Disclaimer:
I do not own YuGiOh!, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
In This Craziness
Note: this will be part of a series of Yugioh fanfictions I plan on writing because I feel like it. They will involve OCs, but I assure you, the only ones that will be Mary Sues are the villains. Though this will often switch POVs, everyone in this fic is as equally important as the other, including canon characters. So, in other words, I won't upstage them because I'm not like that.
Warning: abuse, rape(during a flashback), and death(in a flashback)
Disclaimer: Just in case, I don't own Odd Thomas, a series by Dean Koontz. I hope the reference won't get me in trouble.
Prolouge:
According to priests and Dean Koontz's character Odd Thomas, the dead don't speak. Well, according to me, that whole thing is a farce. The dead do speak; it just takes someone with inate senses to hear them speak. Seeing them is a priority too.
My name is Miyuki Sakasama, and I am turning seventeen soon. I don't have any parents or any other family members that I remember. The only people I consider family is my "cat" Yami, my younger friend Chiaki, and our housemates, Yugi and his grandfather, but even they aren't even your average family. The five of us can be described as a dysfunctional family. Also, I don't go to school. I used to, but I stopped when I started seeing spirits.
Yes, I can see ghosts, or spirits as I like to call them. I'm a medium, a pyschic or whatever you want to call me. And I'm not really your ho-hum, run-of-the-mill, kind of medium either. I make most of my income from being what I like to call a spirit detective. I run a small business where I basically go and exorcise any ghosts that haunt people. Well, I say exorcise, but that's not really what I mean. To exorcise a spirit is to destroy it without letting it go to the other side. It's like crushing a mouse instead of simply putting it outside where it won't bother you anymore. That's really what I do; I try to send all spirits to the afterlife rather than destroy them like an exterminator. I just use the word "exorcise" because I can't find another word to describe what I do.
I know, I know. My business sounds like a con. But, believe me when I say that it's not. I really am a person who can see spirits. I just use this ability in order to make a small profit, but it's for the greater good. Really!...Besides, I don't make that much anyway. You know how you took my business for a con? Well, so does everyone in Domino City. Usually, when people hire me it's to make a joke. Sure there are sometimes people who have genuine problems, but they never really pay enough. I tell ya, making money in this city is no picnic. Though I will tell you, it was a lot harder before Yami, Chiaki and I met Yugi and Mr. Mutou. That was before most of this stuff really started...
