Summary: Seto needs a new Administrative Liason. As a publicity stunt Kaiba Corp holds a kind of The Apprentice meets Joe Millionaire contest. Jou wants that job. With the help of a fairy god ‘Auntie’ with a tarnished halo, he enters the contest. This is that tale.
***
Pegasus was barely suppressing his chuckles. Kaiba-boy would have lost if it had been timed even a split second differently. And the appearance of the red-eyes had been a masterful stroke. It had been too brief for the monster to form totally, but most had recognized it. They knew Kaiba had lost even though the match had been technically a draw. Gleefully he marked Kawai Joie to go into the next round. He knew he could mark off the next three contestants. Kaiba was in a cold rage and would demolish them as easily as he had the final candidate before lunch. It truly wasn’t fair, but then, who said life was fair? Humming under his breath he sent another risqué text to Croquet. ** Seto paced and mentally went over the details of the match. His every move was flawless. His strategies and plan worked perfectly. He should have crushed the nobody Kawai with ease. Instead he’d been battling for his life points as if he were dueling Yugi or Jounouchi. And that last series of moves. They had been perfectly executed. If he’d played his strategic combination at any time the result would have been the same. Not the loss everyone thought, but it would have been close. After his battle with Jounouchi he’d re-evaluated his strategy and seen the weakness. He had held the card in his hand to protect himself. But for Kawai Joie to have the one card that exploited it was stretching coincidence too far. She’d studied his deck and the games he’d played, even the latest one with Jounouchi and formulated her plan. That was probably what she’d been doing all morning. Not sick, but planning. Grudging admiration poked its way up through his anger. She was a worthy opponent. And that just pissed him off more. Because not only did she have the skills and talents he wanted and needed in an Executive Liaison, she had a cunning mind that would work well with his own devious twists. He would hire her on the spot if not for one issue. Even as he thought it his heart skipped a beat. That half-smile, almost like a question mark, had reminded him of Jounouchi so strongly that his very sated, aching body, had twanged in response as if it were Jou smiling at him. He wouldn’t allow it. He simply couldn’t risk it. One Jounouchi in his life was plenty for him. He was not an animal and refused to sniff after her like some helpless mutt after a bitch in heat. He was not attracted to her, only her resemblance to the lover probably dozing in his office. ** Joie and Matsu-san strolled along the pathways chatting casually with well-wishers who approached them. When they were alone the older woman asked, “Where is your Aunt Gian?” “She is in the stands watching the rest of the duels.” “Oh. Is she very angry at her friend Sanu for the picture in the paper?” “Wh...why do you think Sanu did it?” “Why the angle of course. If you remember how his van was parked it’s obvious where someone was standing to take the picture. And all of his staff was circulating the food. He was running back and forth to the van to bring in any supplies we needed.” Matsu-san shrugged. “Process of elimination coupled with opportunity. I could be wrong but I don’t think so.” “I hadn’t thought of that. Thank you.” Joie broke off as a short man with long black hair falling to his shoulders, and eyes and face obscured by black sunglasses approached them and bowed. “Congratulations to both of you.” A soft, mellow voice that Joie instantly recognized murmured. “Thank you.” The small man demurred and observed, “I believe you both will be in the top five. It is quite an accomplishment.” Matsu-san smiled graciously “You are too kind.” “Not at all. It is simply a fact.” With a low bow the man extracted two jewelers’ boxes from his pocket and handed one to each of them. “Please accept these as a token of my esteem. Remember me kindly.” Before they could press them back and deny he bowed and melted into the crowd. “We can’t take these.” Matsu-san stated firmly even as she opened the box. Joie blinked and stared at the hair clip in the other woman’s box. Multi-colored stones set in an intricate design glittered in the sun, sending out rainbows of light. Matsu-san flipped it over and gasped as she recognized the designer name. “These are not costume jewelry. They are real and very expensive. We must find him and return them.” Joie opened hers and couldn’t stop her exclamation. A cascade of white gold and amethyst formed a beautiful butterfly. It was delicate, exquisite, and femininely beautiful. It didn’t do a thing for her. She closed the lid with a snap. “Decent women do not accept expensive gifts from strange men. I will give this to Kaiba-san and ask that he return it. We should not be importuned like this.” “I agree, however I think I will hold on to mine for the moment. I think I know where to find that young man. Toshi-san mentioned seeing him and I want to find out where.” “All right then. But I am going to find Kaiba-san. He should be at the arena.” Joie set off, not only to find Mokuba, but to try to pry information from him about why Yugi was running around in costume giving away expensive presents. She had gained the arena entrance when it hit him. Expensive presents, jewelers, and Mokuba this morning. This was part of Seto’s tests. Slowing her determined stride she thought about what could be going on. On impulse she dialed Gian’s number. She answered on the first ring. “Joie! He took out the next one in under a minute. The other candidate has agreed to duel early, ten minutes after her defeat. Where are you?” “I’m at the lower entrance on the north. Aunt Gian could you meet me here? I’ll be seated at on the bench across from the entrance.” Gian could hear the worry in her voice. “Of course. I’m on my way right now.” Joie didn’t see the little girl staring at her in delight, nor did she see Chou Gina dash off to find her father. They’d been looking for Gina-Gian all day, knowing she’d be here for Joie, but they hadn’t seen her once. Gina couldn’t help but think that she had become the official Gina-Gian finder. Gian met him with a searching glance. “What’s wrong Joie?” In a low undertone she explained about the hair clip, Yugi, and the jewelers. Gian listened without interrupting then nodded slowly. “Yes, I believe you are right. It is a test. Probably of integrity. My advice is to give it to Kaiba-san or Kaiba-sama.” “Yeah, I kinda thought that too.” Joie nodded and sighed. “Well that’s settled.” She smiled wryly. “Now the only thing left to tell you is about the photograph in the paper.” Gian went rigid. “You don’t need to tell me. I already know. Chou-san was up to his old tricks. He was angry at me and decided to lash out at you. The byline is the same as the one who broke the story about him and me.” Joie blinked and stared at her friend. “Gian, that isn’t what I was going to say. I don’t think Chou-san could have done it. He was too busy chasing you around last night to worry about me. I was going to point out the angle of the picture, where the catering van was parked, and that Sanu was running back and forth to the van. I...I believe Sanu or one of his crew took the picture.” “Sanu?” Anger crackled through Gian’s voice. “He would never do this. He has been my one constant friend through everything. We grew up together, he offered to protect me when Chou-san fed me to the papers and abandoned me. I broke his heart when I went away and it was only his support that gave me the strength to return.” “Then it had to be one of the other caterers because nobody else had reason to be out there.” “You won’t convince me it was Sanu or one of his people.” Gian was firm, as unshakeable as a boulder. When Joie would have argued a deep voice interrupted. “You won’t convince her. I tried for a long time to get her to see that Sanu was jealous of us and wanted to have her for himself.” Chou-san nodded to his sons. “Please take your sister to some of the attractions. This is a conversation we must hold in private.” Over the little girls protests her brother’s dragged her away. Gian, after a blistering glare, turned to stare at the flowers. “Gina...Gian, I did not disclose you to the papers. When I left that morning my father’s people grabbed me and dragged me home to face him. His bastard daughter, my sister, was pregnant and in disgrace. Nobody knew of her connection to us. She did not have our name and her mother did not dare tell anyone for fear of their lives. He made a bargain with me. As it was obvious I would not carry on the family name, if I agreed to marry her and give her and her bastard the family name, he would spare your life. If I refused he would destroy you and arrange for your death. He threatened to make it look like a suicide. I denied him. I told him no. That afternoon the story of your gender broke. He told me that a good friend of yours agreed with him that we should be apart and gave him the information. The stage was set for your suicide. It would have looked real Gian, and nobody would have questioned it closely. You’d fooled the entire nation.” He took a deep breath and knelt beside the rigid woman. “I yielded. I couldn’t let him do that to you. I know you say that the Yakuza wouldn’t hurt you, but my father would, to protect and ensure our family line, he would.” “I see.” Her voice was thick, and she cleared it before continuing. “So I am to believe that you, who married your own sister and fathered at least a daughter with her, have more credibility than a man I grew up with, one who has stood by my side every minute?” “Gina...Gina is her mother’s daughter...but not mine. They, all of the children know that they are not my biological children. But they are the children of my heart. Gian please, I beg you, investigate the writer of the stories, ask Sanu, ask the other people around. I didn’t send the stories to the papers either then or now.” The older man stood and bowed slightly. “Just ask Gian. If you’re right you have been vindicated in your hate but if you’re wrong...what if you’re wrong Gian?” Without another word he turned and strode away. When Joie would have spoken Gian said simply “Don’t. Let’s go to the arena. There should be two duels left.” ** Gian was wrong. There were no more duels. Saiki-san and Ai-san had both forfeited and left Kaibaland. After witnessing the ferocity of Kaiba as he dueled they no longer wanted the position of his Executive Liaison. He was too frightening were their last words before they exited. He accepted their forfeits with a brief nod to each before stepping onto the deck and announcing the end of the duels. There was a concerted moan of disappointment from the crowd but he waved and smiled, thanking them for coming and reminding them to enjoy all of the attractions of Kaibaland before they left. Once off the deck he signaled for Pegasus to come down and render his decisions of who would advance and who would go home. The silver-haired man smiled at them and complimented. “All of you did very well. I was impressed. Of course only five of you may advance but I wanted to tell you how very pleased I was to see you duel. I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. The top five, in order of when they appeared, are Nyoko-san, Shika-san, Toshi-san, Matsu-san, and Kawai-san.” Tori-san, and Yuuka-san realized their names would not be called at the same time and bowed their heads. They couldn’t argue because the chosen ones had been the best duelists, but they had hoped. Seto smiled politely and nodded. “Thank you. It was a pleasure to duel you.” They didn’t wait around. The smile may have been polite, but it had a sharp edge to it that gave them the chills. They bowed politely, and left the arena. Seto reminded the remaining five. “Tomorrow is chess. I will play you all at the same time. Report to the Kaiba Corp building no later than ten o’clock tomorrow morning. With a precise bow he left them standing in the arena. Pegasus chuckled. “Well well, looks like Kaiba boy is feeling a bit testy. And after the extended lunch he had too.” He clicked his tongue and shook his head. “He probably needs a nap.” Joie delicately yawned and stretched. “Hmmm it has been a long few days. I wouldn’t mind a nap either. Aunt Gian, do you feel like going home?” “Yes. Let’s go home. I have a few overdue phone calls to make.” The ride home was silent, each of the cross-dressers caught up in their own thoughts. Joie smiled as she sank into her bed. It had been so long since she’d been able to relax that she simply sprawled limply. Thoughts of Gian, Yugi and Seto tried to invade her peace but she forcibly shut down her mind. She refused to think about it. She’d call Yugi and Seto later, and Gian had made it perfectly clear that she did not want to talk. Closing her eyes she dozed lightly until she realized and sat up abruptly. “Fuck! Kaiba’s gonna wonder where I went.” She reached for her cell phone. Mokuba answered on the first ring. “Hey Jou.” “Mokuba, can ya do me a favor?” The blond’s voice was urgent. “Depends on what it is.” “Can you ask Seto to come over ta my place for dinner about seven? I’m...I wanna talk to him.” “I dunno if he can, but I’ll ask.” “Thanks Mokuba. Hey, umm...why was Yugi running around with a bad dye job talking to girls today?” Mokuba laughed “Don’t ask about his costume and I won’t ask about yours. Ja ne Jou...” The younger man hung up on the gasping blond. Shaking off the shock, hoping Mokuba meant when Jou had worn Seto’s shirt and jacket out of the arena, Jou glanced at the clock. With a smile he stood and started to strip and change back into himself. He had a few hours to get ready. Dashing off a quick note to Gian, he rushed to his apartment and opened the windows. While it aired of the empty, unused scent he rushed down to the store to pick up what he needed for dinner and while it simmered, he laid out his chess set. He’d joined the chess club his first year of college hoping to find common ground with Seto. He found much more. The strategies, traps, and counter traps fascinated him as much as duel monsters had. He wasn’t a master but he was good, and with a little help from his lover Joie might just beat Kaiba Seto. ********** Gian stared at the telephone as if it were a snake hypnotizing him with its promise of knowledge. If... It was all he could think of... If... Closing his eyes he shuddered and tried to block out that word but it continued to echo in his mind. Unable to bear another second he dialed the number that he knew better than his own. It was one that he’d known since second grade, since he’d met Sanu. It had never struck him as odd before, but now doubt crept in. Why had Sanu not gotten another number in all these years? When his parents died during his absence he’d simply moved the number to his home. Suddenly that struck him as odd. His oldest friend answered on the first ring, as he always did. “Gian!” Warm and caring, as always. Why was he doing this? Why? Because a picture was taken near his van? “Sanu. I...I...I believe someone in your catering crew may have sent a picture of Joie and Kaiba to the newspaper.” Blunt, too blunt perhaps, but not an accusation against him, not her dearest friend. “Picture? What picture?” Sanu’s voice was breathless with his surprise. “On the front page. You haven’t seen it then?” “No! But I will look immediately. Gian, if you need a place to hide, my home is always open.” Tenderness filled his voice. “You don’t need to be dragged through this again. Chou should not have tried to hurt you again. He was following you around at the party. I should have stopped him then but I felt you wanted to deal with it on your own. He owes you for his betrayal.” “Sanu, I don’t believe it was him. The angle of the picture suggests the photographer was at your catering van. Also Chou was in the same group as I was at the time it was taken. I...could you ask them for me?” She heard his breath catch, just a small sound, but it said so much. It said, ‘my friend you surprise and hurt me.’ “Of course.” Sanu soothed, his voice was smooth and loving. “Anything for you, you know that. And if one of my people did send that photo to Haroumi Kenta I will deal with them harshly.” Choking back tears Gian mumbled a soft goodbye and disconnected. It was rare for a newspaper to give a byline to anyone. If Sanu hadn’t read the paper or seen the picture there was only one way he could know that Haroumi Kena’s byline had appeared with it. He had to have given it to the reporter himself. Pain and betrayal poured through him as tears fell in an endless river down his face. His oldest friend, most trusted confidant had betrayed him and ripped his world apart. ** Naoko sat quietly at his dinner table and watched as his daughter, still furious with her brothers for dragging her away from Gian, made faces and pouted at the twins. Like the superior teenage boys they were, they ignored her antics and ate their meal. “Gina, that’s enough. It was not a conversation for you. You are still a little girl and I needed to speak to Gian as an adult.” Her older brother gave her a taunting look. “Yeah, so butt out. You’re just a little kid.” “Huh! I’m more grown up than you Jiro! At least I don’t have to sleep with Taro or mess the bed and have to wash the sheets every night.” Then she clapped her hands over her mouth. That was her biggest tool to get her brother’s to let her get away with stuff and she’d just blurted it out. Fearfully she looked from her brothers, who’d gone completely white, to her father. He was staring at her brothers like he’d never seen them before, his face turning dark red. “Gina...” Her father’s voice was thin and sounded like the wind on a bamboo reed. “Go to your room now. Do not come out until morning.” “But I don’t wanna! I want...” She started to protest when a light sting on her cheek made her eyes widen and fill with tears. “Daddy...you ...” “Just go. None of your sass. Go now. I must have a conversation with your brothers. Do not come out Gina.” Sobbing dramatically because her daddy had smacked her, she ran to her room. The older man stared at his sons. “Explain.” “F...father...” Jiro faltered then turned to Taro. His lover’s arm reached to embrace him. Taro pulled Jiro protectively close. “What is there to explain? You’re not ignorant of our kind of sex. You’ve pined for a male lover for years, even though you were wed to your own sister.” “You...both of you...” He was at sea. He’d never suspected this. “You have no shame?” “Shame?” His son all but shouted. “Why should we? We’re not the ones who did this. It was your shame that caused this. Grandfather was determined that we would have a disgust of sex with men. He beat us; he sodomized us with different items, even allowed men to rape us. We share that as our first memories. If we showed any kind of response beyond pain and disgust he would beat us more. And where were you father? Where were you when we begged and cried for mercy, when we screamed for you as strange men used us?” He drew a ragged breath. “I’ll tell you. You were searching for your precious Gina. While we were tortured beyond sanity or morality you sought your perfect lover.” “Your mother...” He tried to defend himself but knew it was useless. There was no excuse he could offer for his blind selfishness. “Mother was terrified of grandfather. She told us once that she got pregnant with us at his demand. She had planned to remain chaste. A stranded motorist was used as a sperm donor and disposed of. When grandfather learned that your Gina was back in the country he ordered her to become pregnant again and another man disappeared forever. Gina is the result.” “I didn’t know. I swear I didn’t. But surely you know...surely you understand that what you do is wrong?” “Wrong? What is wrong with finding comfort and love in the arms of the one person who truly understands? We can’t function sexually with anyone else. Only we understand the needs we have...for both pleasure and pain. There is no wrong, not to us.” “Kami says...” “Why should we give a damn about Kami when he abandoned us to become as we are?” Jiro found his voice. It was hard with bitterness. “He can’t judge us when he left us to survive alone.” Pain and regret seared Naoko. “My sons...” “The time for apology is long gone. We are as we are. Accept it or we’ll leave.” Taro stood and pulled Jiro up beside him. “If dinner is over we’re going dancing.” “But...wait...you...” “There is nothing left to say Father. The rest is up to you.” The boys walked out of the room as a unit. For hours he sat, his dinner congealing to a mass in front of him as the years paraded through his mind. Little things that he’d dismissed but now stood out with glaring clarity. His sister, so sad and alone, afraid to even speak in their father’s presence. Her unexpected lack of male suitors, and even the surprise birth of Gina. It all made sense. Tears of regret and rage fell unheeded down his face. To think that his father could hate him so much that he’d caused all this. The distant chime of the doorbell went unheard for long moments. Gina poked her head out of her room to see who’d come. She was surprised to see her daddy sitting as still as a statue except for the tears sliding down his cheeks. Frightened, she rushed to the door. Maybe whoever was there could help. Without looking she threw the door wide. After a moment of recognition she dove at the familiar figure. “Gina-Gian...I’m so glad you’re here. Something’s wrong with daddy and Jiro and Taro are gone. Please...” She dragged the visitor to the dining room. “Daddy’s ...” But Gian was already rushing to the other man. “Naoko! Naoko! What’s wrong? What’s happened?” Slowly, as if a heavy weight were holding him down, he looked at Gian. “Gian... Why now? Why when it’s all destroyed do you come? Why now?” He buried his face in his hands and sobbed with all of his broken heart. “Naoko...Naoko! Speak to me. Tell me what’s wrong.” Gian’s heart, already ripped apart, began to bleed with the pain of his lover. He could see that Naoko was lost for now. And he could see little Gina stifling her sobs with a fist. First he’d help the child, and then he’d help the man. “Gina, your father is sad. I’m going to talk to him for a while. Could you be a big help and clear the table and load the dishwasher? I’ll be in to make tea and help you presently.” Firmly he tugged the sobbing man’s arm. “Stand up now. We are moving into the other room so you don’t frighten Gina. Move your butt Naoko you are frightening your daughter.” The older man shuffled to his feet and swayed. Gian clamped his arm around the thin waist and guided him into what he hoped was a private room. “Gina...” Naoko whimpered softly as he settled him on the side of a large bed and moved to go to reassure the little girl. “Gian, please...Just for a moment, forget you hate me, and hold me please. I need to know that you loved me once. I need to know not everything was a lie. Please Gina...Gian...” Tenderly the transvestite wrapped his ex-lover in his arms and pulled him tightly to his chest. “I truly loved you. I only hated you because I loved you. Lie down and rest. I’ll be here when you wake.” “I only ever wanted to love you. I never meant for ...” The tear-blurred voice drifted away as he fell into a heavy sleep. Gian held him, rocking gently, crooning an ancient Nagauta into the mussed, sweaty hair. Gina, kitchen clean, looked around for her daddy and Gina-Gian. She cocked her head slightly as she walked to her daddy’s bedroom. A soft voice, as pretty as an angel’s, was singing softly. Enchanted, she followed the music. She hesitated at the doorway as she saw Gina-Gian holding her daddy like a baby, rocking, and singing. Gian smiled at his audience and nodded, beckoning her forward. “Shhh....Daddy’s asleep.” She sang without changing the rhythm of her song. The little girl nodded and slid on the other side of her dear daddy. With a sigh she laid her head against his arm, closed her eyes, and enjoyed the music as it carried her into a world where mommies sang pretty songs and smelled of sweet perfume. When Taro and Jiro, eyes as tortured as their fathers had been, crept into the house, then the room and knelt beside the bed, Gian simply nodded and continued to sing her sad, epic song as they let their tears fall, pulling them into deep slumber. ** Kaiba seethed all the way back to his office. Not only had the blonde girl nearly beaten him, but Jou hadn’t come back up to the arena, the lazy dog. His anger cooled slightly as a cute picture of Jou curled up on his couch fast asleep formed. He had put the blond through a hard workout. When he found his office empty of blond boyfriend or a note his anger raged again. What the hell was Jou doing? Where was he? With a snarl he opened his phone to call the absent man only to pause. He didn’t have Jounouchi’s phone number on speed dial. He’d just fixed that when Matashi and Pegasus burst into the room, closely followed by Croquet and Aishira. “Seto, there’s a problem with the wording in the I.I. contract. We need to discuss it.” With a sigh the CEO closed his phone. “What’s the problem now?” They’d just found a resolve and sent Croquet to make the changes when Mokuba poked his head around the door. “Seto! You were busy earlier and I didn’t want to interrupt. But Croquet is typing the changes so...well Jou left a message. He wanted you to come over to his place about seven.” The eldest Kaiba glanced at his watch and then back to his brother. “It’s almost seven now. Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” “You were busy and you always say work comes first.” Mokuba reminded him virtuously. Seto glared at him and promised, “That’s two I owe you.” “Two? What are you...?” But at his brothers level stare gulped and backed out of the room. Okay so maybe interrupting them earlier had been a bad idea. Seto sighed and looked at the men in his office. “I’ll sign it tomorrow. I have a date.” When Matashi and Aishira would have protested Pegasus laughed and waved his hand “Go ahead Dear Boy. Enjoy your evening. Business should not come before true love after all.” At seven-eleven, just as Jou was getting anxious, Seto rang the doorbell. “Hey! I was just thinkin’ ya were mad at me fer leavin’” Jou beamed happily and tugged him inside. “I should be. That’s the second time you’ve left me.” The brunet glared for a moment then tugged the blond close for a hug. “I don’t like it.” He admitted gruffly. “I didn’t want ta see ya squash ‘em. Seein’ ya up there gets me hot and bothered and since I’m too... uh still recovering from lunch I thought I’d better pass.” Jou admitted, his face burning dark red. Concern lit the blue eyes. “Recovering? You’re too what? Are you hurt? Do you need to see someone?” “I’m sore and bleeding a little. Tore some of th’ skin inside is all. Nothin’ bad. I talked to a friend about it and he told me ta just use a pad for a few days and not...uh...irritate further.” Seto’s strong arms tightened protectively around Jou. “I’m sorry. I know you haven’t...I know you’re new to this. I should have taken better care of you.” The blond sighed and moved to Seto’s side, keeping one arm wrapped around his lover’s waist. “You took care of me just fine. It ain’t bad or nothin’, jus’ annoying. Hey! C’mon in. Dinner’s ready and the movie’s in the player.” “Dinner? Movie?” “Yeah. I made some beef and vegetable noodles, heavy on th’ beef. An’ we’re gonna eat it while we watch the ultimate movie.” Jou laughed and dragged him into the carefully laid living room. “Ultimate movie?” “Yeah, it’s great! It’s got motorcycles, sex, aliens, clones, great music, sex... and did I mention a transsexual transvestite?” Jou bubbled enthusiastically as he peeled off Seto’s jacket and tossed it on the chair next to a discreetly placed chess set. “Transvestite?” That could be a positive sign. “What movie?” “Ah man, you mean you don’t know? It’s a cult classic. I even have a costume like the main character’s. I dressed up last year for a showing. The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Seto blinked and stared for a moment. “Jou...that...I’ve seen it but I...only under duress. It...it’s ...” “Seto have ya ever watched it with the thought that it makes fun of everything? Life, death, humans, movies, fear, bigotry, everything? And that it asks you to laugh too?” “I...not like that precisely. I consider it a spoof on bad horror movies only.” “Then look at it that way. It’s making fun of some of the narrow minded stupid shit in the world and bad horror movies.” Jou chuckled “I have a Doctor Frank-n-Furter costume. No cape and the shoes are clear Lucite instead of black and white but everything else, like sleeve things, glittery mesh vest thing with the leather laces, charcoal garter belt, black silk panties and fishnet stockings all look the same.” Jou bit his lip and confessed “I don’t have the makeup, and I don’t like th’ wig ‘cause it don’t look right on me, but I do like th’ way the other stuff looks.” That was surprising and peaked Seto’s interest. If Jou liked to cross dress then gaining acceptance for them would be easier than he’d expected. He had to test the waters first. “Hnn...so you are a closet Lolita hmmm?” Jou turned red again. “I...uh...in case ya didn’t notice my legs and chest are waxed. Arms too. I...I’ve been kinda thinkin’ of trying it and I wanted ta see what it was like ta go all hairless like. But...” Jou ducked his head to hide the lie. “I don’t wanna do it wrong ‘cause I saw some bad ones at a club once so I been readin’ an’ stuff. If...I...do you mind?” Hiding his amusement the brunet considered the blond carefully, trying to picture how he would look as a woman. With a gasp he realized he would almost be a ringer for Kawai Joie. He’d known they resembled each other, but with skillful makeup and some voice lessons Jounouchi could truly pass for the woman. “I don’t mind and I agree that you would need some lessons. Go get into your costume and I’ll serve our meal.” “M...M...My costume?” Jou stammered, genuinely surprised. He hadn’t expected Seto to ask to see it. “Yes. I want to see the sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania.” “Yer not serious...” Jou wanted to cringe and at the same time wanted to laugh. His love was full of surprises. “I’m serious. But if you’re too much of a wimp...” He let his voice fade into a sigh but that didn’t disguise the challenge. “Wimp! Ya...fine, but just fer that after the movie ya gotta play me a game of chess. I joined th’ chess club in college an’ I’m pretty good.” “Whatever. But you’ll never be as good as me. I’m a master.” “Yeah right. Get over yourself.” Jou called as he stripped off his clothes and dug out the box he’d stashed the costume in. He could hear the chink of dishes from the kitchen then silence. “You need any help with your bustle?” Seto’s voice was close, as if he were standing outside the bedroom door. “Nah.” Jou contemplated his ‘protection’ for a moment. There was some dried blood so it hadn’t been a wasted effort. He washed and dried then put on the black silk panties. Turning he checked the fit and lie of the clothes then slipped on the five inch Lucite heels and fastened the over-sized pearl necklace around his neck. Showtime. In an imitation of Frank-n-furter’s grand entrance he strutted into the room and struck a campy pose. “How do you do? I see you met my...faithful handy man...” Seto appraised the blond for a moment as he pranced across the room. He didn’t move with the delicate grace of a woman but he didn’t wobble on the heels and fall over either. “Hmmm... I could actually get to like you in that.” “Smart ass. You already like me.” “True. Okay you could get laid in that.” “Jerk...That proves it.” “Proves what?” Seto was intrigued; Jou’s eyes had lit with satisfaction. “That getting laid doesn’t improve your attitude.” “Very funny.” He patted the space next to him and pushed the play button. “Sit and eat.” For the next hour and forty minutes Seto was vastly entertained not only by the movie, but by Jou’s antics. If he were totally honest Jou amused him much more than the movie. His lover would mimic the dialogue, dance to the music and toss out one-line riders that made the movie hysterically funny. He was amazed he hadn’t seen the possibilities before. By the time the movie had come to its conclusion the brunet found that his sides actually ached from laughing so much. Still chuckling as Jou hummed the ‘transvestite’ song he helped the blond wash the dishes. “Hey Seto?” The mischievous blond was giving him a teasing sideways glance as they went back to the living room. “Hmmm?” “It woulda been hilarious if we’da done that play in high school our senior year instead a Romeo and Juliet.” “Hilarious? Did you hit your head? It would have been a disaster.” Seto shuddered as the images paraded through his over-active brain. “Nah, you’da made a great Frank-n-furter.” He grinned and bumped the wide-eyed man playfully with his hips. “I’da played Rocky just so ya coulda kissed my foot.” An answering grin tugged Seto’s lips. “It would have been worth it to chain you to my bed.” He bumped back lightly. “Ooh kinky. Ya like th’ whips and chains?” Hentai interest lit the honey-gold eyes. “That could be arranged.” He shimmied slightly and ran his hands down his costumed chest to toy with his garter belt. “Whips no. Chains hell yes. Having you at my complete mercy? You don’t know how many times I’ve dreamed of that.” “Yer a pervert.” Playful calculation mixed with the sexily teasing expression. “So play me in chess an’ we’ll make it a bet.” “No challenge.” A brunet eyebrow lifted quizzically. “Unless you want to lose.” The blond burned bright red but met the blue gaze steadily. “Well maybe I do. But ta be fair we’ll make it best three outta five.” “Chess takes hours. We won’t even finish one game tonight.” “Nah. Yer gonna demolish them wannabes tomorrow in just a few moves. I know ya are. So why don’tcha play me like yer gonna play them?” Both eyebrows lifted in surprise. “If that’s what you want okay, but no crying about it.” “Why should I cry? I win either way. I can’t think of anywhere else I’d wanna be but tied up on yer bed...at yer mercy.” He hesitated a second then smiled. “After each ya can tell me what I did wrong. I know ya’ll want ta. Besides I want to know.” “I have very little mercy and I will show you your mistakes.” Passion lit the golden gaze. “Oh god, that’s good ‘cause I think I’m not gonna want ya ta have too much mercy.” He settled at the chess set and kicked off the Lucite heels. “You be white ‘cause yer such a white prince.” “That’s white knight.” “Nah, yer a prince. Trust me, I know th’ difference.” Focusing on the board Seto placed his first piece decisively. “Your move.” **********
