Aten snickered. “Well, my mother kissed my father and----.”
Robbie closed his eyes. “I didn’t ask THAT! I KNOW why you have a peanut! I’m
talking about the peanut in your jacket pocket.”
“I couldn’t resist. I have a peanut because I was out feeding the squirrels the other
day. I was thinking about you in the hospital and I was worried. So, I decided to
calm myself by watching them and feeding them. It was something to pass the time.
Besides, the poor things don’t have much to eat.”
Aten saw a squirrel nearby and tossed the nut. He kneeled down so as to not scare
the tiny creature. “Come here, little one. Take the nice peanut. Robbie, kneel
down, you’re going to scare it if you stand up.”
Robbie kneeled beside Aten and watched the animal jump towards the nut. “Come
on….take it….”
Aten smiled as the squirrel took the nut and scurried away with it.
“It was the last one I had. I have to go to the store and buy more.”
Aten and Robbie stood up.
“Hello, Aten,” a voice said as soon as they stood up.
Aten gasped. “KADIN!”
“The one and only! Aten, I haven’t seen you in a while.”
Aten gripped Robbie’s hand. His mouth hung open, but no words came out.
“Robbie, let’s go home.”
Robbie narrowed his eyes at Kadin. “With pleasure.”
Kadin ran around and jumped in front of them. “Hey, guys, I only wanted to say
hello. Aten, you haven’t called me or anything. Robbie! I’m glad to see that you
made it out of that awful situation in KaibaCorp! Not a scratch on you! That’s
good! What a relief!”
Robbie stepped back from Kadin. Something about Kadin made him
uncomfortable.
“Kadin, Aten has to go home.”
Kadin narrowed his eyes. “Are you afraid of him talking to anyone, Robbie? I’m
just saying hi to you guys.”
“Kadin…..ummm….really…we should go,” Aten said quickly.
Kadin shook his head. “I was there for you when Robbie was gone, Aten. You
can’t even give me a few minutes of your time?”
Aten swallowed hard as guilt set in. Kadin had hurt him…..but he was there for
him when Robbie was gone.
“Robbie, give me a moment.”
Aten pulled Kadin a safe distance away and looked at Robbie scowling at Kadin.
“Aten, how come you never called for me? You haven’t spoken one word to me
since Robbie came back.”
Aten swallowed hard. “Kadin, I didn’t……I didn’t like what you did to me.”
“Didn’t like what? Aten, you came. I know you liked it.”
“It hurt.”
“It’s gay sex. It’s supposed to hurt. Don’t tell me that when Robbie sticks it in you
that it’s painless.”
Aten shook his head. “No….it does hurt…but…..he stops when I tell him to. You
didn’t stop.”
“Aten, sometimes people get wrapped up in the moment. I couldn’t hear you. You
were speaking so quietly.”
Aten’s eyes filled with tears. “That’s because you were calling me ‘your whore.’”
Kadin reached up and Aten flinched. “But you are my whore. My special whore. I
want you again, Aten.”
“I can’t……I told you I only wanted to be with Robbie.”
“Then why did you let me fuck you?”
Aten winced from the venom in Kadin’s voice. “I….I want to be with Robbie
alone. I can’t see you anymore, Kadin. Goodbye.”
Aten turned and ran towards Robbie. Robbie wrapped his arms around Aten and
hugged him protectively.
Kadin watched Aten and Robbie walk away holding hands. The boy narrowed his
eyes. “This is not over….Onto my next victim.”
***************************
Aten and Robbie returned home. Aten kept his head lowered, his mind racing with
conflicting thoughts.
‘Kadin didn’t mean to hurt me…….but he didn’t stop….even when I begged him
to.’
‘Kadin didn’t know his own strength….that’s why it hurt when he hit me.’
Robbie watched Aten from the corner of his eye. Aten was biting his lip, his eyes
cast down onto the concrete in front of his feet.
Robbie stopped at the corner. “Aten. Stop.”
“Stop what?”
“What did Kadin tell you?”
The Egyptian swallowed hard. “He…he wanted to know why I haven’t called
him.”
“You seem awfully upset. Did he say something to you?”
“No….that’s all he wanted to know.”
Robbie’s crystal blue eyes looked into the brown and purple eyes of his husband.
“I’m just concerned, Aten. I don’t trust him. Something about him
seems…..shady.”
“Well, he was there to listen to me while you were at KaibaCorp. I was very
worried about you. He always came to check on me. He knew I was upset.”
Robbie stepped towards Aten and cupped Aten’s face in his hands. He leaned
against Aten to keep his balance without his cane. “Are you telling me the truth?”
Robbie asked quietly.
Aten nodded silently. “Yes, Robbie.”
Robbie kissed Aten on the lips deeply. The Egyptian closed his eyes and melted
against his husband’s body. Aten pulled Robbie close to his body and rubbed
Robbie’s back.
“I love you, Aten. I’m sorry if I tend to get a little…protective.”
Aten shook his head. “It’s okay….you’re entitled to be protective. I don’t blame
you.”
Robbie and Aten continued towards home.
“Robbie….tonight…can we watch a movie? You and me…..and some popcorn?”
Robbie grinned. “Now THAT sounds like a plan!!! We can watch ‘The Mummy’!”
Aten hugged Robbie. “That sounds like fun!”
Robbie smiled and squeezed Aten’s hand reassuringly. “It’s a date.”
As they approached their home, they found Vera and the grandmother getting into a
cab.
“This night is going to be better than imagined,” Robbie grinned.

Aria smiled as she tucked Kai into bed. “Goodnight, my little Sea Prince.” Aria
kissed her son on the cheek.
“Mommy?”
“Yes, honey?”
“Is my bruvver dawna be bornded soon?”
Aria smiled down and rubbed her protruding belly. “Zira says mommy only has
eight more weeks before the baby is due. In two months, you’ll be a big brother.”
“Is it a boy or girl?”
Aria smiled. “Zira said the baby is a boy.”
“How can he tell if de baby is a boy?”
Aria sat on the bed. “Remember when mommy took you to the hospital and they
put that gel on mommy’s belly? The nurse put a little pad on mommy’s belly and
you saw the baby move?”
Kai nodded up and down excitedly. “He was reawwy tiny!”
“Well, the doctor can tell from looking at the baby if it is a boy or a girl.”
“How can they?”
Aria snickered. She remembered torturing her father with these questions. Bakura
would always stammer and call Ryou in a panic.
‘Ryou, help! Aria wants to know what a vagina is for!’
‘Ryou, help! Aria wants to know how to wash herself properly!’
….And the ultimate answer to the question of ‘Daddy, what is a penis?’
Bakura always answered, ‘I’ll tell you when you’re thirty.’
“Well, honey, when the doctor looks at the baby’s picture, they look to see if the
baby has a penis or no penis.”
“Oh! So the doctor saw me nakkie in your tummy?!”
Aria giggled and laughed. “Yes, baby, the doctor saw you nakkie.”
Kai blushed and giggled. “He sawed my butt!”
Aria laughed. “Yes, honey, he saw your little butt. Your little baby butt.”
Kai turned over on his stomach and rose to his knees and wiggled it. “He saw my
butt butt butt!”
Aria gave Kai’s butt a playful pat. “Okay, little boy, it’s time for all chibis to get to
beddie bye.”
Kai slipped under the covers and yawned. “Otay, mommy.”
Aria leaned over and kissed her son’s cheek. “Pleasant dreams, angel.”
“Night, mommy.”
Umi walked in and kissed Kai goodnight. “Goodnight, big guy. Be good and go
right to sleep.”
“Otay, daddy….Daddy?”
“Yes, son?”
“Did the doctor see your butt when you were in your mommy’s tummy?”
Umi shot Aria a quizzical look. “What have you been teaching our kid?”
“ME?! I didn’t do anything!”
“Daddy wasn’t with his mother for a long time, Kai. In fact, I don’t remember my
mother at all. My father loved her, though. That much I do remember.”
Kai yawned. “Your mommy no live wif you and your daddy?”
“No, son. She didn’t. My mommy gave me to my father when I was very very
little….I was younger than you. My father raised me by himself. But you don’t have
to worry about that, Kai. Your mommy and daddy love you and each other very,
very much.”
Kai smiled. “Dat’s good….betaws if you weft, mommy, I would be vewy sad.”
“Aww, baby boy. You don’t ever have to worry about one of us leaving.”
Kai yawned again as his eyelids fluttered. “I luv haffing my mommy and
…..*yawn*……daddy.”
Umi and Aria put Kai’s toy dolphin by his side and kissed him. “Goodnight,
sweetheart.”
The couple walked out of the room and shut the door.
“We have a special kid in there, Aria,” Umi said with a smile, bringing her into his
arms.
Aria smiled. “We’ll soon have two special kids,” she smiled, pressing her body
against Umi’s.
The girl brought Umi into a deep, heated kiss. Umi moaned into the kiss, letting his
hands run down Aria’s side.
Aria tilted her head back with a smile as Umi kissed and licked her neck.
“Umi,” she moaned as she felt the baby inside her start to kick.
Umi looked down. “Active little boy, isn’t he?”
“Let’s go into the Living Room before we wake our boy up.”
Umi snickered. “That was a benefit of not living with both parents. I didn’t have to
hear my folks goin’ at it.”
“Especially in front of your bedroom door,” Aria added.
“Yeah, come on. Let’s continue this in the Living Room.”
Aria giggled and followed her husband to the Living Room where they cuddled
underneath a blanket together.
Aria smiled and snuggled into Umi.
*****************************
Yami looked into the window and watched Aria and Umi cuddle on the couch.
‘Aria’s pregnancy is progressing. If I kill her, Aten will stand alone….and the
Scripture’s Prophecy will not become reality. She must die….along with her
husband and son. With her pregnancy progressing, she won’t dare use her Shadow
Powers for fear of harming her unborn child.’
Yami burst into the house, startling Umi and Aria.
Aria gasped and rose to her feet with Umi. “Pharaoh! What do you want?!”
Yami grinned. “I want your death to become a reality.”
Umi narrowed his eyes and grabbed a spear which hung on the wall. “Stay away
from her!”
Yami raised his hand. “TO THE SHADOW REALM WITH YOU!”
Umi disappeared and Aria gasped.
“Umi!”
Yami narrowed his eyes and thrust his hand forward. Aria was pinned against the
wall of the living room, her body unable to move.
The pharaoh laughed. “What’s the matter, Aria? Afraid of the Shadow Powers your
father has given you? If you are so powerful, use your powers to defeat me.”
Aria narrowed her eyes. “I…..I can’t….What if I harm the baby?”
Yami grinned and disappeared into the kitchen. Aria fought against invisible bonds
that held her to the wall. “Umi!”
Yami returned with a knife Umi used to gut the fish he caught for dinner. “I should
gut you….and that little bastard in your womb!”
“Yami, no!”
“After I gut you, I will gut your child….like the minnow he is.”
Aria narrowed her eyes. “You stay away from my son!”
Kai’s cry came from his room. “MOMMY!”
Aria struggled violently against the invisible bonds.
“When you are dead, Aria, nothing will stand in my way of achieving victory. The
seven Millennium Items will be mine…including your Millennium Trident and your
brother’s Scepter of Ra!”
“You leave Aten alone!”
“Don’t worry, Aria. Aten will join you soon. I will gut him like the common whelp
he is….and sacrifice his body to the gods. Nothing will be left for your parents to
bury. You and your brother will be unrecognizable.”
Aria felt the baby in her womb kick. “You bastard pharaoh.”
Yami grinned. “I may be a bastard….but at least I will continue. I will live on! Aria
Kanika Itemri, I sentence you to death!”
*****************************
Robbie sat down with a large bowl of popcorn and a tall glass of soda. He handed
Aten a smaller bowl full of unsalted popcorn. Robbie took a blanket and draped it
over himself and Aten.
Aten cuddled next to his husband and threw a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
“I love this movie,” the Egyptian said.
Robbie smiled and kissed Aten’s cheek and smiled.
//Aten………….//
Aten looked around. “Aria?”
//Aten…..help!!!!!!! Please!!!//
Aten felt a wave of fear coming from his sister.
/Aria, what is wrong?/
//YAMI! PLEASE! ATEN!!!!!!!!//
Aten stood up and Robbie lifted his head.
“Aten, where are you going?”
Aten turned his head and his eyes were pitch black. His hair spiked and his
canines grew. “I’ll be back, Robert.”
Robbie watched Aten run upstairs. His yami-husband arrived back downstairs with
the Scepter of Ra in his hand. “I shall return.”
“Aten, wait! What about our movie?!”
Yami Aten turned and gripped the Scepter of Ra. “No waiting. I will be back. My
sister’s life is in danger!”
Yami Aten ran into the night.
