The memory of the end of the Battle City Tournament kept replaying in the back of Malik's mind, along with a recurring
nightmare he couldn't help but to go back to Kaiba corp Island which was now in ruins from an explosion caused by
Seto Kaiba himself who wanted the island destroyed after he lost his own tournament. It was only a few years ago,
but it felt like it happened yesterday. He had been wanting to find out why he was having nightmares and was sure
returning to the island would help him cope with what he couldn't understand. He boarded his boat along with his sister Ishizu
and older adopted brother Rishid and sailed to Kaiba Corp Island. In the center of the island were the Kaiba Tower once stood tall
and proud was now nothing but a pathetic pile of ruble and ash. Malik perched on his ride speeding fast with the wind blowing through
his sandy blonde hair passes through the open terrain though feels free in his new life though painful tragic memories linger in the back
of his mind like creeping shadows of past angers and jealousies he wonders why he still thinks of such an awful creature.
He found himself at the sight of the last duel he ever participated in. Even though the island was blown up and
the Kaiba Tower was no longer standing there was plenty of room to ride his bike around before returning to the boat.
"You're dead." He mumbled under his breath, although fear struck him he was compelled to stand in the very spot his
evil side fell by his own hand when he surrendered ending the life of an evil entity. He wasn't sure where it would be
from the ground but he was drawn to the very spot. He froze when he heard a whisper in the wind.
"Maaaaaaaaaaaaaarlllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiik." Malik's hair stood on the back of his neck. He wanted to run to his ship forgetting
about his bike, just get away from the familiar voice. Malik looked behind him to see nothing. His heart was in his throat
but relief slowly seeped into his mind. He convinced himself subconsciously it was nothing just the wind howling.
Suddenly Malik felt dizzy, the fallout from the explosion that had not yet settled. Hours felt like the blink of an eye when
Malik awoke in a hole in the ground he collapsed in. For some reason it seemed darker than usual, and he couldn't see the sky.
"Who dug this hole? How did I end up in here?" The ground was uncomfortable and cold while debris and rocks hurt his back.
Just as Malik sat up he was immediately grabbed and pulled back down from behind by frozen stiff hands. On impact with the
ground Malik struggled to his feet and cowered in the corner of the hole. It was dark and the walls were in the shape of a rectangle.
He just realized he was standing in a grave.
"Who dug a grave here? There's no one here not since the explosion." Malik tried to climb out of the grave but the walls were too
high and the blinding darkness on the other side of the grave made him nervous like a child afraid of the dark. Malik felt something
grip his left ankle and at that moment he pissed himself. Then something grabbed his right knee, Malik froze in place his whole body
tightened as the grip released his ankle and grabbed for his his left hip, what gripped his knee was now holding his arm, he was
now sure someone was climbing up his body. Both mysterious hands were now gripping his shoulders, a face rose up to Malik's.
He was so scared he couldn't breath when he saw who it was that now towered over him. The other presence was green, with
sunken eyes, flesh was torn from his cheek revealing his rotting teeth. One of his arms was devoid of all flesh and was nothing but
bone and dirt, his other arm was bloated with black nails. It was Yami Marik, but why did he have a body? Malik was his body.
What scared Malik about him most was the smile on his face.
"Long time no see my dear." Mariks dual voice sheered Maliks ears and frightened him even more.
Marik leaned down closer to Malik's face who closed his eyes hoping that would be enough make the
creature go away. Marik grabed at Maliks face forcing him to face him wile he moaned demonically
ending in creepy laughter, still Malik refused to open his eyes. Malik felt the icey breath waft in his
face with an unpleasant putrid smell from the zombie's mouth went up Maliks nose and made him sick.
Malik started choking and opened his eyes and tried to push the zombie away but the creatures body
was so cold and sticky that his hand stuck to him, because his hand was stuck to the rotten side of Marik's
face Marik looked endearingly at Malik and placed his boney hand over Malik's. The zombie moaned once
more this time with pleasure of feeling warm flesh. Malik pulled away from Marik but the wall of the grave
stopped him. Marik pinned Malik to the ground and ripped his shirt half way down. Malik tried to get away
but the Zombies unearthly strength had him completely paralyzed.
Marik unzipped his pants slowly and decayed blood, pus, and other unknown bodily fluids poured out onto the ground
directly in front of Malik.
"AH FUCK NO!"
Malik found and crawled his way out of the grave the next morning. His clothes were torn, tattered and dripping with undead filth.
He struggled to his feet and and staggered towards where he hitched his boat. He felt a trickle travel down his chest.
he placed his hand over his chest and felt a wet sticky substance and a stinging pain as his fingers brushes over what he now saw were claw marks.
"No!" he whispered to himself realizing he has been marked and would soon become one of the undead himself.
He looked at his hands and saw that they were slightly discolored.
He knew it would be to dangerous for him to leave the island and he had to make a difficult descition.
Malik snuck down to his boat and untied the rope and watched through his blurry eyes his boat with his friends asleep aboard float away.
Malik heard a deep moan from behind him he turned around to see Marik slowly reaching out to grab his hand.
Malik was reluctant at first but felt he will be on this island with him a long time and took his hand.
Marik led Malik back to the shallow grave but this time it was different, Marik had widened it into an almost heart shape.
Malik stared at the akward grave and said to himself.
".......Really?....." He turned to Marik who had been smiling creepily at him for a moment Malik sighed and crawled into his
side of the grave and lay down in a fetile position, as he settled in Marik clapped his hands pleased that Malik had moved in with him.
Marik turned his back to his side of the plot and dropped his weight forcing himself to fall backwards.
A moment later when his dust settled he sat up and pulled dirt over Malik once he was satisfied with how much dirt he pulled over his little friend he pat
the soil down lovingly as if tucking Malik in for an eternal slumber. Malik snuggled under the soil as he felt the cool dirt settling on his tear stained face
he also noticed that the lack of air no longer bothered him and neither did the dirt that settled in his eyes.
Malik fell into a deep sleep but felt violent electrical shocks bolting through his chest and took a deep breath and started choking. he rolled onto his back
kicked at the air.
"OUCH!" a strange voice shouted the sound of a body fall followed. Malik opened his eyes, he found himself laying in a stretcher. Around him was a doctor holding
defibrillators. Rishid and Ishizu were also present smiling out of relief.
"Malik your awake." Ishizu said as she took her brother's hand.
".....What happened......how did I get here?"Malik said sleepily.
"You fell off your motor cycle sir, were on a helicopter." Rishid answered. er. brother, sorry force of habbit.
"what happened to....the zombie?"Malik asked.
"what zombie?" Ishizu asked.
"The one in the shallow grave I fell into to." Malik answered.
"What shallow grave?...you fell off your bike and hit your head sir." Rishid answered as he put his hand up to Malik's forehead.
"It was all a dream?" Malik asked himself. "It seemed so real." Malik placed his hand over his chest and felt a familiar wound.
"Huh?...those claw marks!"
"Claws sir?....Your bike got wrecked up pretty bad, you may have gotten that injury from it." Rishid explained.
Malik sat up and thought to himself. "Fuck me, none of that really happened." he looked at his hands they looked a bit discolored.
"Or did it."
