And another
update, this story seems to be writing itself…
I’m glad,
you folks like the new, ‘improved’ Katsuya, I can’t stand it, how he’s being
portrayed in the anime.
Mr. Tee,
thanks for clearing that dilemma. In all those fanfics I read, it was
never really made clear, which one’s his first name(although, if I had given it
some thought, I might have guessed it by myself)!
I will
correct my mistake..but not just yet, too busy updating!^^
Next: the
Kaiba Bros.-beware!

6. Southwind
The drive
to the Kaiba Corp. building passed in eerie silence.
Seto, one long
leg slung across the other, glared unseeing out the shaded windows of his
limousine.
His brain
tried to sum up, what had happened today, and to be honest, he didn’t like the
results.
First:
Katsyua seemed to be out of sorts, quiet and reclined.
Second:
Obviously, the blond was a whole lot smarter, than people gave him credit for.
Third(Which
bugged Kaiba the most): The pup was far stronger, than he had anticipated. Did
this mean, that through all their fights, Katsuya had been holding back? That
he never really gave his all in those little brawls they had? That he didn’t
see him, Seto Kaiba, as worthy opponent, to test his skills upon?
If so, then
it only comfirmed Seto’s suspicion: the mutt didn’t consider him his superior.
He was not
impressed by neither Seto’s appearance, name, wealth, power, intelligence,
cunning nor social status.
All the
other students(and most teachers too) would step out his way, when he rushed
through the halls of Domino High. Everybody, even Yugi, Yami, Honda, Anzu and
the rest of Yugi’s group acknowledged and accepted his supremacy.
His
suitors, employees, business partners and enemies feared and respected him,
even if those feelings mostly went hand in hand with hatred.
Jounouchi
didn’t, and he was determinded to put the dog in his place. Just how to do
that, was the question.
So lost
within his own thoughts, Seto never noticed, that Mokuba had been similar
quiet.
The limo
came to a stop and Kaiba got out, automatically holding the door open for his
younger brother.
When this
one didn’t appear, he bent down and asked:
“Well, are
you coming?”
Shaken from
his reverie, Mokuba nodded and climbed over the seats to join his brother.
They
entered the high building and crossed the hall in silence. Once the heavy shielded
doors of the elevator slid closed, Seto adressed his raven-haired sibling:
“You have
been awfully quiet today, Mokuba. Does my fight with the mutt bother you that
much?”
Looking up,
the young boy nodded, then shook his head, and finally settled for a shrug.
“No, not
really, I mean, I was impressed, I didn’t know, Katsuya was that strong,
but that’s not it. It’s what I saw after the fight.”
Seto cocked
a brow.
“Fingerprints.
Are you sure?” requested Seto, and Mokuba nodded. He sat on the large desk in Seto’s
office, facing his brother, who had settled himself into his usual chair.
“Yeah, it
looked like somebody grabbed his arm and then tried to strangle it. The arm, I
mean.”
His own arms
crossed, the elder Kaiba brother pondered this for a moment. Then, his blue
eyes snapped open, and turned to Mokuba.
“You think,
anybody else saw this? Yugi, or Honda?” His little brother declined.
“No, Honda
surely not, and Yugi’s a bit taller than me, and I only saw the bruise, because
Jou placed his hand on my shoulder, so the sleeve of his t-shirt stood out.”
Again, icy
orbs closed in reconsideration, then popped open, as Seto nodded and rose.
“Very well,
then. Let’s get to business! After all, Kaiba Corp. doesn’t run by itself.”
>Blinking in
confusion, his brother questioned:
“Uhh, what
about Katsuya?”
“What about
him?” shot Seto back. Mokuba cringed, he hated it, when his brother used that
tone. It always meant trouble for the ones involved.
“Well, what
are you gonna do about..because..well, you know”, he ended lamely.
A tight,
cold smirk graced the brunet's lips, when he replied:
“We, my
dear Mokuba, are not going to do anything about it. Yet.”

Yeah, I
know, ‘what, that short? The chapter’s already over?’ Yes, it is, but there’s
another one waiting right up..
