The only things I own are a couple of duel decks, two albums of stickers, more cards than I can count and some action figures that keep falling over and landing in poses far more interesting than I could ever put them into deliberately.

Dark Temptations Presents
Puppet Master
Chapter 1
@-->-->----
All Hallows Eve.
The night when maidens are warned to avoid crossroads at midnight, lest they be taken away by the Shining Ones to join their endless dance. The night the Wild Hunt are said to chase their eternal prey through the skies from dusk until dawn. The night witches and warlocks revel in and ghosties, creepies and long-legged beasties are more than sounds of bumps in the night. The one night of the year when the dead are said to walk once more among the living and the power of magic is at its strongest.
But of course, Seto Kaiba didn't believe in magic, or anything else to do with Halloween.
As he strode through the well-lit hallways of Kaiba Corp.'s main office building, Kaiba's mind was not on ghosts or fairytales. It wasn't even on Mokuba's plans to go trick or treating that night with his friends. Everyone who passed the young CEO in the halls believed his mind to be solely fixed on the sheaf of papers in his hand that he was studying intently, a frown of concentration creasing his forehead. But they were wrong.
Kaiba's mind was somewhere else entirely, reviewing the terrible mistake he had made earlier in the day.
He had kissed Joey Wheeler.
It had been such a small thing. It should have been inconsequential. Something done in the heat of the moment and then forgotten, never to be thought of or mentioned again. He wanted to forget it. But... it would not leave his mind.
The events that had led up to it had been nothing special. Just the usual verbal sparring between them, followed by Wheeler's sudden loss of control. The blonde boy had pushed him back against the lockers and then leaned in to glare at him. He could still feel the warmth of the other boy's body as it pressed against his own. Just as it had countless times before in similar situations. But never before had he responded the way he had that morning.
He still didn't know what devil had possessed him to do it. Kaiba could remember looking at Wheeler's lips as he growled at him. He vaguely recalled wondering if they felt as soft as they looked. He was also fairly sure that somewhere in his mind there had been a little voice that had encouraged him, whispering to him of how confused he would make the blonde boy if he acted upon his urge. The image the voice had painted of Wheeler, his brown eyes wide and startled as he was kissed, had been oddly appealing.
Although the memories of the moments leading up to the kiss were somewhat disturbing in their vagueness, Kaiba remembered all too clearly the feel of Wheeler's lips, soft and pliant against his. He remembered how those lips had parted on a gasp and how he had taken advantage of the opening to slip his tongue into the other boy's mouth. Also the way Wheeler's tongue had met his, duelling for control of the kiss and surprising him with its eagerness. He remembered too the feel of the blonde's cotton shirt beneath his hands as he had gripped Wheeler's hips, holding him in place even though he hadn't tried to pull away. Most of all though, Kaiba remembered Wheeler's taste. Sweet with just a hint of tartness to spice the flavour.
It had been the taste that had brought him back to his senses. He had pushed Wheeler away, silently cursing himself for his stupidity. His curses had become audible as he had noticed the expression on the blonde's face. Rather than the confusion he had expected, or even the rage that he would have welcomed, the look smouldering in the heated brown orbs had been one of desire.
Kaiba paused a moment in the hallway, schooling his features to hide the wince his memories of the incident had caused. He still couldn't believe that he, Kaiba Seto, CEO of Kaiba Corp. Industries, had run from the scene like an innocent maiden whose virtue had been threatened.
The comparison flickered through his mind and he scowled before resuming his journey to his office. His rapid footsteps warned the night shift employees of his mood. The sight of them scurrying to get out of his way served to mollify him a little, but despite that, he was still in no mood for work by the time he strode into his outer office. Again that little voice called to him from deep within his mind, urging him to leave his gilded prison and painting an irresistible picture of freedom from work and responsibility, if only for that one night.
A few minutes later, Kaiba had straightened his office, grabbed his coat and was preparing to leave. After all, he reasoned, his hand pausing on the doorknob, it was already well after normal work hours. It would not do any harm for the rest of his business correspondence and reports to wait another day.
As he strode through the halls, he ignored the shocked stares of his employees. If he chose to leave work at 7pm rather than work through until 3am as he normally did, that was no one's business but his own.
The moment Kaiba stepped from the elevator into the underground carpark, he knew he was not alone. He glanced around sharply, suddenly tense. Was it his imagination that someone was watching him? Surely, it had to be. There was no way to get into the carpark without authorisation and there was no one in sight. It had to be his mind playing tricks on him. Despite his mental reassurance though, Kaiba moved quickly and quietly towards his car, his eyes keeping careful watch for the slightest movement.
He reached the car with no sight or sound reaching his eyes or ears. Relaxing a little, Kaiba unlocked his car. He was reaching for the door handle when he caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye. He whirled around and recoiled in horror when he realised what he was seeing. "No!"
There was a flash of light.
Then there was nothing but darkness.
