Window to a Dragon's Heart
@-->-->----
For the forty-second time that day, Joey looked at the piece of paper he'd found pushed inside his locker when he'd arrived at school that morning. The message was short and to the point. 'Wheeler, meet me at the Astronomy observation area at lunchtime. I have a job for you and I am willing to pay $100 for it.' The note was unsigned, which made him wary, but the promise of earning that much money had overcome his caution.
He'd been trying to raise a bit of cash so he could go on the class trip being held later in the month, but it had been looking very unlikely that he'd be able to gather the eighty dollars needed. If this message was for real, he'd be able to go and he'd be able to get some snacks for the trip too! If the message was for real...
Joey looked around the observation deck that formed the roof of the science building and frowned. There was no one in sight. Even the benches and tables situated around the area were clear of the Astronomy Club members who often hung out up there in their free time. "Hey! Anyone here?"
A voice came from somewhere behind him, low and smooth with a hint of sarcasm and laughter, like the owner of the voice was laughing at him. "I see you can be early after all, when money is concerned." The voice was as familiar to Joey as a Red Eyes Black Dragon and as unwelcome as an attack that took the last of his lifepoints.
He whirled around, glaring at the brunette teen emerging from the staircase onto the roof. "Kaiba! What are you..." Realisation hit him and he paled. "Oh no! Don't tell me you're the one who wrote me that note! Aw man! So much for that. See ya 'round, Kaiba. I'm outta here."
Joey headed for the stairs, frowning when Kaiba remained still. He got within three feet of the brunette and glared at the obstacle in his path. "You're in my way."
Kaiba smirked. "Hot-headed as ever, I see. You could at least listen to my proposal, Wheeler. Who knows, you might not find the job as distasteful as you seem to think you will."
"Huh? You mean... you were serious in that note? There really is a job?" Joey blinked at him, his will to leave momentarily frozen by his curiosity. "You'd actually be willin' to pay me for doin' somethin' for ya? You feelin' okay, Kaiba?" He eyed the brunette sceptically.
Kaiba's smirk widened. "I realise it's unusual, however I find myself with a problem and this seems to be the most expedient method of solving it."
Joey considered for a moment and then nodded abruptly. "Well I guess there's no harm in hearin' ya out." He moved away, giving Kaiba room to move out of the stairwell, then followed the brunette over to sit at one of the tables.
Kaiba leaned forward, his brilliant blue eyes locked onto Joey with an intensity usually reserved for business deals and students who tried to cut in front of him when he was walking through the school halls. "I'm sure you are aware that I value my privacy, and Mokuba's. The Kaiba estate has more security than any other place in Domino. I have always prided myself on the fact that no one has ever been able to get inside the gates without my knowledge. So the incident last night was particularly disturbing."
Joey raised an eyebrow, curious despite himself. "Incident? Someone broke in to your place?"
"Not exactly. Someone managed to find a way around both the guards and the surveillance system. They got close enough to the house to throw a bucket of paint over one of the windows." Kaiba paused at Joey's snicker, fixing him with a cold glare. "One of the *upstairs* windows," he emphasised and waited for Joey to make the connection.
"Wha'? No way!" Joey stared at Kaiba in disbelief. "How in the world did they manage that without anyone seein' them?" A ground level attack was one thing, but to hit a window on the first floor was impossible to do from the ground. Joey's humour at the situation faded as he realised what Kaiba was so concerned about. To hit an upstairs window, the intruder must have been on a ladder or something. That put a whole new spin on the situation.
Kaiba shook his head. "My so-called security team is still attempting to determine that." His sneer of contempt showed his opinion of them, and the possibility that they would find themselves unemployed if they didn't succeed.
Joey winced. "Well, I can see why you'd be worried an' all but... What's this got to do with me?"
"The window they hit is covered in paint." Kaiba's expression relayed his disgust. "Normally, I would call in the company that cleans the estate's windows but..." He hesitated, looking uneasy for the first time that Joey could remember. "I have my doubts as to their discretion and I have no wish for this incident to be broadcast all over town." He locked eyes with Joey, for once completely serious and without any hint of a sneer or a glare. "If word got around that such a thing had happened, certain... people... might attempt to duplicate the incident, without the paint."
"I getcha." Joey nodded, having experienced firsthand the Big Five's attempt at retaliation on their former boss. Considering how many enemies Kaiba had, it was easy to see his point. "So you want me to clean it off, huh?"
Kaiba nodded. "Yes. As I said in the message, I am willing to pay you one hundred dollars for it. There is, however, one minor detail."
Joey shook his head. "I knew there had to be a catch." He frowned. "Okay, hit me with it."
"The job needs to be done this afternoon."
"Wha'? There's no way..." Joey stopped at the irritated scowl Kaiba was giving him. He sighed. "Okay, I'll bite, why's it have to be today?"
"I have a major shareholder coming for dinner tonight. Every time he comes, he takes a walk through my gardeners' pride and joy, a formal rose garden. Unfortunately... it is situated behind the house." Kaiba didn't roll his eyes, but he came as close to it as he ever did.
"Where the window is, right?" Joey sighed again and ran a hand through his thick mop of golden hair. "I'm not sure I can get the stuff I'll need by then."
Kaiba held up a hand and stood up. "I have everything you will need. It will be waiting for you around the back of the house this afternoon. Be there by a quarter to six. That should give you enough time to do the job and get out before my guest arrives." He turned and started walking towards the stairs.
Joey scowled and stood up. "Hey! I haven't said I'll do the job yet!"
Kaiba shrugged but didn't look back. "It would be your loss, Wheeler. I wouldn't need to pay you and I can always have my security team clean it up. There would be a certain irony in that."
The thought of the money and the chance to go on the school trip squished any qualms Joey had. "Fine. I'll do it." Joey glared at Kaiba's back. "But one question. Why me? You could have asked anyone, why'd you pick me?"
Kaiba paused at the top of the stairs, but still didn't look back. "Because I know you." A small smile tugged at Joey's lips, but Kaiba wasn't quite finished. "So if word about this gets out, I'll know exactly who to blame, and who to exact my revenge upon. Don't disappoint me, Wheeler."
Joey was still gaping and fuming when the bell rang signalling the end of lunch.

"Man... someone tell me why I'm doin' this?" Joey scowled up at the ladder leaning against the wall of the Kaiba mansion. His eyes travelled up it to the window at the top and he winced. "What a mess. So much for easy money, I'm gonna earn every bit of it." He put the squeegee into the bucket of soapy water and started to climb. "Oh well, at least everything was set up for me."
He muttered to himself all the way up the ladder. "Kaiba didn't even bother seeing me. Not that I mind. Saved me the trouble of talkin' to him. Still... you'd think he'd at least have said somethin' to me, like 'don't step on the grass' or 'don't break the window'. Letting an opportunity to insult me go by like that... He's slippin'."
Reaching the window, Joey studied the damage for a minute. Up close, it wasn't as bad as it had looked from the ground. Most of the paint was in the middle of the large window, hardly any had splattered onto the stonework and since the paint was the same colour as the house, it wasn't noticeable anyway. Joey grinned. "Maybe this will be easy money after all." Hanging the bucket of water over the hook in the ladder intended for that very purpose, he got down to work.
Joey had cleaned about half of the window when he noticed movement inside the room. Thinking it was Kaiba checking up on him, he scowled through the window. It took him a moment to realise what he was looking in on. When he did, Joey gasped and almost fell off the ladder. He jerked backwards so hard that only a quick grab saved him. His heart pounding for more reasons than his near-fall, he carefully looked through the window again.
It was indeed Kaiba inside the room, but he was definitely not there to check up on Joey's progress.
Seto Kaiba was lying on the bed, completely naked. His legs were slightly parted and he was rolling a nipple between the fingers of one hand while his other hand... Joey swallowed hard. Kaiba's other hand was wrapped around what could only be described as a massive tool of pleasure.
The bed was close enough to the window that every movement was clearly visible. As Joey watched, Kaiba shifted on the sheets, his body moving restlessly as he slowly ran his hand up his shaft from the base to the tip. He paused there to squeeze the head and rub it gently, then he ran his hand back down to the base again. He briefly dipped his hand down, giving the two swollen sacs beneath a light squeeze before returning his attention to his waiting shaft. Kaiba began stroking it with short strokes, working his way along the length until he reached the tip. Joey could see the drop of moisture beading there and he moved slightly to get a better view, only to groan as his line of sight was obscured by the paint that he had yet to wash off the window.
Sighing, Joey returned his attention to his task but his hand moved automatically, his eyes focused on the scene inside the room.
Kaiba's hand wrapped around the base of his shaft and he slowly drew it up towards the tip. His grip must have been tight because Joey could see the tension in Kaiba's hand and arm. One glance at his face confirmed it, for the brunette's eyes were scrunched closed in an expression of pleasure bordering on pain.
When he reached the tip, Kaiba's hand closed over it and then tightened suddenly, grabbing it in a grip that made Joey wince and instinctively draw his knees together. Apparently it was as painful as it looked because Kaiba's back arched off the bed and he cried out. Joey could see his mouth open, but he could hear only the faintest sound.
Kaiba relaxed his grip and collapsed on the bed again, then began lightly petting his shaft, as if it were one of his beloved dragons. His other hand moved also, moving from his nipple and sliding down his body to begin stroking over the creamy skin of his bare belly. The hand on his shaft dipped beneath it again to rub and fondle the two sacs, but it was only a momentary diversion and Kaiba was soon running his hand over his shaft once more.
After a few minutes of stroking, he wrapped his hand around his hardness again. This time, Kaiba remained relaxed and slid his hand up and down several times with ease before pausing to rub the head. He moved slightly, pushing his slender index finger lightly into the slit, gathering the moisture there before rubbing it into the surrounding skin. Apparently satisfied, Kaiba wrapped his hand around his shaft and began slowly moving it up and down in a motion as old as sex itself. After a few strokes, he quickened his pace. It wasn't long before his body tensed.
Joey was panting heavily. He watched, mesmerised, as Kaiba's release spurted through the air, landing on the brunette's bare chest and belly. If he hadn't been hard already, that would have done the trick. As it was, his pants tightened to the point where he couldn't keep from groaning. "Oh man..."
He closed his eyes and then opened him again, fighting to calm his ragged breathing. Looking around, Joey was stunned to discover that not only was he still on the ladder, but he'd finished cleaning the paint off the window while he'd been... distracted.
Joey was still shaking his head over that when movement on the other side of the window again caught his attention. This time though, the movement was Kaiba rising from the bed. Joey's eyes widened and he quickly ducked down, worried that Kaiba might look over and catch sight of him.
Suddenly, his position seemed like a rather precarious one, and not only because he was balanced on a ladder beside a first floor window. Gathering the bucket and squeegee, Joey began to climb down as fast as his tight jeans would allow him to. Once on the ground, he took off without looking back, eager to put as much distance between himself and the window as he could.
In the back of his mind, he remembered that Kaiba owed him the money for cleaning the window, but Joey merely tucked the thought away to talk to Kaiba about it tomorrow. When he wasn't sporting a bulge in his pants that stretched the faded denim tight enough to leave nothing to the imagination. Besides, there was no way he could face the brunette while the memory of Kaiba lying on that bed was still replaying in his mind.
@-->-->----
Kaiba's lips tilted into a smug smile as he watched the blonde teen hurry out of sight. Joey's reaction had been well worth all the trouble he'd gone to. Although, perhaps 'trouble' wasn't quite the right word.
He had to admit, getting around his own security team to get the paint on the window had been a rather enjoyable challenge. As for his performance for Joey on the observation deck... Kaiba felt he deserved an award for that. The look of shock from his normally unflappable head gardener, when he'd ordered him to bolt the ladder securely to the wall 'because he's a clumsy idiot and I would not put it past him to do it just to annoy me', had been a rare treat too. In fact, all in all, Kaiba couldn't remember when he'd last had so much... fun.
All because of what Joey had done one month earlier.
Kaiba glanced over his shoulder at the bottle standing on the bedside table. He frowned, wondering if perhaps he'd gone too far by placing it in clear sight. No, he assured himself, Wheeler would have been too focused on other things to have even noticed it. Besides, it wouldn't have been the same if there weren't at least a small element of risk that Wheeler would realise the truth about this little 'job'.
He shook his head, still amazed that Wheeler had the audacity to give him a bottle of chocolate flavoured body paint as a secret Valentines Day gift. Of course, Kaiba had known it was from him within a minute of receiving it, but Wheeler didn't know that. He still believed he'd got away with it. Kaiba smirked.
It was traditional in Japan for males who had been given gifts, usually chocolate, on Valentines Day to give gifts in return one month later, on March 14. White Day. Kaiba had never really bothered with the tradition before, but then again... he'd always managed to avoid getting chocolates on Valentines Day too. This year had been an exception, in both cases.
He had received some chocolates from Téa and the body paint from Joey. He had given Téa a silver charm bracelet that morning, but for Joey... Kaiba had decided that his Valentines Day gift merited something... special... in return.
A glimpse at the one side of his heart that he never allowed anyone to see.
His passionate side.
"Happy White Day, Wheeler."
